Arthur

Daniels came to know one thing by the end of the first day of their journey, bird brain, no matter how much evolved, can be quite unreliable! Why was that? Him and Fenrir we're currently hiding due to a six metres tall King Kong looking gorilla that was occupying a territory that led directly to the place the humans settled. Why he was hesitant to attack was because this was no normal gorilla! Out of all things he had to run into, he ran into a zombified super Oozaru!

"Maybe we should just go back!" Daniels whispered to Fenrir who whimpered back. They were strong, Daniels could bench press probably a hundred and fifty tonnes, but the gorilla was just too big not to notice it was stronger than them. If he needed further prove, the small mountain of tanks and Humvees at the centre that it made into its throne was prove enough.

"It looks like our adventure might not be so smooth after all, but it is an adventure so nothing out of the ordinary. C'mon, Fenfen, we need to go around or go through and some kill it," Daniels said then led Fenrir away.

If the gorilla did not somehow ingest a Blacklight virus then it is killable and very much ingestible to himself right now. He just needs to know just how strong it was. He needed to know if a zombified evolved animal is stronger than just an evolved animal. Leaving Fenrir in his playground, a city full of zombies for him to eat to his heart's content, he took out his wings and flew to the sky.

The feel of wind rushing against his face made him feel a little bit free but he was not naive enough to think that having wings was him being overpowered but it was a ticket to his overpowered ness. He arrived above the territory of the gorilla and the muscle rain proved to have excellent eyesight for it threw a whole Humvee at him which Daniels cut in half with his right wing before stabalizing himself in the air. The gorilla half roared half grunted at him before going to pick another Humvee.

Daniels did not let him as he took out his sniper rifle and aimed at its left shoulder. When it was about to throw the Humvee, Daniels fired. The bullet shot out like it had been fired by a railgun, the force actually pushing him behind due to low reaction force of the air. It broke the speed barrier and disintegrated the gorilla's left arm, making the Humvee crash down on its head, that only managed to daze it, before it looked back at Daniels and roared.

"That's a lot of anger for a dead guy," Daniels said as he took aim on its head. Just as he was about to fire, he felt something coming towards him behind, making him suddenly fold his left wing and flap his right wing as fast and strong as he could, throwing him to the left and out of the way of the oncoming threat. He felt wind pass his right wing, his attacker brushing on his metal like feathers and he could definitely hear the sound of flesh been torn.A bird like shriek filled the air and as soon as he stabalized himself, he looked at the threat and saw a one meter long swallow turning around in order to attack him again.

Before he could think of what to do, he saw the gorilla throwing another Humvee with it's right hand and even though it did not pack a lot of power, it was still powerful enough to knock him out of the sky. But, he decided to be a Chad and grabbed the Humvee did a spin and threw it back with double the force before evading the sparrow once again. The Humvee hit the gorilla right on its head, crushing it into a meat paste!

The sparrow did not acknowledge its partner been dead as it proved by ignoring the gore and maintaining it's pursuit of him. Daniels too out his trench sword and decided to end it, probably with the high chance of of insta kill. When the sparrow was coming towards him, he flapped his wings once, sending a barrage of knives towards it, making it into a mincemeat but it's inertia still carried it forward so he swung his sword, cutting the sparrow perpendicularly.

Before such biomass could be wasted, tendrils shot out of his body and broke it down into his body, making him slightly stronger. It was like adding a cup full of water into a bathtub, the volume increased but not by much. What increased was his flying speed because it was a fast type of mutated zombie animal. He then flew to the ground where the gorilla with it's crushed head had collapsed and did the same. This time, his strength did increase by a large margin but not enough to let him evolve once again. With his strength, it just shows how strong this zombie was in order not to have its body fully crushed by that Humvee.

"I should call Fenfen and have our adventure resumed. He should have eaten enough Zombie..." Daniels did not finish b fore he ducked, narrowly escaping a stone throwing straight at his head. He turned around to see his attacker but he didn't see anyone. He looked around, trying to sense anyone with his enhanced senses but the whole place was eerily quite. "Should have eaten a python or something for heat vision."

He then heard the sound of something whistling in the air and ducked, a stone hitting the same place he was standing. Whatever that thing was, it was aiming for his leg in order to have him immobile. Having had enough of the tricks, Daniels furled out his wings and did a spin, sending countless feather knives all around him, making the trees upto fix hundred and thirty metres collapse. With those out of the way, he was bound to see whoever was sneaks tracking him. A few seconds later, he saw some movement from the fallen trees, a whole tree was lifted and a human came out, holding it with one arm. His body was riddled with holes that were slowly healing.

"Motherfucker, that hurts," he said, painfully. "You should have gone easy on an old man."

"Who the hell are you?" Daniels asked him. The man had all his wounds healed and he threw the tree away.

"Name's Arthur, just like you, I am an evolved human," Arthur answered as if it was norm.

"Evolved human? What are those?" Daniels asked, hearing this for the first time. He was genuinely surprised because he had only seen normal humans and thought humans would not evolve. If they would, why would evolved humans send normal humans to do dangerous work like collecting food while they can be slaves in their compound and be controlled using the food the evolved collected.

"First time seeing one of us, huh? I am surprised because one need an Evolved human to eat an Evolved Zombie's heart safely," Arthur answered, getting a little suspicious. Daniels was blown away by this need because it seems that humans, like Fenrir or any other animal, needed to eat Zombie Hearts in order to be powerful. That means, the heart of zombies have something in them that make the living covet it and if their body is not strong enough, they turn into zombies! Eighty twenty chance, depends on whether your genes are superior or not! Not very dependable though because settlements might lose talented people due to this but they might also gain powerful members!

"Why are you here?" Daniels asked.

"Some people from my group said they were ambushed by someone during a supply run. They saw they heard the sound of thunder in a clear sky before their buses exploded, killing everyone in them. I heard the sound your gun made and it made me curious," Arthur answered. Daniels smiled wryly when he heard that. Turns out the people he was after had sent someone after him! What a coincidence!!
