"How is she doctor?" the voice was of an anxious man.
"Very critical, the accident has caused several and severe internal bleeding. It would be a miracle if she survives"
"Please do something and make the miracle come true" the voice of a crying woman.
"We can try operating her but it will be risky."
"Then please try taking that risk" said the man's voice.
" What does her husband say"
"To hell with him. This whole accident was planned by him and now I'm on the verge of losing my only daughter. Oh God please help us".
"Mr. Andrews, your daughter has a very slim chance of survival but we cannot keep quiet for it. We have to do all that we can to help save her. If we are to operate on her we need her husband's consent"
"OK OK. How long does she have? "
" I suggest we get ready for the surgery now and you can contact her husband and get his signature in an hour or two, is it OK with you? "
Both the man and woman were quiet as they knew their son-in-law was not in the country and would only be back next week. Even if they E-mail ed the papers he would claim he never got it.
" Mr. Andrews you brought your daughter to this hospital at midnight and asked for help as a doctor I couldn't say no and we have given her first aid, but I work in this hospital and I can't be without following the rules. "
" If anything bad, I hope it doesn't happen, but in case if anything goes wrong I or the hospital should not be blamed by your family. We pretty well know you are one of the topmost richest family in the country but I am helpless here without her husband's consent. Please understand"
"Doctor, if your worried about the blame game I promise you it won't happen. She must live at all cost. I'm willing to spend all my fortune on her survival. She's my only daughter and I can't let that bastard son-in-law of mine win like this.
All through the conversation she was quiet as the pain was killing her but she heard every word that was said. She didn't know what was going to happen but she knew it was the ending of her life.
