BEACH PLEASE - PART 2

"Hi Gizz!" Melody and rest of the girls were having dinner, when she made a video call to Gisselle.

"Hey! Why are you calling me so late? And that too a video call?" Gisselle softly scolded her and let out a yawn.  Melody twisted her body a little to show Gisselle the view behind her.

"Hi!" Lyrical peeped in first, then rest of the girls screamed, squeezing in together in front of the camera.

"Whoa! What's happening?" Gisselle enquired with keenness.

"We came to the beach for weekend." Melody informed her and rest of the girls screamed with enthusiasm. "You are being missed."

"Oh Goodness! Boss. Looks like you've changed." Gisselle complained and giggled, teasing her a little, while Melody rolled her eyes and Leia added. "Yes Gisselle. I totally agree with you."

Gisselle sighed, "I wish I could be there with all of you. I'm so jealous." She pouted.

"Actually, chuck it. I've got better things to do. I've worked with you for three years and now I'm bored." Gisselle stated dramatically.

Gisselle stuck out her tongue to tease. Melody promised her to go visit her soon, to which Gisselle laughed. "Whatever happened to calling me ten times a day. I really hope you keep your promise this time at least."

The girls hollered and giggled while having dinner, then decided to play Truth or Dare in their room.

Even though Melody had strictly said no to the idea and ordered that Mia needed to rest, so nobody should stay awake till late hours. Mia, on the other hand, insisted on spending some more time with her friends tonight, just chilling.

"It's not every day we get to spend time with each other, like this. Especially with you," indicating Melody. However still, Melody did not accompanied the girls, she went to her room after dinner, took bath and went to sleep.

The girls were reminiscing their old days, they discussed about their high school and university days. Lyrical told them about her mother, and how she had passed away in front of her own eyes. She had to leave her father behind and right now, she wishes for her father to be with her or at least she could visit him for few days.

It was too late at night when Melody noticed Lyrical had yet not come back, hence she went to check on them.  When she entered the room the girls were still wide awake, happily giggling and having pillow fights with each other.

"Are you people planning to sleep the whole day tomorrow? Do you want Mia to fall sick?" Melody questioned them. Instead of feeling guilty, Mia shamelessly pulled Melody down to sit with them for some time.  "You should sit with us, Melody. Don't be such a spoil sport." Mia said to her.

Mia and other girls kept on insisting so much, so Melody did not have the heart to reject them over and over again. Out of no other option, she sat down beside Lyrical.

Mia cleared her throat and said, "I met him when I was still studying, in university. He was my senior and I liked him a little. But I was so much into studies and getting good grades that I took no notice of him or anyone who tried to approach me, for that matter. Recently, like almost a year back, we met again, accidently and then started dating. Now I regret it, obviously. But.. only the dating part and not the little one in my belly part.

But the brighter side of the story is, it is good that nothing happened during my university days. I wouldn't have been able to handle the pregnancy and most importantly, I wouldn't have qualified to join Melody. So, I disagree with whoever is in favor, becausee according to me first love was a disaster."

Carol turned her head to Lyrical, "You turn." Lyrical shook her head.

"So, you are saying you've never been in love, ever?" Carol questioned, twisting her head a little in disbelief. They were not much surprised to know Lyrical had never been in love.  Lyrical went on silent mode.

"It's ok. No big deal" Mia shrugged. "Actually it's a good thing." Leia interrupted and everybody turned to her with questioning look pasted on their face.  "What? I just have a different question to ask her." Leia shrugged her shoulders and huff.  "Lyrical. What would you say if.. if.." Leia looked around and stumbled for the right word.

Lyrical was silent and sat there without any reaction. She could listen to them, even though she was lost in her thoughts.  Leia cleared her throat "if.. I ask you out?"

Everyone was stunned. They looked at Leia then at Melody then back to Lyrical, waiting for either of them to react.

"Lyrical." Leia called her name again. This time with apprehension. "What would you say if I ask you to date me? Or at least go on a date with me."

Lyrical who was lost in her thoughts, suddenly realized what Leia was implying. "You what? Date me?"  Everyone went eerily silent.

