The ex, Jax

Morning came and the sun shone on Hye-Ri's face from hee window. She had forgotten to close the curtains last night because she was looking at the stars, thinking about Suga's offer of living together. It had been exactly a month since his offer and she has still not decided whether to move in or not. Hye-Ri was only sure of one thing and this is Suga, but living together was too fast for her to digest.

She stretched a little from her bed and got up the second later opening the cupboard in her kitchen to brew herself some coffee... only to find out that her stock is now empty. Hye-Ri groaned and looked at her fridge to see if there is anything needed so she could restock on her groceries.

"I don't even have anything for breakfast either..." She clicked her tongue and got to the sink to wash her face and changed clothes. It was chilly still in the morning, so she pulled out her hoodie and a cap.

On her way to the grocery store, she was drawn to the smell of korean toast from a street vendor and decided to buy two; she brought her phone out and sent Suga a picture of the toast being cooked asking him if he's awake and bought him breakfast. She included in the text that she's on the way to the grocery store because she ran out of coffee.

But there were no replies.

"Maybe he's still sleeping..." she mumbled to herself and when the toast was done, she started eating her share and started walking again to the grocery store.

In there, she brought her coffee, few toiletries, and food enough to last her for a week. After packing her groceries, she found a coffee vending machine and bought one. While waiting for her coffee, she felt a tap on her shoulder behind her.

She turned, and immediately regretted it.

"Jax." She gasped, looking at the man in front of her.

"Hye-Ri! My cherry, what a beautiful morning to start with!" His voice got a little loud that some of the bystanders looked at them and whispered.

Hye-Ri sighed, trying to calm her self down and didn't bother to give him another look and picked up her coffee.

"my..my... I thought you hated coffee vending machines?" He walked towards Hye-Ri in an unstable manner and almost stumbled.

"The fuck do you want, Jax?" She hissed.

The man in front of her laughed, the smell of alcohol reeking out of his system made Hye-Ri wince. "Still a feisty little bitch aren't you?"

Hye-Ri turned and started walking away from the guy when he grabbed her wrist and turned her forcefully, spilling hot coffee to her hand making her drop the cup.

She yelped in pain.

"Hye-Ri, don't you remember what I do when you turn your back to me?" He leaned in closer and whispered the threat to her ears.

Hye-Ri could only glare, more people started to whisper and she didn't want the attention. She tried to pull her hand away, but Jax only tightened his grip.

"Don't make a scene here, Jax." Hye-Ri told him in the most calm way possible, preventing him from doing things that may affect her or somewhere in the future.

"Since, you asked nicely. I will." He let go of her hand, now red from his grip and from the burn of the coffee. "For now." He continued and took her groceries and food from her hand. In her anger, she kicked his shin and grabbed her things and ran, leaving Jax cursing on the floor.

Now, she can't go back to her apartment now. She had a strong feeling that she might follow him and terrorize her in her own apartment.

She hailed a taxi on the road and quickly got in, panting as she told the driver the address... to Suga's dorm.

Hye-Ri leaned back to the car seat, and closed her eyes. She could feel her hands shaking and the pain from the hot coffee on her skin, but what was painful was her past coming back to her again and open up scars that took all her strength to forget.

She tried to call Suga's number, but her hands were shaking to much. The taxi driver announced that they arrived and she paid her with whatever is left from her wallet and got out of the taxi. The taxi revved away in a hurry, while Hye-Ri found herself hurrying towards the dorm as if she was being chased.

It was only 9 in the morning, and one of the members, Jin, woke up early to cook breakfast. Not long after cooking, he heard a knocking on the door and looked at the clock displayed on the wall.

"Isn't it a little too early for managers to come pick us up?" Jin muttered, scratching his head and proceeded to open the door. He jumped a little to see Hye-Ri's state; her hair a little disheveled, her jacket stained a little with coffee, and her eyes red from crying.

"Hye-Ri ah! Come in what happened to you?" Jin quickly grabbed her and sat her to the sofa. He saw her hand red and a bruise circling on her wrist.

"Do you want some water? Wait I'll wake Yoon-gi up, go to the kitchen and get pur your hand on running water." He stood up and ran towards his room, while Hye-Ri got up to the kitchen sink and put her hand on the running water. She winced on the cold water and let her hand get soaked in it.

Not a second later, Suga came running towards her in the kitchen with his face puffy and hair sticking out. Hye-Ri giggled at the sight of him.

