Chapter 56: There's No Place Like Home

“I’m sorry, what?” I reply.

Is she really clairvoyant, or is she just on a fishing expedition for my true intentions? Does she somehow know about the gift I’ve been given by the Great Mother?

“Are you a good witch or a bad witch?” she asks. Her question is so outrageous, I’m not sure if she’s serious or not.

“Raven is good, through and through,” my father answers for me, which irritates me a little, but I know he means well so I let it slide.

Seraphina suddenly puts the back of her hand to her forehead and sighs deeply in a dramatic fashion. I hear Carl snort behind me but I manage to keep a straight face.

“I’ve grown very weak from all these premonitions and I need to rest. Thank you for the introduction, Alpha. I will be seeing you again soon, Raven,” she tells us, then flounces back on her array of pillows.

Once we reach the bottom of the tower, my father turns to me with a smile.

“What did you think of Seraphina?” he asks.