"Relax Lyrical. It was just a question." Leia explained.  "Yeah. A rather suggestive one, isn't it?" Lyrical replied with sudden anger.  She although knew Leia meant no harm. However, still for some reason, she couldn't control the outburst.

"I did not mean it literally, just wanted to know your opinion." Leia clarified.  "Enough" Melody scolded. "Don't pester her."

Lyrical got up and left the room and Melody followed behind.

When they reached their room, Lyrical went straight inside to have a bath.  She quickly undressed and stood below the shower. After few moment, she felt herself relax under the warm water flowing down her body, which drained out the intense feeling that was building inside.

She sighed and came out of the shower, only to realize she had not brought her clothes, not even a towel. She called Melody's name, but received no reply.

Even after calling her name thrice, when she did not any respond, Lyrical assumed Melody might've either gone out or already slept.  Lyrical cussed at herself and stepped outside the bathroom slowly.

"Whoa!" Melody cried, when Lyrical bumped into her.

"Watch where.. shitt!!" Melody as usual wanted to tease Lyrical. But, the moment she realized that Lyrical was standing there stark naked, she quickly turned around and Lyrical ran inside the bathroom again.

Slowly, Melody took out towel from her bag and knocked on the door. "I-I don't know the code of your bag, uhm.. why don't you use mine. Wrap this on you and come out, then you can wear your clothes."

Lyrical opened the door and literally snatched the towel and banged it close again.

"Hey! I am going down. You want anything?" and that's how Melody assured Lyrical that when she comes out, Melody won't be in the room.

"No. Don't go far. I'll take 15 mins. I mean come back soon, it's already very late." Lyrical cried out, trying not to show her embarassment. Also, it was like an unknown understanding between them. They had started to appreciate and value each other.

Both of them smiled and Melody walked out of the room, but stayed near the corridor and Lyrical wrapped the towel around her body and came out of the bathroom, quickly took out her shorts and blue top and changed into it.

Both of them slept facing the opposite side of each other, and remained stiff as stick.

Lyrical still felt a little embarrassed of what happened earlier and so it was clearly getting even more uncomfortable situation for her. Furthermore they had to share the bed.

Since the room was booked only for Melody, it had just a single bed in it. And now they both had to share it.

"Can I ask you something?" Melody was the one to break the awkward silence.

"Hmm" Lyrical replied.

"Can you please forgive Leia? I'm sure she didn't mean to offend you." Melody whispered.

"She is my friend, I don't mind her stupid joke. Don't you worry." Lyrical smiled to herself. It was sweet of Melody to defend Leia.

After a few moments of silence, Melody spoke again.  "Can I ask you something?"

"Oh.. k." Lyrical got up and sat on the bed facing Melody's back. "Now, what exactly is bothering you?"  Melody did not immediately turn around, but when she did, she looked at Lyrical attentively, "I should be the one to ask you, what exactly is bothering you?"

Lyrical looked clueless of what Melody was trying to imply here. She racked her brain thinking what was that her boss was trying to say. That's when Melody interrupted her thoughts, "Back in there..."

"Huh?" Lyrical shook her head rapidly, to clear her mind and focus on what Melody was saying.

"Back in that room.." Melody sighed deeply. "Listen. I'll be very direct with my question and you can choose not to answer, but don't be offended."  Lyrical nodded her head in agreement. "Ok."

"You.. did have someone you used to like, or maybe you still do? Isn't it? That first love thing." Melody candidly put forward her question in order to find out why had Lyrical suddenly had gone silent.  Lyrical did not react, nor did she say anything. She was still silent and seemed a little lost in her own thoughts.

"This is exactly how you reacted back in there. When they asked you, if you like someone. Though you denied, but in a way you didn't. You suddenly went.... quiet," Melody pointed out.

"Yea. That's because I have nothing to say." Lyrical whispered after a thought. "I don't even know who he is. Rest all the questions comes later, I don't know the basic information about the person I liked."

Melody nodded.. 'So there is someone you liked.' she mumbled to herself.

