Gisele, Bennett and the Best Friends.

Black Holes: The Blue Stones

Everything had been going great. Well, as great as it could be when your father was being questioned by police and you had no idea if you weren't far behind. But that morning, Bennett had insisted on cooking breakfast for the two and soon enough, thoughts of the police and her dad had left her mind.

Gisele wrapped her arms around Bennett from behind, giving him little kisses on his neck.

"Mhmm, it smells so good...where'd you find the bacon?"

Gisele Hamilton never let much get to her, always opting to keep a cool head instead. But between her father's alleged crimes being the talk of the town, the tension in the house due to this and Leonard's impending suspicion on her constant abrupt cancellations on their 'dates'...Gisele never needed Bennett more.

With him, she didn't have to hide anything. Well, besides how she was doing Leo behind his back. Not that he could oppose without coming out a hypocrite seeing as they were both equally bad as the other.

In more ways than one.

But now, the exact situation that had ripped them apart and consequently sent Gisele into Leonard's arms, had brought them closer than ever. Ironic.

Perhaps she had spoken too soon. Bennett was animatedly explaining the basketball team's win over the weekend when a small dent on the wall opposite her, caught Gisele's eye. And like clockwork, everything from that night replayed in her brain.

"You ruined this! I had it all planned out. And you just had to intervene, try to be the hero...you fucking useless girl."

Gisele's eyes immediately teared up. She had only seen Bennett this angry once.

The day his father was killed by a drunk driver. The day she had run into him in a fit of rage. He was out of control which was understandable. Eyes bloodshot, hair astray, vowing to 'find the motherfucker who did this'.

Their meet cute.

But this time, his anger was directed at her. Never had she ever imagined that she would feel his hatred and his wrath.

She felt small. Weak. Pathetic. The way he spat out the word 'girl', forced her to swallow a sob.

"I was protecting you."

Bennett's expression didn't change. "Protecting me? By telling Carmen that I screwed Rayna? How is that protecting me? That gives me a motive!"

"Bennett, I didn't tell her. I swear I didn-"

"Bullshit! She knew exactly what you meant. I saw that look she gave you. How long do you think it'll take for her to put two and two together?"

Bennett turned back around to her. "You're fucking stupid, you know that? Nosey, useless, irritating cunt."

He didn't need to physically hit her this time to send the message. His words pierced through the shield she hid behind, making deep, long slashes in her heart. Her gut felt twisted. Mangled. She wanted to vomit.

He didn't even look at her as he left, grabbing his backpack and walking swiftly out the door.

Gisele slid down the wall. She had known all along, somewhere deep down, hidden somewhere that this...this...was the dirty truth. Bennett saw an opportunity. He could bag the star athlete career and all it took was to keep banging Harvey Hamilton's daughter.

But all that was overshadowed by her love for him. She loved the way her heart became all jittery when he would trace her jaw with kisses, his spontaneity...his adventurous ambitious nature. She loved it all. She was blinded, ignoring the many red flags.

She knew how Bennett struggled with money. He had siblings he was responsible for. She knew he had it rough. The death of his father shocked him. Broke him, even.

Perhaps it was also that same guilt that stopped her from telling her father what Bennett did. The guilt of her wealth. Her lavish lifestyle compared to his meagre one.

But she was the one who had hugged him, comforted him when he broke down, seen him at his worst and had whispered nothing but reassuring words to him as he fell asleep.

Had he come to her because he knew she would give him the time of day at any hour? Because she was convenient. He knew she loved him. He knew she would forgive him. He knew that even if he killed her in cold blood, she would let it go.

He knew this because although she despised the many things that he had done, Gisele still loved Bennett.

Bennett Badeaux was her weakness.

He was to Gisele what she was to Leo.

"Bennett."

"What?"

"Stop doing that. I really need to get this done before tomorrow or I'll be stuck doing Mr. Morgan's tutorials all week."

When her boyfriend didn't stop kissing her neck, Gisele paused. "Every lunch, every day."

The kissing immediately ceased.

"Well we can't have that can we? Who else can I grab kisses from in the science lab during break?" Bennett grabbed Gisele's face, squishing her cheeks affectionately.

"Uh Logan? You can get more than kisses from him I'm sure."

"You're right. The other day he even let me try-"

"Not happening. I don't enjoy putting things in places other things come out from."

"Imagine it'd be uncomfortable with that stick currently occupying your ass huh."

Gisele playfully slapped Bennett on the arm. "Can you stop distracting me? I have over 600 words left. Go shoot some hoops or something."

He squeezed her thigh before kissing her on the forehead. "Text me when you're done."

He was sweet. Genuinely sweet. There was no way he was playing her that entire time.

But no matter how much this love had blinded her, one question kept plaguing her thoughts.

Why was she in the wrong when he had slept with her best friend? Almost immediately, what was sadness moments ago, soon transpired into anger. After Bennett had left, with her emotions running wild, Gisele couldn't stand to mope in the house any longer.

So she decided to make a trip to a place where she'd definitely be welcome.

"Leo, kiss me."

The moment their lips had met, their bodies intertwined and they had laid together in bed, Gisele was no better than her cheating lying boyfriend. She slept with Leonard knowing that he'd be more than willing. It only made it even better that he was one of Bennett's closest friends.

Tit for tat.

But she had to admit, it felt good. Damn good. Confronting Bennett in person was never a strong suit of hers, but knowing that she had gotten back at him - even if that knowledge would only ever be of the two people currently in Leonard's bed - it was an unfathomable sense of satisfaction.

Or maybe that was due to how amazing he was in said bed.

The longer they had spent 'hanging out', Gisele pondered over why she didn't just dump Bennett and date Leonard. Officially. He listened to her rants, he made her feel special. He made her feel amazing.

But he simply wasn't Bennett Badeaux.]

"-and Logan said he'd do it again. God. It was great."

And just like that, she was taken out of her extensive daydream. Gisele had completely zoned out on Bennett's animated retelling of Logan's brief run in with the police. And he had noticed.

He placed his glass down. "You alright baby? You look out of it."

"Just thinking about how nice this is. Us. This." She gestured a hand to their plates, watching as a smile quickly replaced her boyfriend's frown. He shot her a look she was all too familiar with, one that had always made her feel like the most gorgeous girl in the world.

A look he had probably shot every girl he had slept with, a voice cruelly reminded her.

Bennett walked over to her, lifting up her chin with his finger.

"This has been real nice huh. And you look absolutely stunning Gi."

Maybe this time round, things would work out.
