Unbothered

Seconds felt like an eternity as the thin needles kept on flying past us. The whoosh they made and the sound of the needles breaking as they hit my rope, replaced the fluttering sound and squeaks of the bats that were stored in my head. Even though I was in pain, I was still thinking about Karen's bomb and how much of a waste it was.

Hiding behind the pile of my hundred-meter-long and indestructible rope, there was nothing else for me to do than wait for the horde to end and wander in my thoughts.

The needles flew in the same direction as the first two hordes. A behavior that is similar to all of the hordes we've faced so far. What changed is that, instead of monsters that are vulnerable to our poison gas, the tower sent a swarm of inanimate objects. But, the pattern I noticed could be a trap to trick us into believing that all the hordes will behave in such a manner, for them to release a horde that has a random pattern and catch most of us off guard.
