Delilah shook the umbrella as she stepped into the apartment building. She was leaving a trail of water behind her. The forecast had announced rain, but she had never expected a down-pour like that. The apartment building had a more or less clean foyer, where all the mail-boxes were. Delilah looked around while she made her way to the elevator. Camilla said she had denied the university housing, because she was living close to campus either way and had her two roommates she got along with well.

As Delilah arrived on the eighth floor, she walked towards the apartment which was last on the right in that hallway. After knocking, a small, black-haired woman opened her. She had a big smile on her face as she took Delilah in. Her black hair hung sleek down her shoulders and at that moment she was wearing a pair of sweats.

"Hi, you must be Delilah. Camilla is back in her room, why don't you come in?" She made way for Delilah and after pulling off her shoes, Delilah followed her. She hated to think in cliché, but the girl walking in front of her was really tiny.

"Here you go, I'm Maja by the way." She said after opening the door to Camilla's room.

Maja retreated into another part of the apartment. They had passed a small, open kitchen which lead into the living room. There was a huge sofa, many plants and a TV, all the essentials needed in a living room. They walked into a hallway which spread into four rooms. Maja's was the last and next to the bathroom.

Camilla sat in the middle of a pile of clothes on her floor. She was busy throwing stuff onto two different piles as Delilah stepped in.

"Hey, there you are!" Camilla stumbled trough a pile of clothes. "I already thought you got washed away by that terrible weather outside. I hope you're not mad that we will just hang out here tonight. No one wants to go out in that weather." A pair of leather pants flew towards Delilah's direction.

"Sorry, it's really chaotic right now. I am trying to get rid of some stuff to give it to good will. But honestly, this is no fun at all." Camilla held up a leather jacket, then threw it on another pile.

Camilla's room was not too big. She had shades of beige and dark green spread throughout the room. She seemed to have an affection for palms, since there were variations of sizes and forms standing around everywhere.

Delilah hung up her coat on a hanger and then plumped down on Camilla's bed. She languidly moved to sit, while watching Camilla hurry around the room.

"What is Logan doing right now anyways? He always had that stick up his ass." Camilla's mumbled last sentence made Delilah laugh.

"He is working in legal at some company. Seems like he enjoys the job pretty much." Talking about that made her remember Mark. The way he held himself so effortlessly elegant and towered over people, not just in physical height.

"Sounds boring as hell. He probably draws up contracts and tries to avoid lawsuits all the time. Anyways, I am going to order pizza for all of us. Still Parma?" Delilah nodded. Maja was standing in the empty room that sat next to Camilla's.

"Jamie moved out this week. She moved in with her girlfriend. I have never done something as exhausting as helping her move out. Girl has so much stuff, she would not notice if half of it vanished." Maja told her while measuring the wall. Camilla laughed in the back. She was on the phone with a pizza place. "Honestly. I still have about five outfits from her and I will keep them. Plus this room is freaking dirty. And now I have to clean it. We should call her and tell her to clean, not like that ever got us somewhere with her." Delilah picked up a damp cloth and helped cleaning a window frame from dust and dirty spots.

"I definitely see what you mean. But never think Camilla was not like that, she is only partially clean because I trained her in our freshmen year." Maja and her laughed when a small spoon came flying for Delilah.

After having cleaned the room a bit, the girls settled for sitting in front of the TV with their pizzas and watching a movie. They made fun of the characters and each other, talked about plans for the future. It was late when Delilah noticed she would have to get home. She felt unsafe calling an uber or a taxi, because she had heard the stories. So she called Logan.

"Sure, I'm stuck at the office anyways. We can pick you up on our way home." Delilah gave him the address and half an hour later he called her to get downstairs. Camilla told her to stay a million times, but Delilah much preferred the bed at her brother's place. She hated unfamiliar places.

"Hey Delilah." She let out a surprised sound as she noticed Mark sitting next to her in the back of the car. "I trust you had a nice evening."

"Jesus Christ Logan, you could have warned me!" Her brother simply laughed. While he and Adrian talked, Mark was focused on his phone and Delilah spent her time looking out the window.

She jumped slightly as she felt the gently brush of his hand on her outer leg. Marks long fingers gently picked a lint off of her jeans, held his hands there for a brief moment and then moved it away. Delilah looked at him and for the slightest moment they held their eye-contact, her breath was stolen. Their short moment was disrupted by Logan, who told her they would drop her at the apartment before running some errands.

"Sleep well, Delilah." Her name rolling off his tongue sent a shiver down her spine every time he said it. She would have to figure out if it was positive or negative now.
