Chapter 30

That day the Kisaeng house was surprisingly full of people. Even on normal days it wasn't bustling like this. Every room was full of men and women, all laughing and chatting merrily. From time to time, a booming laughter would explode from one room or another, followed by a bout of sweet giggling. The crystalline sound was like the ringing of wind chimes in the summer.

The atmosphere was jubilant and intoxicating. Even Jung-Hee, who usually didn't appreciate this kind of frivolous entertainment, couldn't help but admit that other people's happiness could be quite contagious at times.

With a bright smile on her face and a slight bounce in her step, Jung-Hee followed Hana and Hyeon inside the main house in order to greet Madam Chae-Won before heading for the hideout located in the back garden.
