Sitting at the edge of the bed, the girl looked at Noah and asked,
— Are you sure he's okay, Uncle?
Fusu shot a sidelong glance at Noah and replied,
— Of course... Well, at least I know he's breathing normally and his Qi flow is completely stable. With that in mind, I believe he's perfectly fine.
She turned her gaze back to her uncle and said,
— But he's been like this for several days...
After turning back to look at Noah, she continued,
— Do you think something happened to him after he saved me...?
"Well... as for that, I can't really say since I wasn't there at the time..."
The girl lay down beside Noah and, as she caressed his hair and smiled, she said,
— So, Uncle, I had promised to marry whoever freed me from this curse. But what if he never wakes up?
He rested his hand on his chin and said,
— Well, that really would be...
But as he spoke, he felt a sudden surge of Qi emanating from Noah's body. Noticing this, he was left speechless, staring wide-eyed at the boy.
"What was that...?!," Fusu thought, terrified.
Meanwhile, the girl was completely baffled to see her uncle seemingly paralyzed for some reason as he fixed his gaze on the boy beside her. Still fussing with Noah's hair, she asked,
— So, Uncle, what will happen if he never wakes up?
"Well... it seems that won't be a problem anymore."
"Huh? What do you mean by that?"
She turned after saying that, and when she looked at Noah, she realized that he didn't seem to like what she was doing, fixing his eyes on her with an oddly penetrating look.
For a moment, the girl got lost in Noah's gaze, but when he, with a calm voice and an impassive expression, asked,
— How long do you plan to keep this up?
she immediately stopped fiddling with his hair and, on impulse, got up—sitting on his side of the bed.
Noah rose as he stretched his body—luckily, this time he didn't seem to suffer the same issues he had when he helped Sophia—and let out a sigh of relief. Then he looked at the two people surrounding him and asked,
— ...Where is that old man?
Hearing the tone in which Noah addressed him, Fusu replied irritably,
— Ah, you...
But before her uncle could finish, the girl smiled and said,
— He's not around here right now.
"Huh?"
Noah stood up and, while walking around the bed, said,
— Well, whatever. I've already done my part of the deal, so I'm just going to take what's mine and get out of here.
After saying that, he glanced at the bedside table next to the bed and picked up the small black purse that lay there. Stretching his arms upward, Noah walked calmly toward the door of the room, without even looking at those present.
Once he had left, the girl turned to her uncle and asked,
— ...Is that it...? Did he just leave like that?
"Well, technically he doesn't have anything left to do here. Besides, he doesn't even know about the wedding ceremony..."
The girl turned around, leaping off the bed, and said,
— I'll be right back.
Her uncle, visibly confused, asked,
— What? What are you talking about? Where are you going?
"Isn't it obvious? I'm going to talk to my fiancé."
She said this as she walked through the door. For a moment, the girl paused, turned, and added,
— And you don't have to follow me. After all, you yourself said there are no beasts around here, right?
Completely baffled, the only thought that occurred to him was,
'Fiancé? What fiancé? Didn't you just say you didn't want to get married moments ago…?'
