New Beginning?

*indicates the difference between the original inhabitant of the body and our mc no asterisk is mc asterisk is original inhabitant of the body this is expounded on later on in the novel so bare with me if it is a little confusing

No way, sure it was a realistic game but that's entirely different than being a real place…. does that mean everyone I killed excluding players really died.

Even if that's the case it's a might makes right type of world albeit for resources or causing someone to lose face replace me with any other cultivator it would have been the same end result. King inwardly thought

A better inquiry is where the hell am I it's still dark but I am capable of thought so am I being reincarnated or maybe in a coma, that's probably the first thing to figure out here. He inwardly thought

"Why am I hearing someone else thoughts I must be going crazy" King* said

"Wait if I can you hear what you're thinking does that make you my conscience, honestly thought that was a farce until now I guess" He* Said

"I Suppose you can say I am you but stronger, anything you desire I can grant that if it's within my power" King Said.

"Could you help me cultivate, my parents don't bring up anything about me being a cripple but I heard others talking about me being the reason they got exiled from my Mother's Clan" He* Said.

"Are you sure that's all you want for someone as strong as me that as simple as snapping my fingers together, but for you that may be the last decision you'll ever make" King scoffed.

"I'm sure if you can make that happen I'd be willing to do anything to grant that wish" He* Said

"Even if I told you that would require me to "merge" our souls together and to take over your body?" King asked.

"As long as you swear to take care of my Mother and Father I am willing if not I'd rather die than risk my parent's fate, but you did say you were me but stronger or whatever so doubt you would harm yourself or your family so lets do it" He*exclaimed

"Of course that is a condition I have no problem enforcing I wouldn't even consider it one to be completely transparent, if that's all consider it done and I'll merge our souls now, you may feel a bit of pain now brace yourself" King said.

"Don't forget your words, if you do I'd have no problem haunting you down in my afterlife, honestly having second thoughts now is there no other way to do this without merging souls and taking over my body?" He* asked

"I promise to make it as painless as possible and don't worry I'll simply be merging our souls not devouring yours or anything you'll still exist you just won't be the dominant personality is all think of it as taking a short nap" King swore

Honestly as far as he knew that was how it went unless you entirely consumed and refined someone's soul they'd either go into the reincarnation cycle if the person that took over the body and willed them out of the body or they would become something similar to an observer or coma patient depending on their soul strength, although he did leave out that with the gap in their soul strength he would be able to keep him essentially prisoner for eternity or immediately send him into the reincarnation cycle, but with the two of us sharing the same name it's almost too coincidental maybe we are two halves of the same soul. King inwardly thought

That exact thought seemed to be along the lines of the truth with how seamlessly the souls merged almost as if they were perfect fits King couldn't figure out if it was due to the disparity between their soul strength or purely the compatibility of their souls.

Quite frankly he was more interested in the fact that he no longer could communicate with the other soul and figured it would be better to just scour the merged memories to see where he really was.

Just as he had expected, he had really arrived on Asteria after all and even crazier it seemed to be essentially the same time as when he started playing Asteria the game in his previous life.

His name as he had already confirmed was King but he'd taken his father's last name due to his mother being exiled which was Bailrich, unfortunately due to being a cripple aside from knowing his parents were cultivators he didn't know how strong they were but at least he knew they weren't strong enough to detect the peculiarity of his soul.

They doted on him anyway so they will likely be more ecstatic to know that I can cultivate than the how behind it especially with how adventurous my counterpart was interestingly enough his mother was from the Phoenix clan so he was a hybrid he could only get so strong without cultivation but it allowed him to at least body cultivate the first few stages, the perfect cover for my recovered cultivation fell directly into my lap.

The part I previously thought might be the hardest could conversely become the simplest his mother already has negative feelings towards her clan so convincing her to stay silent until I am strong enough to build a name for myself with my own two hands.

Seems I'm only 13 years old as well anywhere between 8-18 is prime age to start cultivating anything after that without a ridiculous amount of fortuitous encounters lining up it would be difficult to reach the peak of both soul and qi cultivation, the most you'd get is to enjoy the slight increase in lifespan wherever you reach with the lingering disappointment of knowing you will still eventually die like a mortal.

Only Nobles, Sects, and Clans allowed their children to cultivate around 8-12 the mass majority of people didn't cultivate till they were 13 or older due to either lack of resources or not having a way to check if their child had the talent for cultivation often both.

Now the first step to my inevitable rise to the peak of this world convincing Mother and Father to allow me to be in charge of my own cultivation, although getting a few techniques and martial arts for hybrids wouldn't hurt have a couple from when I played Asteria but the phoenixes were quite reclusive so I didn't get many of them and the ones I did were for females.

Finally got back to our home after leaving Dierose Forest and the first thing I see is Mother talking to the Butler while frowning.

"King where on earth have you been, we said you could go to the Forest only while supervised no matter how strong your bodily cultivation is until you reach at least the 4th stage you can't just roam around by yourself like that" Vanessa said

"Sorry mother I'd saw something that I read could help my condition and I'd rather die trying to solve my own problems than sit around doing nothing all day" He said

"King being a cripple doesn't make you any lesser than anyone else you know that" She said while sighing

"Mom I know you may believe that but even mortals can cultivate qi to a certain extent they may never reach the peak but at least they can do it, you will never understand how it feels to not be able to do something everyone else can" He exclaimed

"I may not know how it feels to be in your shoes but it's quite insensitive of you to just assume I've never had something I wanted to do but couldn't for the last 5 years since finding out you can't cultivate we've been looking for any solution to your condition without fail knowing how much you want to join the cultivation world" She said while tearing up

"I'm sorry Mom I didn't mean it like that I know you and Dad have done everything you could to help me but I just wanted to do something about it myself as well I felt so helpless and I would love to tell you more about it" He said with a big grin
