We stayed another day so I could gather some strength, then the healers gracefully lent us a small wagon so we could travel. My back had been healed by the phoenix tears in the water but had left angry, ragged scars from the base of my neck to my hips, with some wrapping around my sides. Remarkably, the scars didn't itch or burn unless I touched them.
As we were finishing packing the wagon, I was helped into the back, and a healer quietly said to Talon,
"Watch her, you saw what happened in the water."
I paused and looked at Talon, waiting for an explanation. He didn't give one but dismissed the healer with a nod of his head. With Glendrig at the reins, the wagon began to move, the winter prince and Knights mounted to follow.
"So, I guess I should call you, Your Highness, now?" I said casually to Talon as he rode beside the wagon.
He barely glanced at me while he shook his head, "You can call me Talon. I like that name."
He paused, "You knew for a while?"
