Battle Training

"NO FUCKING WAY! YOU CHEATED!" Bakugou yelled.

I snorted and returned to Midoriya's side. He nudged me and I leaned on his shoulder.

"Tired." I muttered.

"No sleep? That's gonna be a problem you know that. I thought that stopped when you were little." He said.

"Nah, guess I was too hyped for today I guess." I answered.

"Uh, hey. Tatakai right?" I turned to see a boy with red spiky hair waving slightly.

"Kirishima! Hey!" I said, recognizing him from the exam. He grinned.

"You do remember me! That throw was amazing!" He said.

"Thank you. Pocky?" I asked, holding out the box I had smuggled onto the training field. He grabbed one and bit the tip.

"Thanks!" He said smiling.

I held one out to Midoriya and bit it out of my hand and munched on it happily. I stuck my own in my mouth, holding it and letting the chocolate melt on my tongue.

"Um, are you two-?" Kirishima asked.

"Dating? No. He, Bakugou and I grew up together. Friends since childhood." I said.

Kirishima nodded and I grinned teasingly.

"Not that I'd mind, afterall, my green haired friend is adorable." I looked at Midoriya for his reaction.

He burst into a storm of mutters and flustery as he tried to come up with a response.

Kirishima and I laughed as we watched him come up with a hesitant "thank you".

~Time Skip~

After school, I had headed back home to see Tochi sitting at the table, head in hands with a bunch of papers scattered across the table.

"Tochi?" I asked gently, setting a hand on his shoulder.

He sighed and placed his hand on top of mine.

"Mom and Dad . . . . . stopped paying our rent. They said either move to the states with them, or be homeless in Japan." He looked up at me with anger in his eyes.

"They reacted like this after I told them you got into UA. Mom said since you can be a hero all on your own, you can live all on your own."

I bit my lip and looked away.

"What did I say. Telling your mother was always a bad idea. I mean, my uncle was one thing, but my life?" I removed my hand and stomped to the door. "I'll figure something out. How long do we have?"

"Six weeks." He said. "The landlord tried to stretch it, but mother thought ahead. She had told some people in the states about a place that was cheap and they contacted her. They want the place and she has no choice but to register them. She really wanted to help us, but she was in a tight spot. Six weeks was the most she could get."

Tochi looked sourly at the table.

"I should've listened to you."

I hesitated at the door before opening it.

"We make mistakes." I said before shutting int behind me.

I sprinted down the street to Midoriya's apartment complex. I ran up the stairs and skidded to a stop in front of his door. I don't know how, but he knew I was there because he opened the door with an expectant face.

"Takai? What are you doing here?" He asked.

I bit my lip and looked at the ground. My hands were folded politely and my feet were together.

Only Midoriya. Only Midoriya would've recognized the stance I made when I tried not to cry.

"Takai." He pulled me in his home and to his living room. "What happened?"

I sat down and buried my face in his shoulder.

"Damn Tochi's mom. She managed to fuck us over big time. Got us evicted because I got into UA apparently without her PERMISSION." I said.

He rubbed my back and pulled me close.

"What the hell is her problem?" He asked.

"Just a snake being a snake. Dad probably doesn't even know about it yet." I said, kicking off my shoes and curling up on the couch next to him.

Midoriya wrapped both arms around me.

"What are you gonna do?" He asked.

I sighed.

"We have six weeks. The bitch planned ahead and had someone at the ready to buy the place. That's enough time for us to find a place I think. But I need to figure out how much this is gonna take. And school!" I exclaimed. "Tochi can't do this all by himself!"

Midoriya nodded and thought hard before sparking up with an idea.

"Hey! You're close with Kacchan's mom right? Can't you ask her for work?" He asked.

My frown disappeared and I nodded.

"That could work. I can ask her. But I need to go now." I said.

He nodded and gave me a big hug.

"I'm so sorry Takai." He whispered in my ear.

"We've been friends for years Mido. Call me Hikari and I'll call you Izuku." I said.

I felt his grin against my cheek and he nodded.

Inko walked in and gasped.

"Hikari! It's been a little while! Do you want to stay for dinner?" She asked when Izuku and I broke apart.

"I'm sorry, but I've run into a situation and I need to go take care of it. I just need to advice for Izuku. But Maybe tomorrow?" I suggested.

"Anytime." She grinned.

She was so much shorter compared to when I was little. It was adorable and it kind reminded of someone . . . .

I smiled and bowed.

"Sorry for the sudden intrusion. I'll see you soon!" I waved as I left the comfort of their home.

I wasted no time and ran from Izuku's apartments and into the neighborhood that I knew Bakugou lived in. I REALLY didn't want to see the angry boy but I didn't have much of a choice.

I walked up to his house and flinched as a hurtful memory came to mind. My hand unconsciously went to my right shoulder blade and sighed.

'Please Katsuki . . . .' My own voice came to mind from the incident that happened years ago.

I shook my head and headed up the steps for someone to kick the door open.

