The Aurigan Solution combines the fast pace of hard-core science fiction with the complexity of political intrigue, and its focus is the historical framework of the future in which it is set.  The story chronicles a specific set of incidents that leads directly to the downfall of Humanity’s first star-spanning government - the so-called Luna Republic.
When the alien war had finally ended, a great sense of relief and optimism characterized the mood of the Human Stellar Network.  But this optimism soon gave way to disillusionment when the great oligarchs who sat in control of the Luna government did nothing to alleviate the senseless quotas and trade restrictions and, of course, burdensome taxes.  Agitation soon began.  It needed only a situation of suitable volatility to set in motion the changes that must take place.
There are moments in time around which history often swings; this story is about a few of them.

Bolton sat and watched scan for a full minute or more before he realized that he was the only one who could shut down Armscomp.  Most Human/Lakamite confrontations ended in the total annihilation of one side or the other.


Dreamtime slowed.  The key slid in easier than he remembered.  Three quick turns to the right and that was it Ñ Armscomp was off.  Bolton realized at the moment that the war must finally and truly be over.  That everything they had fought for was finally achieved.  It hit him like a sledgehammer blow.  He kept his hand on the key while looking at the screens, fully expecting the Lakamites to resume the battle.  They did not.  Instead, a transmission was received, and discourse opened between ships computers.  Within seconds a video was set up.
