Senseless Nightmares

Aisling's anger was overwhelming in the first few weeks. Or perhaps, it was days. She could not tell after being in the white room for a while. The bright lights were never turned off, and the deliveries made by the robot were not consistent.

It was like the delivery patterns for the food, fresh beddings and clean clothes were designed to prevent her from establishing a consistent schedule.

Sometimes, she would sleep for what felt like a full day before the robot brought food. Other times, it felt like she only closed her eyes before she was woken up.

At first, she would scream and curse at that Bekezela Sikobi. She threatened him with torture and murder if he did not let her go. She became more and more inventive with her profanities, hoping that someone would hear.

But no one answered.

Nothing changed.

She was all alone.
