The Ex

 Kevin drove Laura back home. The ride back home was quiet. Laura was looking out the window. She didn’t want to look at Kevin right now because only being close was intoxicating her. She didn’t want to even imagine what would’ve happened back there if she hadn’t stopped him. 


They arrived the mansion and Laura got out of the car. Kevin also got out of the car to see her off. 


“So, um…” Kevin began but was cut off by Laura. 


“Kevin, please don’t say anything.” she said. He just nodded at her request. 


“I’ll be leaving in a week.” she continued taking Kevin by surprise. 


“Laura, if its is because of what happened earlier. I’m..” 


“Its not that Kevin, I already made that decision. I’m only letting you know so I don’t leave without your knowledge.” 


Laura noticed that Kevin’s eyes were already saddened. She felt deeply hurt. 


“I don’t think we would be seeing after tonight because I’d be really busy tidying up some things at the company.”
