The Mystery Solved

Ariel laughed in self-deprecation and looked at Govad with a sigh. 

"I thought it was a small price to pay for Zakum's freedom. And when he woke up, I told him the witches cursed him with a poisonous sexual appetite which would only end when he finds true love. I thought he would be curious or even introspective about the situation." Her face turned ugly. 

"You thought he would intuitively know about the sacrifice made for him. You believed the curse could end before it began." Govad filled in the blank. 

"I know it was stupid to sit beside him, looking at him with hope. But the reality was cruel. Do you know what he did?" Ariel clenched her hands into fists. "He laughed off the curse and spent the evening with two women from the were-tribe before we left. That witch looked at me with ridicule even as I ascended to the sky once again." Ariel said.
