Chapter 58: Epilogue

It was a gala affair. A ten thousand dollar a plate fundraiser for the Republican Party, and the biggest of the big wigs were all there. All the Senators of the Executive Cabinet made the rounds, pressing the soft hands of CEOs and smiling politician smiles. Judge Singh himself was there, splendidly decked in a flowing brocade robe, enjoying the exuberance of a Republican resurgence in the polls, confident of sweeping electoral victories in the elections less than a month away.

Ice tinkled merrily in crystal glasses and a string quartet played Mozart in the corner. A huge tri-d screen along one whole wall showed beautiful earthscape scenes. It was the latest innovation in programming by the Luna Cable Network, whose CEO sat at one of the tables.