"..Because he was a coward and did not turn up to meet that day when we were supposed to meet." Lyrical spat in anger, but her voice was hoarse.  She looked more very sad and was clearly upset, hurt even, rather than angry.

"Care to explain?" Melody probed, still looking at Lyrical without reacting much or forcing her to reply.

"Where do I start from?" Lyrical' mind went back to that time and she was once again lost in a deep thought.

"All of my life I've only called my brother's group of friends, as my friends. I've always been under his shade or should I say supervision. Not that I regretted it, ever..." She sighed before continuing, "..but, for the first time in my life, I-I made a friend, you know. I was so happy, because he was so good to me, it was so much fun to talk to him."  Lyrical paused to look at Melody and saw her nodding in understanding.  "Go on." She urged Lyrical.

"Every morning, I used to wake up, feeling all excited, to go for my classes. I often lied to my brother and tried my best to reach way too early for my classes, just so I could see him, meet him. Because I knew, he would be there." she chuckled sadly.. Melody noticed, but said nothing.

"Every morning I would receive this gift cards with a message and the most beautiful flower from him."  Lyrical smiled at Melody and she returned the smile cheerfully.  "Well, that's cool." Melody put her thumbs up. "But, I never met him." Lyrical replied with sadness.

Once again, Melody did not say anything, so Lyrical continued, "Once. Just once, he agreed to meet me. I waited Melody, for a long time, I waited for him. First, I waited for him to agree to meet me, then I waited for him to turn up to meet me. But.. he never came."  Lyrical closed her eyes and sighed with melancholy as those memories flashed in front of her eyes. She looked extremely sad and most importantly she looked dejected.

Melody scooted and pulled her into embrace. Lyrical buried her face in Melody's arms and maybe even shed a tear. She let out of depressed sigh and gave a little muffled cry.

"Melody." Lyrical whispered, her voice was almost inaudible. "What hurts the most is, after that day he stopped talking to me altogether, or sending me those cards. He never tried to contact me again. And, I don't even know the reason why, not even who that person was. Why did he not come to see me. I mean.. what did I do wrong for him to avoid me? Maybe he even forgot about me."

Melody released her and put her hand on her head, soothing her hair, "He- that person, must have his own reason. All you can do is wait, maybe one day you will get all your answers." She replied positively and assured Lyrical.

For whatever unknon reason, Lyrical did not complain when they slept entwined with each other that night. Silence stretched between them, both it didn't feel uncomfortable anymore.

The following morning, Melody was the first to wake up and found Lyrical snuggling into her. Melody smiled at the marvelous view, her heart beating hard in her chest. She brushed some hair out of Lyrical' face and tugged it behind her ears.

Lyrical stirred in her sleep and snuggled even more into Melody, a beautiful smile lingering on her face.  Melody had this sudden urge to kiss her, but she decided to do otherwise. She knew she couldn't... she shouldn't.

Melody slowly and carefully, not to disturb Lyrical' sleep, tried to remove her hand from below Lyrical' head and tried to get out of the bed. But, right at that moment, Lyrical opened her eyes, when Melody was still in the process of removing her hand, which resulted in their face to come extremely close to each other.

For few seconds, Lyrical was stunned to find Melody so close to her that she could feel her breath on her face, while Melody was shocked because the position that they were in right now, would surely upset Lyrical and create a misunderstanding between them.

Melody panicked and pulled out her hand curtly causing Lyrical' head to fall on the bed. Melody did not sit or linger on the bed even for a second, she rushed inside to take a bath and left to wake up the rest of the girls, leaving Lyrical alone in the room.

Once all the girls were ready, they came down to have breakfast. Leia apologized as soon as she saw Lyrical, to which Lyrical replied with a bear hug and pat on her shoulder.  "I'll be happy to go on a date with you, but don't ask me to date you."

