Elizabeth and James woke up the next morning with the rising sun, tangled together. The messenger would reach the pack in a few hours, if he hadn’t already. So James decided they would wait in their room until he did.
James had explained, in both his letters to Bass and Katrina, that one of the reasons he was calling the wedding off was that he had found his mate. That would be enough for Katrina to understand. In his letter to Bass, he had also explained that Elizabeth was the woman he had met years ago, though she still couldn’t remember him.
James had felt, for some strange reason, late last night that he should send a message to Kenneth, too. So he had gotten out of bed to dispatch another letter, Elizabeth sending one for Ayla as well.
Now, they lay curled together, in the hazy aftermath of the bond being solidified.
