▫ Their feelings ▫

Rue did not catch up with Tre as she continued to sniff the air. It causes her to get a dry throat. She slammed herself into a solid rock wall from the right side, making her snap some bones inside the borrowed body she used. Her stomach grumbled as she reached her hand out to the ground, planning to lay down again after a few runs in the area where they were hiding. She did not enjoy it one bit, it was warm inside the shit-like holes.

But before her fingers could touch the ground, a blast from the distance made Rue walk backward.

"Tre! Can you hear me?"

"Do not come here, Rue!"

"You are not going to be the most selfish object that I have ever met," Rue suspected. "And considering we are still talking—that is truly more than something, Tre."

"What did you just say? I can barely hear you."

"Never mind. What was that blast?"

"It is –I do not know yet. Let me go further away from here."
