3. Wolf Cruelty

The sound of the alarm keeps ringing, and everyone starts running. Some ran for cover, and some ran for weapons. Those in this building were hunters.

"Move fast!" an old man shouted to everyone.

Bogatir ran into a room where he could see what was going on. Behind him was Alex following him into the room.

"What happened?" Bogatir asked a man who was staring at the screen.

"Look. They are trying to break into our territory!" The young man answered Bogatir by showing the screen.

Bogatir sees a screen showing the situation outside the building. He has seen some werewolves who are looking for a way to enter the castle.

"Damn it! Where did they find this place? Haven't we been hiding this place from the vampires and wolves!" Bogatir said in an irritated tone.

"Looks like the wolves smell something so strong from this place," said Alex, who had met wolves several times.

"What should we do, Bogatir?" The young man asked Bogatir.

Before Bogatir answered the young man's question, he saw a wolf casually walking. The wolf's mouth was the body of a child and threw it on the ground.

"The little girl is still alive!" said the young man.

There was a wolf's howl as a sign that it was time to eat the fresh meat in front of them. The wolves began to surround the little girl, and they were ready to pounce on the fresh meat in front of her.

The wolves immediately tore the little girl's body and then devoured her. Everyone who saw him felt nauseous and angry too.

There was the sound of a woman screaming, trying to open the tightly closed gate. He wanted to save his daughter from the vicious wolves, but no one dared to open the towering gate.

"I beg of you ... open this gate. Save my daughter!" The woman shouted with a cry so loud.

"What would you do? Your daughter is dead. Do you also want everyone here to die?" said a middle-aged woman to a woman who was crying, asking to open the gate.

"I do not care! All I want is my daughter!" said the woman, banging the gate so sturdy.

At that time, the woman tried to open the solid gate. Out there, the wolves had finished eating the little girl's meat. What remained were the clothes that were already covered in blood.

After being satisfied to eat the little girl, the wolves walked casually, leaving the little girl's remains in the form of bones and clothes covered in blood and fresh blood that was still clearly visible on the ground.

Bogatir immediately walks out, followed by Alex. He is sad about what he saw earlier. However, he couldn't do anything about it because there were currently very few hunters.

He also saw several wolves watching from a distance. It seemed they were fishing for people to get out of the shelter.

"Why are you so cruel to me… She is my only daughter. Do you know she is the only memory between me and my husband," The woman said while crying hysterically.

Bogatir was silent, and he could not reply to what was said by the woman who was sad about the loss of her daughter. The woman continued to roar while pulling on Bogatir's clothes.

"Madame, calm yourself!" Alex said while trying to get the woman's hand off Bogatir.

"You are just like those vampires and wolves!" shrieked the woman.

"Open the gates!" Bogatir ordered.

A large man pulled an iron chain. Slowly, the gate that looked sturdy opened. The woman who had been crying had stood up and ran to see her daughter.

Hysterical cries escaped the woman, and she saw the remains of her daughter. His body limped right in front of the ground, which was still soaked with fresh blood, small bones, and bloodstained clothes.

The woman could not stand what she saw, and she was about to touch her daughter's bones and clothes. Having not touched all of them, the woman was furthest away unconscious.

"Take him and take care of everything!" Bogatir ordered the few people who were there.

Two men took the woman inside while Bogatir was still staring at the little girl's remains. He used to think that only vampires could act in such a cruel way. However, his thinking was wrong. One day he began to think of hunting down that vicious wolf.

"Are we going to hunt them too?" Alex asked Bogatir.

Bogatir is silent, and he must think everything correctly. He did not want any more victims from his group members.

Not long after, Adrian arrived. He saw his father, who was staring at the ground, still wet with fresh blood. He quickly approached his father.

"What happened?" asked Adrian to his father.

Bogatir was silent, and his irritation returned when he heard Adria's question. If only the son had not gone with the other hunters, the little girl might have been saved.

"Father. Tell me what happened?" Adrian asked in a high tone.

"It's all because of you—if only you didn't go with the hunters. Maybe none of this will happen," said Bogatir as he walked away from Adrian.

Alex could only look at Adrian, and he was disappointed by what the young man had done. Somehow his character is very different from Bogatir. That's what Alex had in mind. He also left Adrian without paying attention to the answers to the questions posed to Adrian.

"What happened?" asked Adrian to the people who were still there.

However, they all did not answer what was asked of him. One by one, they walked in, sadness and anger still visible in their eyes.

Now their enemy is not only the vampires but the wolves as well. They think it will be harder to survive.

On the other hand, Bogatir is thinking of a suitable way to hunt the wolf. He remembered his father's message of him, about the wolves and their weaknesses.

According to his father, who knew the weaknesses of the werewolves were the vampires. Because they have been enemies for thousands of years, and their relationship never got better.

On the other hand, Sergei is still in the castle and sleeping in his chest. He opened his eyes and gathered all his strength.

His body still felt limp from the poison arrows from the vampire hunters. Sergei needs the blood of a woman of Varangian descent.

Sergei's coffin slowly opened from the outside. He saw one of his men who were very loyal to him. The man was named Edik Vaplo.

"Bring the Varangian woman tonight!" Sergei ordered Edik.
