My Strange Saviour

It had already been 30mins since Mandy returned home from work to find the house empty with Irianda no where around. It threw her a little on alarm but then; the island was too small and she might probably be anywhere around– perhaps exploring; her mind told her.

Judging from the pile of documents and research work she brought home which still needed her attention, she literally had no time to prepare anything so she retorted to the only option available. She shuffled over to the kitchen which was just at the opposite side of the living room– heading straight for the refrigerator situated beside the wooden cabinet.

She swiftly pulled the door opened; picking a cup of ramyeon; an instant noodle popular among koreans. She spontaneously dropped it beside the microwave while she waited for the water to heat up. In few seconds, the sound of the microwave clicked; indicating the water was heated up. She deftly brought it out– pouring a suitable amount over the cup of ramyeon.

When it had simmered up, she plugged in her chop sticks – turning on her feet as she headed back to the living room; scooping a fair amount into her mouth.

Just then, the door cracked opened with Irianda sauntering in.

"Anneonghaseyo." Meaning 'Hello' in Korean; a formal basic greeting– Irianda uttered, removing her shoes at the door post while she slipped into a inner footwear.

"Where did you go?" Mandy questioned, taking a quick glance at her while she settled in the sofa– behind her pile documents and laptop; gently putting the ramyeon on the table while she wiped the corners of her mouth with the back of her thump as she clicked the keyboard, her gaze fixed on the screen.

"I kind of felt a bit suffocated staying here so went out for a walk." She replied over her shoulders –heading towards the corner to her room. "Had it been long since you returned?" She added.

"Ugh" Mandy muttered as if on a sudden impulsive; making Irianda turned deftly on her feet– allowing her gaze to travel back to her mother who jerked a brown envelop her direction.

With a sceptical gaze, Irianda reached for the envelope –not quite getting what it was for. "Your application form. I got you a place in SAMBEAK HIGH SCHOOL." Mandy said, clearing up Irianda's confusion.

"Really?" The latter exuded, rushing over to her mother whom she took off guard as she wrapped her arms around her shoulders in a hug. "Thank you mum.." She added with her face lit up in smiles.

Mandy's lips instinctively curved into a smile– curbing Irianda 's face in the process. "You're welcome dear." She affirmed.

Back in the woods; Park Ki–Young, Shin–Woo and Dae –Hyung spontaneously rushed over to Neo's side on seeing him laying against the bower in quite a daze.

"Hey, are you okay?" Kim Shin–Woo muttered, panting heavily as their eyes scanned over their friend for any cut or bruise.

"Well, yeah." Neo answered with a sceptical gaze; not sure of what had just happened nor who the girl was. Everything was literally not making sense.

The sun had already started on his gracious journey to the West, making room for the night clouds to start forming in the sky and the woods were beginning to get cold and creepy.

"I think we should get going." Dae –Hyung hinted, taking notice of the time. "Can you walk?" He queried and Neo bobbed his head. With a little help– He pushed himself up to his full length. He was about 6.1ft tall; his black hair sticking to his forehead due to the profound sweat from the impact of running.

He tried to walk but then it seemed like he had twisted his ankle a little; making it quite difficult to walk on his own.

Ki–Young instinctively clicked his tongue on an impulse, "This is not going to work." He commented– jerking Neo's hand over his shoulders as he gesticulated Dae–Hyung to do same.

The evening sunset was graciously beautiful but Neo and his friends could neither take acknowledge of it due to how thick the woods were– besides that, their only concentration was on how to make it out of the forest.

One way or the other, they managed to get out of the forest. Fortunate enough, they came with Dae– Hyung's family van so getting transport back home wasn't a problem. Few seconds after settling in, Mr Lee drove off.

Shi– Woo glanced at Neo's bruised ankle and a sigh escaped his lips while he ruffled his hair in the process.

"Your mother is surely not going to let us off that easily." He lamented– a scoff escaping Neo's lips as he glanced at their frustrated faces.

"Come on guys, it's not that bad. Moreover it's my fault." He commented, reaching out for an ointment to curtail the pain. When he had bought it out, Park Ki–Young offered to help which had Neo passing the ointment over to him.

The rest of the journey found them chatting whiles they drove from the main street into the alley leading to Neo's house.

Within the next 5mins, the van pulled up in front of their destination. By now, the pain had subsided –making it possible for him to walk on his own.

"See you guys tomorrow. " He said, snatching his bag as he glided out of the car. The rest waved at him as he made his way to the corridor and the car sped off.

The day had already been hectic for him so sauntering into the house, he headed straight to his room to freshen up– sharing few pleasantries before taking the stairway to his room.

Pushing the door opened, he threw his backpack on the bed and darted off to the washroom. Within the next few minutes, the droplets of the shower hitting the tiles invaded the silence of the room. Neo was enjoying his warm shower when the earlier incident flushed through his mind– gearing his subconscious mind.

"Who is she?" He grumbled mentally to himself; not sure of the true nature of his saviour– and this nagging feeling refused to let his mind rest.
