Chapter 7 - The life of a Pirate

The long old rope that was tied to the anchor was squeezing the anchor's old frame, giving the impression that the ship would capsize in seconds. The heavy anchor twitched and made a "clang clang" sound since it was swaying back and forth hitting the boat.

The dark sea swayed left and right causing a ruckus on deck, the pirates on deck were affected by the swaying of the ship. As the boat swayed they swayed involuntarily, but the soles of their feet were firmly rooted on the ship.

"This ship is broken badly, I'm really afraid that while we are at sea, we'll drown suddenly."

A Bearded Pirate pulled the old rope hard with his arms, 2 other pirates helped, struggling to secure the anchor onto the boats. While muttering complaints ferociously: "This broken old ship is captain Viah's treasure, I heard from an older crewmate that every time the ship has been damaged, the captain brings it to him for repairs, he specifically asks for it to be in its original condition no more no less, even if the damage is big or small, everything is required to be intact, so except for the fact that the ship is getting weaker and weaker by the day, everything is the same as when it first touched the salty waters."

A/N: that's a big ass block of text

"I know, it's just that the condition of the ship is TERRIBLE!."

One of the pirates that were pulling up the anchor looked to the surface of the sea. His eyes suddenly widened then blinked, He then widened his eyes, wondering, "There is a shadow under the boat, is that a reef?."

"There's Nothing there." Another Pirate stretched his head out of the boat and looked down. "The heat from all this work must be frying your brain, take a look for yourself, there's nothing down there, Idiot."

The pirate then looked over his shoulder checking if there was anyone around him. He found that no one was there. He then lowered his voice and asked sneakily, "Is what first mate Lowe said true? Bill and that bastard Caht were killed and the murderer in on the boat?"

"Bill and Caht must be dead, if they weren't then they would be on the boat already." An old-looking pirate said interjecting the tone is also very gloomy: "On this island, no one has found anything, not even a corpse, In my opinion, the only person who could do this is the captain, don't tell anyone this, and if you do, don't say I told you. ."

Several of the pirates on the deck were silent, looking thoughtfully at each other. They all had a chilling look on their faces.

In the great age of pirates, being a pirate is not easy as well as making a good pirate crew, you need a navigator, and other high-end talents on board your ship, not to mention the danger that is at sea, Sea Kings, Giant man-eating birds, etc, these things are enough to drive any pirate to suicide

Drawing a chart? Determining the Rout of the journey? Labeling the coordinates? Forecasting the weather?

This is the hell all pirates must endure, peace is completely non existent on the dark and stormy seas!

For everyone in the Viah pirate crew, once the ship leaves the island, it can be regarded as non-existent, as long as the island disappears from their sight, that island will just be a figment of their imagination, people move on and forget, that's just how humans are.

While it may be the case that the term Viah Pirates can be considered derogatory in the eyes of the "adventurers" like Luffy etc, but for them, they are great navigator's that explore the sea's

So in the eyes of Marlin, a two-month voyage is simply a bet on his life. If he doesn't pay attention to his surroundings, he might get lost at sea forever, and then starve to death due to hunger.

Even though where they are at right now is not the dangerous sea king infested waters of the grand line, and only a mere corner of the east blue, which is counted as something that even rookies can pass through, Marlin isn't going to risk lazing around just because there is no danger

Not to mention monster's with plot armor like Luffy, Shanks, and his crew, even buggy, are inhabiting this weak sea, it's best to be careful

Marlin looked disgusted as he entered the cramped cabin.

The dim space was 30 meters long, 3 meters wide, and 2 meters high, the weak wood that held the place together seemed to be repaired, and most of the boards had filthy bedding, the bedding had brown and black colors all over it, not to mention the disgusting smell coming from it, it was like a mix of rotten meat, damp water, and sweat but much, much worse.

Marlin looked pale as he was lying on the bed near the door, although he chose the bed closest to the door, thankfully the door was rotten and had some holes in them, they provided some ventilation; it helped with the smell as well, but those holes weren't big enough to get rid of the smell completely, it only helped very little, it was helpful nonetheless.

The oil lamp that was frequently flickering finally went out. The cabin was then plunged into darkness. A few pirates cursed under their breath while playing cards. Various grunts could be heard coming from them. They then stopped playing cards and went to bed.

This harsh environment can be compared to the time Marlin was kidnapped by traffickers when he was younger in his last life. Just like in his left life, he was confined in a cabin that was dark and dirty.

He slowly closed his eyes, forcing himself to ignore the smell coming from the beds in the cabin, at the same time, his body kept shaking thanks to the waves shaking the boat, since he couldn't sleep with so many distractions, he decided to take this chance to think of his next plan.

"William is already set for death, Just a little more and he will be dead; first mate lowe is smarter than I anticipated, the troublesome thing about smart people is that they are good at restraining reckless impulses, It seems the scale of my plan has increased a bit, the number of people that will die later on with 1 no 2 hmm maybe 3 if everything goes perfectly as planned."

"The person I need to keep my eye on the most is captain Viah, no doubt he is the strongest person on this ship. In addition, he gives me an eerie feeling. Before Bill and caht died, they said something about the captain's secret. What could the secret be? This secret must be important, I estimate that Lowe know's this secret as well, this secret could be some secret weapon that I don't know about, this can hinder my plan of eliminating lowe."

This is like a hunter hunting its prey, instead, the roles are switched.