Melody was already at the beach, when they were still having their breakfast.  When the girls reached at the beach, they were overjoyed and pleasantly surprised to see the breathtaking view. The water of the beach was crystal blue, sand was soft under their feet. The sun was kind enough not to bore hole in them with its fierceness. The sky was filled with fluffy clouds, which made it nice and pleasant. The waves on beach were flowing sluggishly, but after few hours it became fierce.

There were lot of people enjoying their time. Some of them went water skiing and few went to surf, Lyrical felt amused watching them riding the huge waves. But what attracted her attention the most was Melody, she was surfing like a pro, challenging the waves to dare make her fall off the board.

Lyrical stood watching her, feeling intrigued at the expertise.

Melody then went for skiing and later for the boat ride. For most of the time, Melody remained alone.  She went alone in all of the rides, because none of the others knew to surf or ski. But during the boat ride, Melody asked Leia to accompany her, instead of Lyrical and she definitely did not like it.

Until that time, Lyrical stood fascinated by Melody, however, the moment she asked Leia to accompany her for the boat ride, Lyrical left from the beach and walked inside the hotel, straight to her room.

"Why didn't you ask her?" Leia questioned. "I am watching you. Since morning you have been avoiding her, why?" Melody did not answer immediately and Leia didn't mind either. Moreover, Melody had a faint scowl that was enough to tell her 'who is the boss.' Furthermore, the boat ride was way too thrilling, that she kept giggling all the time.

For most of the time that they were at the beach, the girls spend it sitting on the sand and talking or taking pictures as a memory. Only Melody made the most of the day. Carol whined, she wanted to go for the boat ride too. So, Melody took Carol with her, for the next ride.

Sun was setting and Lyrical was nowhere to be found. They made several calls to her, but they went unanswered.

Melody went back to her room and found Lyrical sleeping. She texted Leia to inform about Lyrical and soon they barged into her room looking for their friend.  Lyrical at first came to her room, because she was feeling uncomfortably upset and she had no idea why. But, eventually ended up dozing off.

"What are you doing here, Lyrical? We were so worried, when you did not answer our calls." Mia complained.  "Sorry. I wasn't feeling well and came here to take rest. I should've informed you." Lyrical made up excuse for her stupidity.

They went to eat dinner and Melody sat beside Leia. Lyrical was stung with jealousy, but, she decide to ignore it. According to her, jealousy and that too because of Melody was impossible. She was just being stupid. However, she lost it when Melody ignored her subtle attempt to make conversations.

As a consequences to Melody's ignorance, Lyrical went back to her room, before everyone else. She had already made an excuse earlier and said that she wasn't feeling well which is why she had gone back to her room without letting anyone know. So this time she came up with same lame excuse and left from the beach as fast as she could.

'It's your fault boss," Leia accused, narrowing her eyes while she looked at Melody. "Why did you ask me for the boat ride, instead of her? And why the hell are you sitting with me and not with her?"

At first, Melody furrowed her brows at Leia. She didn't like being questioned. But she also understood they were concerned about their friend, but they did not understand the situation. "It's your fault. She is homophobic and you triggered her last night." Melody countered. "You.. don't poke fun on the issues, you have no knowledge of the gravity of the situation."

"That was yesterday," Leia interjected. "And now everything is settled between us. She has agreed to go on a date with me" she giggled. Melody rolled her eyes. "Yea right."

Carol interrupted, "No Leia. Not everything is as easy as it looks. We are extremely sorry, boss. Maybe, we overdid few things and over-stepped our boundaries." She apologized and Mia agreed with her.  "It's Ok." Melody replied assuring them.

Melody went back to her room and found Lyrical standing at the window.  "What are you looking at?" Melody disturbed Lyrical' peace.

As soon as Lyrical heard her voice, she went red with anger. Even more because she couldn't figure out the exact reason that was making her so upset.  "Not sleepy." Lyrical replied briefly.

"Dodo. Were you really unwell or jealous?" Melody audaciously questioned.

"My foot. Why would I?" Lyrical retorted with anger. Or was it embarrassment that she was feeling, she wasn't sure.

Instead of arguing further, Lyrical tugged herself inside the blanket and prepared to sleep. Lyrical still remembered, she should not debate with Melody, because Melody is always on point with her argument, especially when she goes all bold with her.

