Chapter 3

Baby Alex has been growing well over the years, she has grown very fond of James and they often play dollies and sometimes they play cooking or make-up.

"Daddy!" Alex yelled running to her father with her arms open wide for a hug. And her father, like a man who loves her daughter dearly hugged back with so much love it would leave you shocked.

"Hey honey," he greeted back with the same happy tone he use everyday. He kissed her forehead and she helped him carry the bucket of fishes, she was holding the bucket but she was not carrying anything.

"Mommy mommy! Lookie what daddy got us. Million heavy fishes!" She yelled leaving the bucket and running to her mother.

"Of course. Maybe you should go with him one day and catch billions of fishes for me?" Marian asked looking at her daughter with a small smile.

"Yaay!" She yelled in reply and turned to her father. Her right hand on her waist and the other one on her lips in shock.

"I am going fishing soon!" She yelled and hugged her father's feet, who chuckled and picked Amalia up after placing the fish bucket on the floor.

"Yes baby. We will go fishing next week, just me and you."

"Momma did you hear! Did you hear?"

"Yes baby. I heard," Marian replied walking towards James before pecking his lips.

Amalia hid her face on her father's neck and whispered, "Ewww," causing her parents to laugh at her cuteness.

Back in the Kerma Chiefdom, things were as perfect as they could ever be for the past five years.

Amina have been so depressed for the first two but had a feeling that her baby was fine wherever she was. 'Queen Lilithu' conceived two boys and three girls between the years before she requested Amina to go back home, Amina thought that she called her 'home' only so she could babysit for her but she did not complain.

She worked with the other wives and took care of all of the children inside the hut. She would bathe them, cook for them, feed them, wash their clothes and do everything a parent is supposed to do. She never even once complained.

One day as she was sitting under the shade of a tree, Queen Lilithu called her to the hut. She stood up and ran to the hut as she sounded like she was in some kind of danger.

"Yes, my Queen?" She bow her head as a sign of respect.

"My kids haven't eaten," she was told and she raised her head in shock as she had fed them not less than an hour ago.

"I myself had fed them Lili..."

"Are you calling my kids liars!?" This caused Amina's eyes to go wide with shock while shaking her head.

"No I..."

"Nkosi yam!" Lilithu yelled in shock. At this point, people who were close by had come to watch what the problem was in the royal hut. "My god!"

"I will prepare another meal for the..." poor Amina was cut off by a slap from Lilithu as her head craned to the side painfully.

"I want you out of this hut! I want you out of this chiefdom!" Lilithu yelled and walked away from Amina. She stood there with a red cheek and tear-filled eyes.

"Get her out!" Lilithu yelled so the guards that were near by pulled Amina out of the hut and to the other side of the chiefdom.

Once she was shown to her new hut, her only hope was that people here would treat her better than where she came from while her dream was that her baby was safe.

Two days passed with people coming to welcome Amina to that side of the chiefdom. She was greatful that they were nothing like Lilithu and her people.

She had helped some women with cooking meals for everyone and went with them to the river to draw water. Some times she would play with the other kids such that she wasn't feeling lonely.

All the men were told to play very far from her by the chief in the flesh. Even some who were interested in her had to play blind eye when looking at her or they would be blind for real.

Days and weeks passed with Amina living happily with the people around her. She was way attached to them that if they were to be separated, she would be shattered. They called her Queen Amina cause she treated them the way a queen would treat her people while the kids called her aunt Amina cause apparently she treated them in a way no one has ever treated them.

This made her happy because for once in her life after a long time she felt wanted. Even the glow she had seven years ago when the king had asked for her hand in marriage was back. But this time, it was because of the people who she had once helped destroy their homes in order to win their land.

They had forgiven her instead of mistreating her unlike people she know. She had forgotten about all the worries she once had in her life ever since she lived with them.
