I looked her, there was something that I didn't understand, I asked her why my mom hasn't woken up yet, couldn't she buy her treatments. She looked at me, then at the doctor, the doctor nodded. She told me that my mother has caught a rare disease that puts her to sleep for who knows how long, it could be days, weaks, and maybe even decades. My soul sunk, sleep forever, even if she isn't dead, being unable to wake up for decades is equally as worse. I shook her, isn't there a cure, can't you pay for someone to find a cure, please. She shook her head and started to cry, she hugged me, I was broken, shaken to the core, lost in a pool of sadness, I cried for hours.
I was discharged from the hospital, but I didn't leave the hospital yet, instead I went to go see mom. She was pale, I went up to her and grabbed her hand, they were cold. It melted my heart, at that moment all I wanted to do was be right there and sleep the eternal sleep with her. Aunt Minty came in the room, she cupped my hands and told me that she was going to take of me from now on. I nodded, but I was still sad, I didn't want to be far away from mom when she wakes up, I asked her if we could live at the apartment, she nodded. She was planning on doing that from the start, she understood that it would be better that way.
We went at the front of the apartment, she told me that she was going to get her stuff, I asked her if I could go walk around and take a breather, she nodded but told be to come back at dinner time. I started walking, I heard Aunt Minty tell to stay safe, I told her I would. I went and sat on the swings, he wasn't here, I saw three reasons why he wasn't here, the first one was because he couldn't and was forced to stay at home, the second one was because he lost his safe spot and couldn't come back here anymore, and the third is because I was at the hospital for to long and stopped coming after reckon that I was to scared to come back. It didn't matter to me, this is still a safe space for me and will always be a safe space.
Somebody was shaking me, I opened my eyes, there were to people, one was boy and I guess he had his sister with him, she looked around three. Boy told me that this might be the last time we see eachother so he wanted to give me something, he handed me a hot wheels, it was a small truck and a bit rusty. I looked at him, he thanked me for being his friend, my heart skipped a beat. He picked up his sister and walked into the setting sun, I was already sad about my mom's case and now had someone called me their friend for the first time in years, I was in tears. I swallowed and opened my mouth, I yelled thank you for being my friend I hope we meet again, he yelled back, I heard in his voice that he was crying to, he said I wish we can meet again to.