'How can she always be so sure of everything? So annoying.' Lyrical murmured to herself.

"I just heard you agreed to go on a date with Leia?" Melody asked Lyrical', but since her back was facing Melody and Lyrical did not reply, Melody could not figure out her expression.

Lyrical went quiet when that question reached her ears she did not attempt to move either, giving an impression that she has already fallen asleep.  Lyrical sincerely hoped they don't discuss this any further and fortunately Melody did not make an attempt to either.  In fact, both of them did not sleep much that night, lost in their thought.

The following day, they took the car and went on a quick shopping trip. All this time, Melody and Lyrical did not talk to each other.  They checked out in the morning itself, but left from the hotel by noon, the plan was that they should reach home before dinner.

Lyrical was the last person remaining to be dropped at home. Melody deliberately dropped everyone home, before her. If Lyrical noticed then she did not complain and rest of them happily obliged to the setting.

"Are you not coming in?" Lyrical asked her whilst unbuckling her seatbelt.  "It's too late, maybe next time." Melody replied sternly.  "Melody, I know you will not cook at home. What are you planning to eat for dinner? At least come in with me and have dinner." Lyrical insisted, but Melody shook her head in response.  Lyrical silently remained seated where she was, adamant to take Melody home with her.

"What is your problem?" Melody snapped in frustration and anger.  Lyrical wrapped the seatbelt again but said nothing.

"Will you say something, for heaven's sake. Since last night you've been acting all weird with me," Melody screeched in anger. She was unable to bear the silent treatment from Lyrical anymore.

Lyrical scoffed, "Something's wrong with me? No, I don't think so. But then, what about you? Are you that disappointed to leave the beach, that you are not hungry anymore? You were enjoying yourself so much, isn't it?"  "Yes. I am" Melody retorted again.  "Then what do you want to do? Go back? Should I call Leia or you want to do it yourself?" Lyrical sneered at Melody.

"Go Home. I am really not in the mood for your tantrums. First you ignore and give me a silent treatment and now you are being sarcastic. And you know what the real problem is? You are in denial," Melody raised her voice on Lyrical.

"What the hell do you mean denial?" Lyrical snapped.  Melody stared at Lyrical sitting silently, breathing heavily. Then suddenly scoffed, unbuckled her seat belt and moved dangerously closer to her.  "That you.. my dear, are jealous. You hated that I was getting closer to Leia," She breathe seductively.

"You've lost your bloody mind, Melody. Why would I be jealous, and that too because of you? Unlike you, I am not into girls, remember?" she huffed and stepped out of the car.  "Sleep Well. You need it, Melody. I will see you tomorrow morning."

Once Lyrical was out of sight, Melody drove as fast as she could to reach home. Feeling frustrated, she slammed her head on the car head rest and took a deep breath.

Later that night, Lyrical was unable to sleep. She tossed and turned and then finally sat on her bed irritated.  Lyrical texted Melody, 'Are you still awake? And did you eat something?'

She did not receive any reply. Assuming Melody must've already gone to sleep, she kept her phone aside.  Suddenly a thought hit her and she picked her phone to dial the number.

"What do you want?" Melody answered her phone, still angry.  "I knew it. You were not sleeping, just ignoring my text." Lyrical remarked.  "So what?" Melody questioned and wanted to disconnect the call. She was really in no mood to deal with Lyrical.  "I don't know what makes you think I was jealous, but trust me that is not the case. Ok." Lyrical explained, but Melody replied with half-hearted "Hmm."

"Melody. Listen, I'm sorry. I-It was rude of me to comment on your sexuality again." Lyrical apologized sincerely.  Even though she realized it a bit late, but she seriously did not mean to hurt Melody.

"OK" Meloody curtly replied.  "Goodness Melody. You are back to your binary language. What hmm? Ok? Say something. Anything." Lyrical insisted.

"I don't fucking care what you think or with who you go on a date with." Melody was direct with her reply. "Come with me this weekend to one of my friends club. Last time you screwed up."
