Lana didn't say anything. She could already imagine what Bella's reaction would be if she found out that Zale would withdraw as her bodyguard.

"I'm sorry, madam. I'll excuse myself. Zale apologized for the umpteenth time and literally left Lana alone, imagining what would happen next.

Zale returned to his room in the back shed. He has extensive connections. Many of his friends hoped to be Bella's bodyguard but never had the chance.
