The Threat

Chanyeol didn't realize how long they had been outside until a snore from Irianda attacked his ear. Intuitively, his gaze traveled to his shoulder where Irianda had put her head– to meet his sister sleeping like a baby. His lips instantly curved into a smile while he gently turned over– carefully scoping the latter into his arms.

As effortlessly as it could be, Chanyeol carried Irianda as he sauntered his way to her room.

Finally getting to his destination, he gently laid her on the bed~ making the latter curl up; feeling comfy which was usually her habit. Chanyeol tittered, covering Irianda up with her blanket to keep her warm. With a last glance at her, he scampered out– slowly closing the door behind him.

It was already past 6 am but Irianda remained fast asleep. She had not for once slept past 5 am– from childhood, she had always been on edge for the unknown, and seeing how peaceful she was now~ one could tell she was somehow relieved from whatever used to keep her up.

But then, a loud bang jittered her from sleep– putting her on alarm as she sat up in a position ready to attack. Becoming conscious of her environment, she relaxed as a sigh escaped her lips– raking her hand into her messy hair in the process. It was then that flashes of the evening crept into her memory.

"Oh," she muttered with a raised eyebrow, "how did I get here? Did he..." She grumbled but paused midway as her eyes fell on the mini clock seated in the bedside drawer. "aish~" she grumbled– flinging her legs off the bed as she pushed the blankets aside.

As fast as possible, she rushed into the washroom and within a twinkle of an eye– glided out. Though she was in quiet a haste, she could hear some movements downstairs. Having no time to spare, Irianda got into her uniform and slipped her legs into her shoes while she pulled her hair into an all-back ponytail.

Reaching for her bag, she scampered out of the room. Irianda hurried through the corridors, down to the stairs as she made her way out to the hall. Instinctively hit with the mouth-watering fragrance from the kitchen, she smiled– aware of what was on for breakfast; kimchi toast, her favorite.

" Hey~ over here, you're just right on time... join me for breakfast," Chanyeol called on noticing her. This made her pause for a moment before gliding further.

" Eomma, why didn't you wake me up?" Irianda said as she cast a gaze at the entrance of the kitchen– pulling a chair back in the process and settling in. Just when Mandy brought their meal, she jerked up to her full length. " Sorry, Chanyoel ssi– got to go now. I'll join you some other time." She explained as she packed hers into her bag pack.

"You should have woke me up when you noticed the time. I'm late because of you, eomma." She added, making her way to the door.

"Oh?– what did I do?" Mandy howled in surprise and Chanyeol chuckled at her words. Irianda who was by now at the door had no time for her mother's aigoos.

" Jalgayo [goodbye]" She hastily muttered as she pulled it open– rushing out in the process without waiting for a reply. Mandy's lips instinctively curved into a smile while she took a seat behind the table.

Leticia on the other had already left for work since she had an early morning shift. "So what are your plans now?" Mandy inquired while she bit into her toast. "I know your sister is your responsibility now and you want to keep a close watch on her but please do not make it awkward. She feels uncomfortable with it." Mandy added as she squarely laid out her concerns– partly aware of Chanyeol's plans of enrolling in Irianda's school but not sure what other cards he had in his hands.

The latter only listened with rapt attention as Mandy laid out the burdens on her heart– with him alone having a fair idea of Irianda's developmental changes. She was a rare breed and so was her development.

Day in and day out, her potential powers were growing at a rapid pace which was likely to expose her at any time and this was the more reason their father sent him over and the reason behind the bracelet he brought. He was going to go to every length for his sister– even if it was the last thing he does.

Perfectly getting Mandy's weary, Chanyeol shrugged to his full length– picking up his bag which he did a great job hiding from Irianda.

"You should not worry about anything," he said, not giving out a hint of what he had in mind. "I'll get going then," Chanyeol added– staggering off. The former stared at his back while it disappeared through the door with him slowly closing it from behind. Instinctively, a sigh escaped her lips as she allowed her gaze to travel back to her meal.

Almost all the students were in their various classes when Irianda scampered into the school's premises. With hurried steps, she raced through the half-empty hallways to her class– nearly panting out of breath.

Fortunately enough, the teacher was not in when she came to a halt at the entrance.

Literally, everybody was busy in their own way– leaving the class in such a rumpus. Irianda intuitively took advantage of the situation~ quickly sneaking in to avoid being in the spotlight but then, Neo had already spotted her.

Elsa noticed this and couldn't help staring at Irianda in disgust as she watched her take her seat. At that moment, Mr. Hosoek, their homeroom, and Maths teacher walked in– taking his stand in front of the class.

A sigh of relief instinctively escaped Irianda's lips– making Ji- Soo cast her a glance.

"Are you okay?" she asked and the former nodded~ unpacking what she will need for the class. Just on placing the book on the desk, Mr. Hosoek's voice rapted their ears.

"So before we start the lesson–let me do this first," he said, casting a glance at the entrance. Intuitively, all the students followed his gaze with a puzzled expressions written all over their faces as he beckoned someone in– Irianda was no different either.

"Who takes transfer in the middle of the term?" The class instantly broke into rumpus with everyone curious about who it could be. Within the next minute, he strolled in. Irianda's gaze heightened on catching a glance of who it was.
