CH868: Global Three Months of Conflict V

Away from the Eastern part of Africa, the search lens turns towards another part of the continent with conflicts the Alphas were all too familiar with.

The Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) previously played host to one of the Alpha squad's missions.

While the Alphas were able to stop the plans of the M23 rebels in the eastern part of the DRC, this didn't end or even diminish the conflict in the region.

The conflict in the eastern part of the DRC, along the Congo-Rwanda border is a complex one involving Ethnic, territorial and even financial interests.

The Ethnic part of the conflict originates from the fallout of the Rwanda Genocides. The Tutsi-led Rwandan resistance ousted the then extremist and genocidal Hutu government.

The aftermath of this caused many Hutus to flee Rwanda across the border into the DRC fearing a reprisal genocide from the now Tutsi-led Rwandan government.
