Chapter 51

Later that week, Kim Jong-Seo received an unofficial visit from his friend and ally, Chief State Councilor Hwangbo In. The two men sat on the open terrace, a cup of tea in front of each one of them.

"Have you decided what you will do about Minister Min's son?" Hwangbo In asked after a few moments of silence.

"Not yet." Kim Jong-Seo replied, taking a slow sip of tea.

"You might want to consider it, Jong-Seo. The boy is of proper age and of good family. Besides that, we will need every help we can get in the near future."

"The truth is, I do not trust Minister Min at the moment, and I will trust him even less as my family. Min Byun-Ho is an arrogant and cruel young man, with nothing else to recommend him except for his position as a Minister's legitimate son. I would feel terrible knowing I have to leave my niece in his hands."
