Chapter 30: Revenge

I begin to panic but then stop myself.

I need to keep calm. I need to figure this out.

I try a couple of spells to figure out what’s wrong or fix his symptoms but nothing I do seems to work. Maybe it’s a werewolf thing, I think. I have to get him to Quentin as soon as possible.

I do a spell to lift him up and carry him and it works. I know I’m not physically strong enough to take him back to the house myself.

He writhes in pain as I lead him back mid-air and my heart breaks with each groan he makes. As we near the steps of the house, I see two other werewolves on the ground, acting the same way as Rick. Now I am very alarmed and I gently lead Rick inside to the front room to lie down on the couch. I run through the house to find Carl on the stairs, half shifting and moaning in pain.

I run as fast as I can to the middle of town, hoping to seek out Quentin but all of the pack members are suffering the same fate. Every. Single. One.

There can only be one explanation.