"Yeah yeah! I'm grabbing it-!"

Bakugou stepped out of his home and stopped short when he saw me.

"Wait Bakugou." I warned before he started shouted.

"THE HELL?! ARE YOU THAT INFATUATED WITH ME THAT YOU CAME TO MY HOUSE?!" He glared at me. "Get lost! The hell are you here for anyway!? Go die!"

I frowned, standing there until Mitsuki came into view.

"Who are you yelling at?" She smacked her son and looked at me.

A huge grin burst across her face as Masaru joined her at the door.

"Hikari! It's been ages! Come in!" Masaru said as Mitsuki squealed.

"KARI!" She came over and hugged me tightly.

"Hi Mitsuki." I said hugging her back. "I need to talk to you about something important." I said.

"Over dinner." She said.

"But-"

"There's no way in hell that she's staying her for dinner!" Bakugou shouted.

"Katsuki, shut the hell up! Why are you so rude to sweet Hikari anyway? She was your best friend! Second to Midoriya!" She said.

Bakugou scoffed and settled his eyes on me.

"Yeah, years ago . . . ." He trailed off as I realized he was having the same flashback from years ago. My hand went to my shoulder blade again and he saw.

He pursed his lips and walked inside without another word, ignoring me.

I walked up the steps with Mitsuki, knowing this was gonna be a tiring night.

We were sitting at dinner when she popped the question.

"So Kari, what did you want to talk about?" She asked.

I hesitated before looking at her and Masaru.

"As you know, my father is in the states." She nodded, edging me to continue.

"And I live with my brother. I told him not to, but he told his mother about my acceptance into UA."

Bakugou turned his head at me when I emphasized 'his mother'.

"She decided she didn't like that. She somehow got into my father's bank account and cancelled the funds for our place. We're getting evicted. We have six weeks."

Mitsuki gasped while Masaru sighed.

"Why would she do that?" She asked.

"Simple. She hates how my father remarried after their divorce and had me. She already got my uncle arrested because he tried to take custody of me after my mother died, but . . ."

I shook my head.

"She's just a really sour person. I'm not asking for a place to stay, I'm asking for work. Do you have ANY possible spots for work available?" I asked, shyly.

Mitsuku lit up and nodded.

"My assistant just quit! Something wrong with my attitude or something." She said.

I choked on my tea and covered my smiled as I turned away and tried to silence my laughter.

My shaking shoulders gave it away because she whined in protest.

"Hey! What's wrong with my attitude?" Masaru chuckled and Bakugou snorted.

"You're staying the night." Mitsuki said.

My eyes widened and I shook my head.

"Oh no, I couldn't! Besides, I don't think Bakugou wants me here." I said looking at the angry blonde.

He rolled his eyes and stood up, taking his bowl into the kitchen.

I smiled at Mitsuki and Masaru.

"I appreciate it though. Besides, I think Tochi needs me." Mitsuki looked at Masaru who looked like he wanted to say something but kept his opinion to himself. Mitsuki grinned at me.

"You're staying here." She decided.

She said it ion such a tone, I knew there was no arguing.

"I, but I, forget it." I stopped, standing up with my bowl. I'll just text Tochi.

I set it in the sink and began washing it until Masaru nudged me out of the way.

"I'll do that. Go ask Katsuki for a change of clothes." He smiled kindly at me.

I nodded and trotted up the stairs and to a hallway. I turned a corner and face planted with a bare wet chest.

I opened my eyes to see rock hard muscles and abs. I felt myself turn red as I looked up at Bakugou.

He frowned down at me as a slight blush crossed his cheeks.

"Move outta the way!" He growled, pushing past me.

His hair was wet and a little droopy as he passed and was wearing black basketball shorts.

I slunk after him and followed him into his room. It was casual. A few hero posters on the walls and a few clothes brands. It was mostly dark colors but bright with his own personality filling the room with details.

"Sweet." I said walking in.

"THE H-" I put a hand around his mouth and hissed.

"Stop fucking yelling. You dad told me to get clothes from you."

He growled and shook me of before moving to his dresser. He reached in and threw two sets of clothes at me. The first was a plain black t-shirt with exercise shorts and the second was black jeans and white t-shirts with the words "Plus Ultra" on it in black.

"Thank-" I started before he shoved me out his room and shut his door.

"What an ass." I muttered heading to the bathroom he had been in.

It was kinda steamy and hot but fine. I quickly changed and neatly folded my uniform. I headed downstairs and set them on a coffee table next to my things.

I looked at Mitsuki who smiled.

"You look cute in Katsuki's clothes. You should wear them more often." Masaru smiled as I snorted.

"He practically threw these in my face along with something for tomorrow." I chuckled.

Mitsuki smiled as her Masaru finished the kitchen and started turning off the lights.

"Night Kari. Relax tonight." She said.

"Goodnight Hikari." Masaru said kissing my head and walking upstairs with Mitsuki.

I laid on the couch and looked up at their ceiling. Grateful for their kindness.

I quickly fell asleep.
