Otherworldly Necklace

Lu Ciel, Bogart and Mi Zelle went to lady Anne's restaurant.

As the three entered the restaurant, waitress Anna welcome the three.

"Hi, Anna!" Lu Ciel greeted the waitress back. "Is Lady Anne here?"

"I'm sorry, young sir." Waitress Anna slightly bowed in apology. "Lady Anna would only stay for a week in her restaurant and would travel to city to city right after to check the other branches of her restaurants. That's how her life became after Master Zach passed away."

"Oh, I see.." Lu Ciel nodded in understanding. "Can the three of us eat at the rooftop?"

"We'll make an exception for you, young sir." Waitress Anna smiled as she bowed her head in compliance and gestured towards the stairs right after. "Right this way."

The three arrived at the roof top where the beautiful overlooking scenery of the city can be viewed majestically. As this is Bogart's first time seeing such a view, he can't help but gasped in amazement.

"Beautiful, right?" Lu Ciel can't help but chuckle at Bogart's expression.

"What a romantic view, darling!" Mi Zelle hook her arm to Lu Ciel's and cuddle it as she expressed her flirtatious comment.

Lu Ciel only chuckle at Mi Zelle's playfulness as he nodded in agreement.

After a moment, reveling the view in the rooftop, the group settled down and take their orders.

After the three gave their orders, they talked about anything. Mi Zelle opened up their Dungeoneering as she provided them some advice.

Lu Ciel learned about Dungeoneering from Mi Zelle. One thing he learned that made a mark in his mind was that, "Survival 101: Trust in yourself only when inside the dungeons."

When Mi Zelle provided an insight about this phrase, Lu Ciel was reminded that he is a foreigner of this world. He is alone here. This made his carefree mind to be more vigilant.

After eating, the three rest for a moment and eventually made their way back to the Hunter Guild. Along the way, Lu Ciel passed by a Jewelry Shop.

"Bogart." Lu Ciel got curious as jewelries were being displayed behind the glass wall of the shop. "Do you think giving Mi Chell a jewelry would be too extravagant?"

"Eh?" Bogart got surprised with his young master's inquiry. "Young master, do you want to pursue her?"

"What do you mean?" Lu Ciel slightly frowned in confusion. "It's just that she's mad to me for no reason and we promised to bring her some souvenir. Do you think a pair of cute earrings can appease her?"

"Oh, of course, young master!" Bogart strongly nodded as he puffed his chest in confidence. "No woman can resist to cute and adorable things."

Lu Ciel only chuckled at how Bogart was being a showoff with his cuteness as he looked at Mi Zelle. "What do you think?"

"Me?" Mi Zelle only raised her eyebrows as she looked the jewelries and replied. "Artifacts are too sissies for me, I don't like it."

"Ahh..haha." Hearing Mi Zelle's aggresiveness, he can't help but only laugh in an awkward manner.

Nonetheless, Lu Ciel still went inside the shop. As the bell on the door rang upon entering, an adorable young girl greeted him in a modest manner, "Welcome, young sir."

Seeing the young girl, Lu Ciel was able to tell that she was a half-human half-dwarf like Bogart. Speaking of Bogart, as he entered the shop and saw the young girl, he can't help but stop on his tracks which made Mi Zelle bumped into him unintentionally, causing to be pushed near to the counter where the young girl was.

The young girl can't help but be surprised when Bogart appeared in front of her in an instant. However, after seeing his face, that thick mustache and his baby face made her eyes sparkle in curiousity as she felt her chest unusually fluttering.

"H-hello!" Bogart stood straight up as he was feeling weak in his knees upon seeing those big starry eyes of the young girl.

"Hello.." The young girl bowed coyly as she modestly replied.

"Oh?" Seeing this, Lu Ciel can't help but find the two amusing.

"W-what can I get you?" The young girl composed herself.

Seeing that Bogart was like a petrified stone, staring at the young girl only, Lu Ciel can't help but to step in, answering the young girl. "Can you recommend me an elegant earring that can be a present for an attractive woman? The more expensive, the better."

"Oh, of course." The young girl nodded in compliance. "Please give me a moment."

The young girl faced towards the wall of the counter which was full of small drawers. After thinking for a second as the young girl looked at the drawers, she opened the very middle drawer out of all the hundred drawers.

From the drawer, the young girl took out a simple small white box with intricate golden stars and leaves design. She placed it on the counter and opened it for Lu Ciel to see. In the box, there, you can see two small stars. Each sides of the stars were made of leaf-design with glittering crystals, and in the middle, a gorgeous rose gold colored pearl.

"What a beauty!" Lu Ciel praised which only garnered a dissatisfaction from Mi Zelle. "How much is it?"

"This is called Starplum earrings.. The young girl started introducing the earrings as she picked one of the earrings and gently handed it to Lu Ciel. "..it is for six spirit crystal.

"Thank you." Lu Ciel simply smiled back. He looked at how nice the shop was, and as he faced towards the jewelries that were displayed at the distance, there he saw a thick black necklace with a smooth milky golden stone.

"Oooh!" Lu Ciel went near to the display as he was dazzled with its beauty. "That looks nice."

