Knocked on his back, Hoshiro woke up and was utterly confused.
“Where the ef am I?” Asked Hoshiro.
Surrounding him was a group of men and a single woman, all dressed in medieval armour and carrying swords and shields.
Embarrassed and totally shocked, Hoshiro crawl back and pushed away with his legs and came around to stand up.
“Where am I?” He asked again.
“si majo hasharata, munihe chomadan.” Said the female, who seems to be the party leader.
“Ok… I know that is not English…. How the heck did I end up here….” He looked around and saw trees to all sides of him. “in a FOREST! Where are my classmates?” This time, his tone sounded wavering and unsure.
Suddenly the ground beneath Hoshiro lit up with incantation writing in the form of several circles . The lines lifted up to about knee high and Hoshiro was hit with a gust of wind. Then the magic circle disappeared.
The female leader let down her hand as she completed the spell.
“There, can you hear me now?”
“Wow! Perfect Japanese. How is that possible?”
“I configured the spell so that we can communicate through ideas rather than language. As our ancient tongue maybe of different phonetics to your language.”
“Wait, ancient language? Do you speak Latin or something?”
“What is Latin?”
“Nevermind…… How did I get here?”
“Ah, yes. We summoned a portal specifically targeting to get the hero who will save Londawn.”
“Hero? Londawn?”
“You are the Hero that has been prophesized about from the diviners. Londawn is in dire need of a hero to fend off the attacks of Kaguwa, the Demon Lord.”
“Wait, wait, demon?” Hoshiro rose his eyebrows, then sighed heavily.
“Okay, okay. Where are the cameras. Because this is getting really bad, really fast.”
“What do you mean? What are cameras?”
Hoshiro then said. “I’m sure the armour you guys have is just decoration and not real steel.” He drifted his hand to touch the shoulder pauldron of the female leader and found it cold and heavy to the touch.
“F*ck….” Hoshiro swore. And quickly withdrew his hand.
“Let us first introduce ourselves. I am Merillion of Londawn. These are my trusted men and magicians who have come to summon you in the Forest of Twilight, as predicted in the prophesy. If you can lend us your strength, oh great one, we would definitely appreciate your help.”
Dudette…… I don’t know any magic spells or even have weapons…. How the heck am I suppose to defeat this Demon Lord you speak of? I just turned 18. Life is just starting for me… suicide is not on my top priority of things to do.
Thought Hoshiro to himself.
“I am Hoshiro Kawasaki from the Kanegawa area in Japan. I don’t know how I can save your world as I have no special talent to speak of. Maybe in track and field…. I run pretty fast.”
“Welcome Hoshiro of Kanegawa. I can tell you more of the lay of the land if that’s what you wish. Londawn is one of 6 kingdoms in the land of Sorhalon. We neighbour the Demon realm, the fairy realm, the beastmaster realm, the elven realm, and the dwarven realm. Currently, the Demon Lord Kaguwa has launched an all out attack on all of the kingdoms and is taking over control of all of Sorhalon. You must help us to defeat him. If not, we will surely all perish.”
“Look, I don’t know how I got here and honestly, I’m not a hero, or even the hero type. Are you sure you have the right person?”
“We are sure of it.”
“And I am sure I am not the hero you’re looking for.”
“But you must help us. To have gotten this far in fulfilling the prophesy, we cannot turn back on all the progress we have made. If we wait any longer to retaliate, then Londawn may be doomed forever.
“Hmmm. Let’s see how you summoned me. I’m curious as to how that works. Summon the portal once again and convince me that I’m the chosen hero.
“Deal.”
With that Merilion hurried to her magicians and instructed them to construct another portal.
Oh my God…. I just want to get out of here and back home. No intention of staying here. Com’on Com’on. Just summon the damn portal already……
Hoshiro thought to himself.
As soon as the portal opens, he would make his escape. At least that is how he planned it in his head. But little did he know that he is indeed about to become the hero of the land.
