Another dark day in hell on my way back to the recruitment agency. I've been trying to get into the army troops, but the recruiters said that I didn't have the build to be a soldier.
"You have a woman's build, you are not fit for the army," they said. And, as expected, they sent me away again.
Instead of going back to the army recruitment, I figured I might as well go to the job recruitment agency. I'm tired of endlessly trying to get into the army only to fail. As soon as I opened the door to the recruiter, I knew it wasn't a good place to be. Ridden with souls, bugs, and Demons, there weren't even places to sit and wait. I'm standing against the wall waiting for my turn in this long line of demons when in the corner of my eye, I see a demon with a black hood and red eyes staring at me like he's looking into my soul.
The weird thing is, we demons don't even have souls, that's the reason why we eat the souls of dead humans that come to hell. Surprisingly, there are many human souls for us to feed on, but we don't need them to survive, so we mostly just let them roam the streets.
Eventually, it was my turn to try and find a job. I was suddenly stopped by a huge male demon, who asked if I was free at midnight. But of course, I said no, and tried to get past him. He then grabbed me and pinned me up against the wall, seemingly angry that I refused him. His eyes glinted with nothing short of malice as he leaned down towards me and said, "Are you sure about that little miss? I just want to have a few drinks with you until the hell flames rise." I paused for a moment, "I think you've got it wrong. I'm a boy, and I just want to find a job. I'm also only 119 years old."
He stopped, and let go of me. He thought about it for a moment. As he was thinking I tried slipping away when he blocked me again. He said, "I don't care about your gender, I think you're cute and I want to get to know you a little." He then started to pin me against the wall again, but the hooded man grabbed his arm and threw him across the room knowing I was getting too uncomfortable. The man in the hood looked over to the guy and said, "He already refused you, take the hint." I tried thanking him for helping me, but before I could utter a single word, he was gone. I could tell the woman that called me was not very patient because she had fallen asleep. I woke her up, but she just yelled at me angrily, saying, "Why the hell… You do understand we need to get to other demons looking for a job, so if you ever come back to this agency you need to hurry up." I walked into the room and sat down on a dilapidated chair, covered with splinters. The woman who was at the desk looked at me up and down. I tried to start talking but she stopped me and said, "Honey I already know where to put you just tell me your age, phone number, and your first and last name." Stuttering, I replied, "But I haven't even told you what type of job I am looking for...'' The woman just squinted at me and said, "Young man, you're a boy right?... Whatever, I don't care what type of job you want, you belong in the palace staff as a servant for the young prince Itsuki Roscus." I knew by the look on her face that I wasn't going to be able to change her mind. I thought about it for a moment and knew I didn't have any other option because I had just left my childhood home a few months ago and I was running out of money to pay the rent. I looked at her, nodded, and told her, "my name is Jiko Igaron I am 119 years old, and here is my number 666-768-7656" she knew that I was in a tough spot because usually, demons stay with their parents until they are 121 years old so she had me start tomorrow.
At home, I quickly pack all my things and start studying the rules. Rule1: only speak when spoken to, Rule 2: Do not go into the throne room when the doors are closed, Rule 3: No disrespecting the guests or staff… There are 400 rules to get through and not enough time to memorize them.
