Greetings 5

"Young miss, there is word about the general Lecturer and his son." Of the two servants that had served her before the arrival of the Quai girl. this one is the older she had yet to be given a proper name and so, I had thought to name her Zai Lye and the other Zai Lure. strange names but I found them fitting. The Quai servant would stay the same and sometime in the future will be returned to her true master.

For now, I sat with a half smile on my face a fish in hand as I tore a piece of the wonderful half cooked fish.

If I was a shark-kin, this fish would have been eaten alive dying a part of the water a wonderful red. Instead, I am here eating a dead thing.

"Speak,"

"There is word that the son had been poisoned, the father had a deadly insect that crawled from within his ear."

I pondered a bit about this before biting into my fish again. It seems that I will have to study a little more with the etiquette lecturer then.

Reaching into my wrist band space, I pulled out a glass jar and handed it to the servant Zai Lure not too far away and gave instructions.

"Give it to the old madam, Kai. Have them dribbled a few in both of their mouths. They will recover quicker than an average person and it will not threaten their lives. The servant took the glass jar and turned away.

I laid back, feeling quite comfortable, and yawned. "Humans are truly a strange species. The population is already low but they treat each other worse than the serpentine." I said, the Quai servant tremble, the wonderful Aroma of her fear seemed to beg me to sink my teeth with in her flesh and take a chunk away. I didn't though, sadly. Finishing the fish I my small hands and grimaced.

Even though I have ranked up, it was not nearly enough. What I had thought would give me release only served to make me feel the hunger and some effects that are highly unwelcome.

The scent of emotions, this is no different from when I had swam in the ocean and was able to smell fear, anxiety, joy, anger from potential prey or those nearby.

"Such. A big thing has happened, things will begin to change soon." Speaking in a low tone, I grimaced. On the side I sensed the hidden guards move slightly restlessly.

sharks had been seen as creatures to be feared or simply be awe-inspired.

Whether they were the common sharks or the Shark-kin themselves. With a cup of chilled tea in hand, I gently shook the contents with a circular motion of my wrist.

For so long, I had been aware of this fact. On Gaia after the departure of my siblings I had slowly grown and had become a force to reckon within the deep waters; from Serpentine to the Orcas and all those in between feared her.

If not for me one day after that big event, making me no longer caring and later having a need to find an anchor mate I would have simply dyed the deep waters in blood out of boredom.

This had happened several times over the last few thousand years; a Shark-kin would go in a frenzy, with the crucial factor being they need an anchor made or simply lost it.

After living several thousands of years and finding that these strange beings had touched my water... I had almost lost it myself.

The air breathers daring to tread in my waters had also touched one of my 'gills'.

How many had perished because of their stupidity? Their greed?

Yet now on land, my strength merely a little over one percent of my previous — I wanted to laugh in self ridicule — I now must bow my head and given in.

Why?

Betrayal.

Falling for the enemy!

The precious cup in my hand cracked, shattering.

My aura rose, anger boiled, threatening to engulf me in the memories once again.

"Y-y-young miss, p-p-p-lease calm your anger."

My eyes narrowed before falling on the servants trembling their posture bent each on their hands and knees while their forehead touched the ground.

Retracting my aura, I pursed my lips and closed my eyes.

This thing that happened today seems to have affected me. I almost forgot that I am an air breather now.

All because I, a Shark-kin has lost her; fins, fangs, and gills.

I am merely a Shark-kin in the mind never to be a true Shark-kin again.

My aura became gloomy before I once again suppressed it. "Young miss, your image.."

"En." I replied, tapping my wristband. Automatically, my image shifted back to the fake one. "Another glass of ice tea." I said. Quai immediately stepped forward, presenting a new cup filled a quarter of a finger from the top.

Taking a sip, I closed my eyes and rested.

"Young miss, let me help you clean your hands."

"Mm."

Presenting the small jade fingers, I allowed Quai girl to clean them. Her touch was cool. If I was in a better mood, I would have appreciated it, but now... There is no need.
