Is She Staying Here?

"What now?" I asked myself.

A while ago, Yamazuki and I got caught in a rain. Since my house was close, she decided to take shelter here. The rain didn't seem like it'd stop soon.

I looked at Yamazuki, she was soaking wet. I could almost see her skin through her uniform. I averted my eyes quickly.

"Your clothes are pretty wet, you should change them before you get cold," I said while looking at the ceiling. If I tried to look at her, my eyes might see something forbidden.

Wait, wait, wait. Why did I just say that? How would she change? She didn't bring extra clothes, did she? Oh gosh, why did I say that?

I started to panic. I took a deep breath to calm myself down. Even though it did work, but I was still panicking.

"I can't. I don't have extra clothes." She replied.

I knew it.

I went towards the shower and took a towel. Since we were soaking wet, drying your head was a must. I gave the towel to Yamazuki.

"Here, dry yourself first. I can manage some clothes."

With that, I went to my room upstairs. I had another towel which was hanging on my balcony. I grabbed the towel and quickly dried my hair. I quickly grabbed two pairs of T-shirts and two pairs of trousers.

After changing my clothes, I went downstairs with a T-shirt and a pair of trousers for Yamazuki.

Yamazuki was sitting on my sofa and was drying her hair with the towel I gave her. I went towards her.

"Here you go, they're clean, so don't worry," I said while holding the clothes in front of her.

"No thanks," She immediately refused.

"Ok then, enjoy your fever," I replied, putting the clothes on the sofa.

I went to the kitchen to make some coffee for myself. Soon, I heard a sneeze.

I smirked.

"You can change in my room if you want to. It's upstairs" I said.

Yamazuki picked up the clothes with an irritated face and went upstairs, it seemed like she didn't have any other choice but to wear those clothes.

Should I tell her to call someone to get her? I don't want her to stay here any longer. Fuchizawa would be the best option, Ishizaki's good too.

I heard some footsteps behind me. I turned around and saw Yamazuki, wearing my full sleeve T-shirt. To be honest, my heart skipped a beat there.

"Where are your clothes?" I asked.

"Hmm? Oh, it's upstairs."

"Put them in the dryer."

"Oh, ok."

With that, she again went upstairs. My clothes were upstairs too, but I didn't put them in since I didn't have any hurry.

She came back with the wet clothes in her hand and put them in the dryer which was located inside the bathroom.

"Wait, how'd you know the dryer was there?" I asked.

"Oh, I washed my face there a moment ago."

"I see."

"By the way, your clothes were upstairs. Won't you dry them as well?"

"It's fine, I can do that any time."

With that, I went towards the stairs. I needed to do something important.

"Oh," I stopped, "You can watch some TV, or read the book you just borrowed to kill time."

"Oh, ok." She replied.

...

"Hello?"

"What did you tell Fuchizawa?" I asked.

The person I was talking with was my dad. I needed to know what he was up to.

"Oh, you've figured that out already. Impressive." He replied.

"Oh god, please shut up. Tell me why did you do this?" I said. The way he was talking pissed me off.

"You just told me to shut up."

"Did you tell Fuchizawa that I killed my own mom?"

"I see. So, you've figured that-"

I hung up the call and punched the walk with my fist out of anger and frustration, which made a loud thudding noise.

Damn that father, why'd he tell something like that? Is he crazy?

I looked at the clock, it was 6 pm. Which meant that it was 3 am in the USA. It was an odd time to pick up someone's call and talk so calmly. There was a high chance that he was in Japan.

I unlocked my door which I locked just before I called my dad. I didn't want anyone to hear our conversation.

"Let's see." I looked at my phone to call my sister. "I think she's awake right now."

And I was right. She almost immediately picked up my call.

"Oh my, Ashiro Kaname called me?" She replied.

"Yes yes, I called Kumiko Kaname, now stop the drama."

"Hmm? So what's up?"

"I need your help."

I explained the whole thing to her, she was listening very curiously. Which wasn't a good sign.

"I see." She replied. "Big bro, Do you like he-"

I hung up the phone. I wanted her help, not her humor.

She called me again, but I didn't pick up. Instead, I messaged her that I'd call her later.

Kumiko wouldn't be staying up late if my dad was home. She picked up the phone at this time which made my suspicion grow higher.

I went downstairs. Where I saw Yamazuki watching TV. To be honest, I didn't expect her to read the book

"So, why don't you call someone?" I asked.

"Hmm? Call who?"

"Are you dumb? Call your friends or your parents to pick you up or are you planning to stay here from now?"

"Eh- of course not."

"Ok then, I am calling Ishizaki to pick you up."

"But my clothes aren't dry yet."

"Do you want to stay here for another 30 minutes?"

"I need those clothes..."

"Aren't your parents worried?"

"They aren't home yet."

"Owh, I see."

I wanted to send her home as soon as possible since it was getting awkward. Or it was just me who felt awkward.

"Yamazuki, are you hungry?" I asked.

I was feeling kind of hungry too since I'd only drunk some coffee. I drank 3 cups of coffee today. Which wasn't a great thing to do.

"Uh, yeah," Yamazuki replied. "Do you have some snacks?"

"I was thinking of making dinner, it's almost dinner time, you know."

"It's still early."

I didn't answer her question and went towards her.

"Do you need something?"

"Since, I'm going to hang out with you guys from now. Why not change contact numbers?" I said, holding my phone in front of her.

"Oh, sure." She replied, "Give me your phone."

I gave her my phone and went towards the kitchen.

"What shall we cook today?" I murmured.
