** Ashes Journal: Entry1 - Language Learning and the Elements **

«Sixteen days have passed since Gladis and I arrived in the Capital. Although I can speak and understand each other through talk, I can't understand the writing they use in this place. I found out that Master Lectro had a library and that he was willing to lend his books to anyone who wants to learn, so I went and asked him for a few books. Luckily, I found a language one and I am finally beginning to understand. With what I learned, I asked for a few more about the elements and I grabbed one that talked about dragon physiology and anatomy and other things. It's always good to know a bit about everything, right? Well, in the book that talked about the elements, fire and earth are the most destructive elements, ice not as much as the previous two, electric the element that offers more speed, wind the most dangerous if someone were to unlock the full potential and shadow the stealthiest. Also, the book talked about the multiple branches of learning of the elements, for example, the earth element with the control of nature, but that requires perfect control of the elemental energy or it will cause an overflow that will damage the dragon. Another example that I read would be with the ice element and the ice armor, without proper control it will tear the dragon's skin, how scary!».

«Apparently when a dragon born, at least in this world, it is similar to how mammals are born, but I have been wondering why it is not through eggs, have I lived a lie? The scales, from what the book describes, are very difficult to break, but they are not unbreakable; plus they don't have sweat glands, which's good. That would explain why I've been growing up lately. Something that dragons hate is being stepped on, bitten, or pulled by their tails, what does this remind me of? The last thing I read was a chapter called "reproduction form" that I really don't feel ready to read that».

«The outing to the valley with Gladis was a lot of fun. It was an incredible landscape! I have never seen a landscape like that of that place. We started playing as if we were little children, it was a lot of fun. I really feel good being next to her».

«That was ... I have no words to describe what happened this afternoon. I'm writing this while Gladis is resting on my bed and I don't want her to find my journal so I'll be brief. After she asked me to sleep with her and when I connected glances with her, I lost myself in her eyes and I let myself be carried away by the moment. It was my first kiss and it was ... How to describe this being a dragon? Uh ... It doesn't take away from the wonder, I guess. Anyway. I woke up first and watching her sleep was the most BEAUTIFUL thing I have ever seen and ... something weird that I noticed and didn't know was that when two dragons share a romantic moment, so to speak, the tails intertwine. It was something new for me».

«Magnitos has become a good friend in his time at headquarters. I have seen him strive in body and mind to be able to surpass all those who were before him. Sometimes I see him bring food for his brothers and sometimes I offer myself to cook something for them».

«I plan to go exploring to find some precious stone to have a necklace made. Are very expensive in the Capital because of the export and value issue so I will go and find it myself. Gladis told me she likes sapphires so I'll go get one and I plan to gift her a necklace with that sapphire. I hope I don't get lost in a cave».

«I managed to get the sapphire but I was lost for two days. When I was in the cave, the floor broke and I fell very deep. The fall dislocated my wings, although the space was so tight that I couldn't fly. While looking for the exit, I touched what looked like a black stone and felt like a current that paralyzed my body and I was unconscious for maybe a few hours or a whole day. When I woke up my body felt a little strange, as if something had changed but not at the same time. I do not know how to explain it».

«Gladis loved my gift and at the same time scolded me for disappearing for two days without saying anything. I have not felt that sensation again when I touched that black stone, but I thought I saw a black mark on my hand. I guess it was something of my imagination because I have not seen that mark again».

«It was painful. I know we can't go against the rules, but it hurts. We no longer meet as before because Gladis concentrated on training to perfect her skills and not raise suspicions. Magnitos has been encouraging me to try to get through that moment, but I still feel a little down. I read that dragons by nature only have one mate for life and that separation is unlikely. «I already feel better, it is progress. Apparently, the technique I've been creating is starting to work.
