Aisling was exhausted after using too much power. She could hardly keep her eyes open as she took a bath and laid on the bed in her room. She thought Abaddon would stay with her, but he did not. She had a feeling that he was going to hunt.
She could see a predatory light in his lava eyes as he kissed her on the forehead when her own eyes closed.
Aisling thought she would sleep through the night and awaken late in the morning. But she did not expect the darkness and the visions that lingered in the back of her mind to find her when she was feeling vulnerable and weak.
She was again thrust into the fractured timelines of the world and immersed into realities she did not know. She felt like if she looked at the realities before her, she would be able to understand the essence of the world, from its conception to the distant end. But she was not strong enough.
She could only be forced to look at snippets of the past, the future and the present.
