Third-person p.o.v

Saffron stirred from her sleep.

Rays of sun caressing her face.

A groan left her lip as she turned over to avoid the brightness, only to be met with warmth. Her eyes fluttered at the contact, met with a sleeping Ezra. She gasped.

Suddenly very aware of the closeness. She stiffened when an arm snaked around her, pulling her ever closer. She started to relax as the warm tingles spread through her at his touch. His warm, comforting scent wafting over her senses.

She didn’t quite understand why he made her so calm but she remembered her mother's words. That everything changes when your with your truemate. You feel calmed by their presence, and comforted in their embrace. She let those words swirl in her mind as she gazed at him.

The way the Sunlight dripped down his skin was like fresh honey. The soft rays caressing his full lips. She smiled to herself at the soft pout that laid upon them. His long, dark lashes sprawled out delicately upon his cheeks.

Her eyes wandered up to his brows.

They set perfectly above his eyes, dark and full.

His thick, Raven locks sat not too far from there. She stared, wondering how one gets hair so shiny. Before she can stop herself, her hand had made contact with the soft tresses. confirming her inkling of its unnatural softness. She retracted her hand at the soft groan that left his lips. Heat rose up her neck, pink dusting her cheeks and heat nipping her ears as his eyes peeled open.

His bright emerald eyes that swirled with amusement met her icy blues in fascination.

He propped his head on his palm staring at her, making her avert her head down. Her hair fell, shielding her face from his view, but

A deep chuckle rumbled in his chest as her red-tipped ears peeked through her locks. a sweet boyish grin pulled at his lips as he watched her in amusement. "H-hi." She stuttered out. "Hi." He grinned. As she finally looked back up She offered him a small smile in return, making his grin even wider. She noted the cute dimples that adorned his face And the glimmer of adoration in his Veridian orbs as he watched her.

The way his smile made her chest tight with warmth and butterfly’s swarm in her stomach.

The mattress groaned under his weight as he shifted his body, standing from the bed. Her eyes observing as he disappeared into the bathroom, only to return seconds later with a toothbrush hanging from his mouth. She smiled to herself at the sight.

Her eyes continued to follow him as he stopped in front of the small machine that sat on the table in the corner. He glanced in her direction, his gaze locking with hers, a warm smile grazing his face.

“do you want some?.” he asked, pointing at the machine. She bobbed her head lightly, now sitting on her knees. He chuckled at the childlike curiosity that gleamed in her eyes.

he walked to her, coffee in hand.

His heart fluttered at her cute expression, as she sat patiently on the bed. The strong aroma of the coffee filled her nose, she breathed deeply as He handed her the warm cup carefully making sure she didn't burn herself.

She thanked him and sipped the sweet drink slowly, relishing in the taste.

“I hope it's ok. I didn't know what you liked in it,” he confessed.

She looked at him, eyes full of glee.

“it's perfect,” she reassured.

He gave her a relieved smile, to which she returned softly.

“Well I own a bakery, and we sell coffee so I know a thing or two.” He smiled gently, seemingly lost in thought for a moment.

“But I’m not ugly one to make the coffee, that would be Myles. One of my best friends. You’ll love him he’s a sweet guy.”

Her chest constricted slightly at the statement.

She didn’t know how she felt about meeting new people.

She was scared.. but, it also brought her happiness that Ezra wanted her to meet his friends. It made her nervous but for some reason.. the fact that Ezra trusted him calmed her worries slightly. This whole instinctual trust still baffled her, but it piqued her interest in seeing where it went.

--

She sat in the car waiting for Ezra to check them out. She hummed a random tune as her fingers drummed on the door, eyes gazing at the scenery. A cool gust of wind blew in as he opened the door causing a shiver to roll down her spine as goosebumps littered her skin.

She turned her gaze to him as the engine roared to life.

She laid her head against the seat as the car moved forward.

She stiffened when he gently grabbed her hand, but soon relaxed into the touch. Letting herself just feel the warmth of his hand.

The drive was fairly silent other than the hum of the radio in the background and the sound of the wind blowing past the car as it carried steadily down the highway.

--

after hours of driving, she wasn't quite sure where they were but She raised her head from the window as Ezra turned down a long drive. Her mouth was agape at the sight in front of her. tall trees with beautiful autumn leaves that lined the driveway. As they pulled closer she looked to her right to see a big field, a few horses grazed lazily next to a big old barn. She woundered what they're names were? He smiled at her expression. she looked back forward as he clicked a button that opened a garage door. a pretty wood porch wrapped around the front of the house, flower beds in front of it, and a rocking chair perched towards the back of the porch. as he pulled the car into the garage she looked at the open fields to the lefth Of them. they swayed beautifully in the breeze behind the barbwire fence. Cows here and there grazing in the breeze “your house is beautiful.” she said uttered as she stepped out of the car into the garage that also seemed to double as a workshop. He chuckled. “you mean our house. This is your house too now, sweetheart.” her gaze flicked to him before falling to the ground, 'this is really happening' she uttered more to herself in the shock of it all but he’d picked up on what she said.

He grinned at her. “yes, love. this is your new home. your safe now.” he smiled softly at her, watching the corners of her lips turning up in a small smile. His heart fluttered in his chest. he felt like he needed to pinch himself to make sure this was real. “Come on let's go inside,” he said offering her his hand.

She didn’t know how she felt about this.. her house was small, old, dusty, and always in need of repairs.

But this house was beautiful, she'd only seen the outside but if it was possible to fall in love with a house she was pretty sure it was happening.
