Progress

[I am going through. Want to join?]

"Hell yeah!"

"Wait! How are you even planning that?!"

These two are clearly fools. Well, I can't really blame them. This place looks horrible. I slowly release both of them. Keeping a watchful eye for any sudden or weird movement.

[First thing first. I have a tamed creature that I want to bring here. How do I disable this alarm here?]

"Where is it?"

"It could be hard to do."

[What's difficult?]

"Well, I can see two ways to get rid of it. The first one is to destroy the core directly."

[So just crush it?]

I raise my hand.

"No, wait! If you do that it will send them a signal!"

[I see. What's the second method?]

"To remove all the energy it contains. Draining it should be counted as normal wear rather than tampering with it."

[I see then I'll just …]

"No, wait! People go insane from that! The raw energy contained inside is boundless!"

"Yeah, that would be suicide."

[What even is that thing anyway?]

"A blessing."

[Wait that black thing is the blessing?! I thought it was the magic you guys used?!]

"Well, it is both in a way."

"Yes, it is that little gem that powers all our formations and the most powerful spells."

[Wait, spells? Didn't you say that one loses his mind from using the energy contained inside?]

"Yeah, but you can either craft an artifact with it or use it for a big suicide attack."

[Why would anyone do that?!]

"Historically we humans used to be so weak we were dying either way. Back then it was better to sacrifice yourself than just die a worthless death."

[True.]

"Where are you from anyway?"

"Hey, don't ask any sensitive questions!"

Time for a small lie.

After seeing the sub-pocket dimensions this should be believable.

[Some space magic accident brought me to these mountains. I'm trying to return to civilization.]

"What?! You can use space magic?!"

"This is amazing!"

[Just a tiny bit actually.]

"Still awesome!"

"Wait, can you use space magic on the blessing?!"

[Would that help?]

"If you can manage to put it in a sub-space or something it would break the link without triggering the alarm!"

"When did you get so smart?!"

"Fuck you! I've been researching how to run away as soon as there were rumors of the general looking for the culprits!"

"Why didn't you run dumbass!"

"Because it would have been too obvious idiot!"

"Makes sense you bastard!"

Let me try this. House summon! I call it out right outside the tower. Then I pick up the gem and throw it inside. I do so with a form so perfect I could be mistaken for a baseball pitcher. Then as it starts falling down, I unsummon it.

[How is that?]

"Oh my god!"

"Mister...are you an archmage?"

[What do you think?]

"For sure! Holy crap I spoke with such a master!"

"Tch. Stop overreacting. On that note, could you sign my chest please?"

They start arguing again. Could it be that I'm actually strong in this world? My experiences so far have been a lot of running. Running from a ghost, running from a volcano, running from a dragon. While I did run from a wolf too, I defeated him in the end.

Still, I need to be a minimum careful. Don't want to become a young-master-type character that gets insta-killed.

[*Shout* Alright you can come now!]

Soon afterward appears the Queen Wyvern in all her glory. She fixes the two humans directly. They seem frozen. That is when I hear a dripping sound.

[Did you just…]

"That is your pet?!"

"Incredible!"

[For a second, I thought you had pissed yourself haha.]

"Oh, I did. Totally. But still, I win."

"…"

[What do you mean?]

"Because that other dumbass shat himself haha!"

"Fuck you! You don't have proof!"

Oh my freaking god. That's kinda crass. The wyvern struts proudly.

"See! This is the reaction humans are supposed to have when meeting me!"

[I see that. Actually, I slightly smell it too now.]

A few minutes later they are back as if nothing ever happened. Honestly, it's impressive how thick their skin is.

[Alright, now we just have to deal with the killing formation. Any ideas?]

"I mean you are the archmage. I wouldn't know."

"Same."

A natural formation would prove extremely troublesome, but this one perhaps easier. I know for a fact what the core of it exactly is. Either I destroy that or I forcefully attack it until it runs out of energy.

[Do these guys have some backup cores?]

"Cores?"

[Blessings.]

"Oh yeah, tons. They receive a new supply often too."

Fuck. *Sigh* Whatever. Let's figure it out later.

[Pick up all your stuff we are leaving!]

They don't move an inch.

[I said pick up…]

"We don't have anything to bring."

"All that is here are mushrooms really. Fuck mushrooms."

This guy would show potential. He already has the hate flowing through him. ;) Thus we depart. Flying. Me on her back. The two others in her claws getting carried like luggage. Passing through a very big tunnel toward our quest!

[Wait, why didn't they just install the barrier here directly?]

"Oh, fun fact. Killing formations go in disarray easily in the mountains."

He sounds pretty calm for a guy just hanging there.

[Why?]

"No idea. It just is like that. We lost many soldiers to that actually."

Wow! Talk about a sad way to go. Friendly fire. Not even in a heated war. Just guarding a place and suddenly...dead.

Before long we reach the end of the tunnel. Before our eyes appears a huge dark wall made of smoke. Energy seems to be crackling inside. It reaches an unbelievable height. Still, there is something weird.

[It's totally possible to fly right above it, right?]

"Oh, no. It just looks that way."

[How come?]

The wyvern answers.

"You just can't fly above it. Flight is restricted for some reason."

[Let me guess you found that out the hard way?]

She nods. Well, I guess if I can't go above, I can only go right through. That was my initial plan anyways.

Let's see who's stronger between me and some dumb barrier!