As Lu Ciel arrived at where the necklace was displayed, there he learned the name of the item.

"Magic Gold Necklace." Lu Ciel uttered as he looked at Mi Zelle right away, remembering about what she said before, and look at the necklace once more.

'Could it be that this item has something to do with the demons?' Lu Ciel can't help but think in this way as the hidden information that he learned about his master resurfaced in his mind.

'There must be quite a deep world-shaking mystery behind this necklace.' Lu Ciel can't help but be thrilled when thinking about it this way as he looked at the price which was nine spirit crystals. 'I'll try to buy this for a low price.'

"Excuse me." Lu Ciel looked at the young girl to come over as he hold his chin looking confused. "I can't help but question why this necklace is very expensive as it is only a common rank item which has a very high requirements in order to be used yet only provides additional ten points to all stats. Isn't this artifact a bit unfair? It's like this item doesn't want to be worn at all."

After hearing the young man's criticism about the necklace, the young girl was taken aback at first however as she thought about what he said, she can't help but realize and admit that he has a point. "Yes..you're right."

"I'm sorry about this, young sir, but it's my grandfather who placed this price." The young girl can only bow in apology as she has no control over the prices of the artifact in this shop. "My grandfather though believed that there's a hidden feature in this necklace that's why he put a high price for it."

"Is that so?!" Lu Ciel was shocked. In the back of his mind, he can't help but suspect the grandfather of this young girl really knows that there's a hidden feature. "..how peculiar."

"But even so.." Lu Ciel was ruminating as he deeply looked at the young girl. "..isn't nine spirit crystals too expensive? Unless he is sure that there is indeed a hidden feature within it."

Seeing how the young man was looking at her, the young girl can't help but feel uncomfortable.

"Tell you what.." Lu Ciel spoke once more. "I'll buy this for three spirit crystals if your grandfather is not sure with the hidden feature. If he is sure, I'll buy it for twelve spirit crystals however, he has to tell me how to unlock the hidden information. Let me know your thoughts."

Hearing what the young man offered, the young girl was tempted to give in. If only she knew the secrets about this necklace. "I have to let my grandpa know about this first. Would that be okay?"

"Of course." Lu Ciel simply smiled as he nodded in agreement. The young girl has no authority to accept his deal after all.

With that, the young girl pressed the gem embedded on the ring that was worn on her thumb. Seeing this, Lu Ciel can't help but wonder what the young girl did with the ring.

Seconds passed by which turned into minutes of silence, Mi Zelle's patience have finally ran out. "Is your grandpa going to respond, kid?"

Seeing how aggravated the woman that's with the young man, the young girl can't help but be scared as she deeply bowed to Lu Ciel in apology. "Please bear with me, young sir. My grandpa is already very old."

"You don't have to accompany us anymore, you know?" The young girl's eyes were already teary. Seeing this, Bogart can't help but feel heart ache, making him instinctively lash out at Mi Zelle. "Your job is done here. Shoo! Shoo!"

Hearing this, Mi Zelle got angrier with how rude Bogart was. He looked at Lu Ciel to see if he will tolerate his butler and as they locked eyes, Lu Ciel responded. "I do apologize for the attitude that my butler shown to you, Mi Zelle. However, you really don't have to accompany us anymore if you don't want to."

"Thank you for helping us." LuCiel humbly bowed in gratitude.

With that, Mi Zelle only snorted in response as she stormed out, slamming the door.

Lu Ciel can only sigh as he shook his head about this. He looked at Bogart and then to the young girl. He can't help but laugh helplessly. "Is your grandpa~"

When Lu Ciel was about to ask about the young girl's grandpa, the gem on the ring on her thumb lit up. This made the young girl's eyes lit up. "My grandpa finally responded!"

Learning about her grandpa's response, the young girl can't help but shook her head as she relayed her grandpa's message to Lu Ciel. "My grandpa does not the secrets about the hidden feature and he can't sell it for three spirit stones as well because we bought it in an auction for five spirit crystals. With that, he can't help but just sell it for five spirit crystals as well since it would be hard to find another customer that would be interested to this artifact just like you."

"I see.." Lu Ciel acted a bit disappointed as well. Looking like he was pondering for a moment, he finally responded in acceptance towards the offer as he reluctantly took out five spirit crystals. "Fine. We have a deal."

"Thank you for understanding, young sir." The young girl bowed and took the necklace out of the display right after. "Would you like me to wrap it up for you?"

"Yes, please." Lu Ciel nodded.

After the young girl wrapped the necklace in a thin box and handing it over to Lu Ciel, the two bid farewell and went back to the Hunter Guild.

"Grandpa." Back in the artifact shop though, the young girl noticed a very old man mysteriously appeared in the shadow right after Lu Ciel and Bogart left.

"Hmm." The very old man with his cane nodded towards the young girl. "That young man was shrewd."

"Do you think he's an otherworldly?" The young girl let out her worry and curiosity.

"There's a tiny possibility." The very old man looked over the glass. "If his reactions that he so far shown were genuine. If not, then, he really is an otherworldly."

"I'll monitor him from time to time." The very old man stated as he mysteriously vanished in the shadow.
