And with the boom of technology came the age of Deep Dive Virtual Reality (DDVR/VR).

Introduced in the year 2057, VR's popularity and importance were quickly realized by many.

From games where people could earn a living and mostly spend their time, to applications used for meetings instead of physically going to your office. Some even say that only one's imagination is the limitation of VR.

And it was because of one's imagination that even the execution of death row convicts has also transcended reality.

Hopeful Homicide. Introduced in the year 2058, is a Virtual Reality death game where death row convicts around the world are forced to play with the promise of freedom and help of giving the winners a fresh start. As well as "cleansing" their soul.

Now in its ninth year, Grayson L. Riego has no choice but to participate in this brutal death game.

Hopeful Homicide

Even though I feel that this rectangular wide area is a safe place, the opposite could be true, and going here could be the worst possible decision we have made. But, it's not like there is anything else we could do now.

The number of those angry-looking cherry bombs waiting on the ground also increased in all four of the pathways we could take. Luckily, none of those angry things reached passed the end of the path they are in.

Though far from our location, we could hear some explosions caused by those angry-looking cherry monsters. Somehow, I could also hear the distinct sound that potato walls make as they either bury themselves in the ground or emerge from it. As well as the sound of one of them dragging itself to chase players. Other than those noises, I haven't heard any sound from a player aside from Siti and me.