"Hye-Ri." He called in frantic as he got a closer look at her and put his arm to her little face. "What happened? Why do you look like you just got out from a fight?" He turned her head to examine hee whole and then brushed her hair with his hand. He looked next to the sink and saw her bruised wrist and burnt hand.

Suga met Hye-Ri's eye and his gaze went dak in a second, "what happened Hyeri?"

She cleared her throat, "It was my ex. I ran into him this morning on the grocery store near my apartment."

Suga turned off the tap and grabbed some towels on the cupboard and tapped it gently on Hye-Ri's hand. She gasped and winced at first, then turned to Jin.

"Hyung, can you ask Hobi where did he put the burn ointment he used last time then bring it to us?"

"Okay, no problem." Jin was out of sight in a second.

Suga pulled Hye-Ri to a stool nearby and taooed the towel gently to her skin. He was silently doing his job, and not looking at Hye-Ri. She could feel him sigh heavily and his quiet state made her feel as if he could a person once he takes his hand off of her.

She calmed her self first, then lifted her other hand and placed it on Suga's. "Babe." She called in her soft, calm voice.

He didn't answer, but he looked at her. "We ended years ago, and I disappeared out of his life and fled here in the city to start anew. I never thought he would find me. I didn't know he was here-"

"You don't have to explain anything." He cut me off, still looking pissed.

"Pleased don't get angry with me..." Hye-Ri pleaded.

Suga sighed and threw the towel angrily somewhere and put his hands on the sink, his back facing me. He snapped his head from left to right, while his hands gripped on the cemented border of the kitchen sink; his veins looked like they're going to pop out from his skin.

"I'm not angry at you, Hye-Ri. I'm just pissed I couldn't do anything. You fled here because you know I couldn't come to you."

"I came here because wherever you are I know I am safe."

Suga turned around to face Hye-Ri, and she was in the verge of tears again and he shrugged his head. "I'm sorry, don't cry."

"I'm not crying, I just couldn't shake this feeling. I'm still scared and when I saw his face all those unpleasant memories came rushing in like it all happened yesterday. I couldn't stop my hands from shaking, my tears from pouring, and I think I handed all the money I had to the taxi when I got here..." Hye-Ri was all over the place explaining everything that has happened to her and she still couldn't stop shaking. When Jin came in the kitchen, Hye-Ri flinched and broke a mug from the table.

"I'm sorry!" Hye-Ri exclaimed, and began picking up the pieces. Suga stopped her from picking the glass, and ended up cutting his finger.

"Hye-Ri stop!" He yelled, stopping Hye-Ri from moving too much. Jin came and helped them with brushing the broken pieces and Suga putting pressure on his cut. "It's okay. Calm down, baby."

Jin handed the ointment to Suga after he put on a band aid to his finger, then handed a water bottle to Hye-Ri.

"I'm sorry." Hye-Ri apologized again.

"Have you eaten?" Suga asked, opening the bottled water and handing it to Hye-Ri. She only nodded and sipped on the water.

Suga looked at Hye-Ri from head to toe and saw the coffee stain on her jacket and her clothes winkled. "What time is our taping today?" Suga asked Jin.

"At 11."

"Can you ask Se Jin-Nim to pick us up at my apartment? We're sharing the same car right?"

"Yes, don't worry about it." Jin gestured with his hand that everything is fine. "I'll call you then."

Suga nodded and took Hye-Ri's hand, and the keys to the car with the other. "Let's go. We have an hour to prepare and I need to shower."

"Why am I included?" Hye-Ri asked in confusion.

"Because you're coming with me in the tapings. I'm not just gonna let you out my sight like this when you're a wreck. Let's get you showered first." He talked as he rushed her out the dorms and draped a cap to Hye-Ri and his head. Once in the apartment, Suga got on his cabinet and took out some of his clothes and gave it to Hye-Ri.

"I'll wait for you outside. You shower first."

Hye-Ri only nodded and went straight in the shower. Outside, Suga prepared a coffee as he waited. He took out his phone and texted his manager that he will be bringing his girlfriend with him, he was sure that she's not safe even if she stays here in the apartment.

He knew she was suffering post traumatic stress disorder the moment he saw her this morning. Her red puffy eyes and the bruise on her wrist was enough to contact someone to ban her ex and prevent him from coming near her in the future. He wanted to protect her, and he knew that he's not going to let her stay here alone.
