** Two days after the previous chapter **

"NO!"

Ashes woke up gasping. His breathing was very fast, he had just had a very bad nightmare.

"Huh?"

He felt like something was falling down his cheeks. Tears were falling down his grayscale face.

"Again ..." He wiped the tears with his hand.

He took off the covers that covered him and got out of bed. He walked over to the closet and pulled out clothes that he would wear and headed to the bathroom at his home.

Ashes had bought a small apartment on a street near the Masters' headquarters to save himself the time it took to come and go after his night work. This decision was made after learning that he could no longer stay at the headquarters because he was no longer a student of Master Senka, as he had already completed his training.

Ashes sighed when he finished showering. He grabbed a towel to dry the moisture from his body and dressed in the clothes he had taken from his closet. After that, he took out the last of his food for the week and ate it.

Leaving his home, Ashes headed to the outskirts of the Capital, heading up a hill not far away that had the name 'hill of memories'. And when he arrived, he knelt on his two legs in front of a tombstone that had a necklace with a sapphire.

"Gladis ..." Ashes leaned his head against the headstone. A few tears formed in his eyes. "...forgive me. I ... I ..." His gaze suddenly changed from crying and pain to one of complete anger.

A tap on Ashes' shoulder surprised him. It was the hand of Magnitos, who was trying to comfort his friend.

"I assumed you were here, Ashes."

Ashes pushed his shoulder away. "What do you want, Magnitos?"

"I came to see how you are. Ashes, you know you can count on me. But if you keep isolating yourself from the world and following the path of revenge you will only cause yourself more pain."

Ashes got up from the ground. "It is not that easy." He fixed his gaze on the palm of his hand. "Magnitos, would you be able to kill me if I lose the sanity?"

Magnitos was stunned by the question his friend asked. "What's that going Ashes?!"

"Just response."

"... I ... Ashes, you know more than anyone that I wouldn't be able to do it, but I would do my best to get you back the sanity."

"Thank you." Ashes turned and started walking toward the exit.

Magnitos thought he saw a slight smile on Ashes' face, something he hadn't seen in a year and a half, but he wasn't sure. Before Ashes left the hill of memories, Magnitos remembered something he had to ask of him.

"Hey, Ashes." he watched him stop. "One last thing. I promised someone that I would help him in elemental control, but I remembered that I promised my brothers that I would accompany them, and I thought that if you could replace me ..."

"Huh?"

**Time skip**

"I can't believe you convinced me to do this." Ashes told Magnitos while they crossed a corridor near the headquarters training room.

"Come on, Ashes. Take it for a break outside of work."

"Do you call this 'relax'?"

Both dragons entered through the large entrance to the training room, where the figure of an electric element yellow dragon stood. It was the dragoness named Tesla who was standing waiting.

"From the expression on your face, I can see that you know her."

"She was part of a group that went out at night while I was doing my work." Ashes proceeded to walk towards the circular platform that was in the center of the room "Let's get this started at once."

Tesla was surprised to see that Ashes was in front of her instead of Magnitos.

"I thought Magnitos was going to help me."

"He convinced me to replace him because he had another commitment. What exactly do I have to help you with?"

"When I try to do fast movements using my element, I tend to use too much and I end up exhausting myself very quickly. Plus it gets out of control sometimes." Tesla explained to Ashes.

"The elemental overflow is due to lack of proper training." Ashes explained. "This will take longer than I thought. What a bummer." He told himself in his thoughts. "Attack me."

"Uhm. Okay." The electric dragoness said doubtfully.

Tesla concentrated his elemental energy on his feet, which began to give off electrical sparks. She charged an attack on the shadow dragon in front of her, who ended up dodging her in a way too simple. Tesla ended up stumbling and falling to the ground.

"You focus all the energy in your legs that you forget to transport it to the rest of your body. Also, you do not have adequate coordination in your movements. Before attacking, you must anticipate the movements of your enemies."

"So what should I do?" Tesla asked as he got up off the ground and arranged her gray hair.

"For an electric dragon, it is best to spread all the energy throughout the body, so you avoid overloading yourself with energy." Ashes told her after remembering what does the one who held the first place for the title of Electrical Elemental Master was doing when he faced a friendly duel with him.

"I'll try."

** Unknown place - Desert land **

The one who at the time had the title of Elemental Master of the Earth, Gea, was exploring the forbidden lands after passing the security that prevented access. It didn't take long for her to reconnoiter the area almost entirely with one of her element's abilities.

"There are no traces of life around here" she said as took her hand off the ground. "Then why would they want to keep this place in forbidden access? Besides the draticite, there are no other things to keep this place in high security... huh?"

Some kind of sound caught her attention. The earth dragoness felt a sudden change in the air, turned her gaze, and saw something similar to a projectile rushing towards her.

That projectile turned out to be a hooded individual who had fall to attack Gea. The earth dragoness managed to block the attack. The impact of the blow made Gea recoil slightly.

"Who are you and what are you doing here ?!"

"Should be me asking!" Gea, with her great strength, managed to subdue the hooded man and then immobilized all the limbs with chains made of earth. She removed the hood and recognized the race to which the individual belonged. "Now tell me, who are you and what are you doing here?"

"As if I was going to tell you!" yelled the guy and spat in Gea's face.

Gea, keeping calm, created a kind of muzzle made of rocks and put it on to prevent him from speaking. "Let's see if you say the same in the Capital." She grabbed him by her clothes and flew back to deliver the individual who attacked her.
