DRAWN TOWARDS YOU

mAs a consequence to all fuss and feathers, the day ended with unexpected turn of events. The following day when Lyrical woke up, her head was throbbing and body was sore. It took her a brief moment to open her eyes, as the morning light sneaking slightly through the window felt like torture to her eyes and she was in no mood to wake up.

Lyrical soon realized, she was naked and it was not her bedroom she was sleeping in.

This dark house.... uh, doesn't it belong to her boss?

"Shucks! It's indeed Melody's apartment', Lyrical concluded whilst groaning in pain.  She sat on the bed pulling her hair, out of confusion while trying to control the severe headache that was splitting her head in two right now.

As soon as Lyrical remembered what had happened last night, she desperately wished, if she could blame it on Melody. That... it was her boss, the one, who forced herself on Lyrical, or perhaps the better idea would be to blame the bloody alcohol.  But, Lyrical knew it very well, that whatever happened, it was consensual and it would be a lie if she said it was otherwise.

"Why the fuck did I drink that beer?" She cussed at herself and groaned. "Oh, God!! I want to die."

Her body was extremely tired and her head was hurting. All she wanted to do was, get out of the apartment and hide in a place where at least Melody would be unable to find her. But, on the other hand, she also wanted to sleep some more, at least until her body feels better.

Lyrical noticed a note kept on the table beside the bed that read - 'Out to get breakfast. Take the medicine with the juice and DON'T LEAVE.'

After taking the medicine, she felt a little better. But was in no mood to get out the bed, as her body was still not supporting lethargic body and splitting head. She crouched down on the bed again, pulling the sheet up to her head.

Just as the severe headache stopped torturing her, memories of last night came flooding in front of her eyes. She started breathing heavily, tossed, and turned on the bed.

After spending almost the entire day looking for Melody, Lyrical was very exhausted, both mentally and physically.  Hence, as soon as she saw Melody in a terrible state, drunk and looking defeated, Lyrical felt helplessly sad for her boss . Lyrical, no doubt, was relieved to find her boss without any self-harm, the thing that everyone was worried about the most.

Lyrical felt the person she knew as her boss and worked with, was not the same. The one sitting in front of her couldn't be that flirtatious and cheesy person she had met on the first day she had gone for the interview... because her boss always had a smile stuck on her face.  No matter how annoying it felt, Lyrical, had got used to that smiling face by now.

Initially, Lyrical wanted to beat the hell out of Melody, smash her head and kill her if she could. Lyrical was so infuriated that she had made up her mind, that after she gets all the answers from Melody... that Lyrical deserved to know, she would not waste even a second to kill that reckless woman who made her run all day in search of her.

Lyrical was desperate to know, why would Melody make her friends so worried, by going missing for the entire day, like this? Or why would Melody lie to everyone.. they are her best friends, afterall? And most importantly why did Melody lie that they both are together?

But, before Lyrical could ask her anything, Melody's accusation towards her, answered everything.

"Melody!!!" Lyrical had bawled at her and snatched the beer bottle that her boss was holding and gulped down the remaining liquid before smashing the bottle. Lyrical had felt dehydrated and famished because she had to spend the entire day looking for Melody.

When Melody did not react to Lyrical yelling this way, she felt annoyed.

"Melody!!", Lyrical ahd screamed  even louder, calling her name again, but received no reaction which aggravated her annoyance. Now she was seriously fuming in anger and still felt helplessly worried for Melody.

Lyrical couldn't stand watching her boss like this anymore. Her knees became so weak that they gave away and Lyrical slouched down and pulled Melody towards herself and hugged her tightly, "Goodness! Melody, what's wrong with you? Where have you been the entire day? I was so worried." she mewled and whined.

"Sorry. I wanted to be alone," Lyrical heard Melody whisper which was as good as being inaudible.  "Oh, but I found you. I found you." Lyrical cried in joy and relief, while her happy tears rolled down her cheeks.

Just as Lyrical' tears dried and her cries died down, something expected happened. "So, tell me what are you doing here? Weren't you supposed to be with your guy? That handsome boy you had kissed and even went to see the next day." Lyrical heard Melody whining sadly.

"Why-what?" Lyrical stepped back and stared at her boss, totally in disbelief. "How dare you?"

"Didn't you ask for leave, because you both wanted to spend time together? Even after I denied you the leave, you just left.. not even once-- y-you." Melody looked at her with melancholy. "Then, you should leave." she slightly sniffled.  Melody shook her hand as if dismissing her. "Just go."

"..the fuck Melody? I went half-crazy-- no totally insane looking for you the entire day. Instead of asking me- 'How am I doing?' You're telling me to leave?" Lyrical retorted.

"Yes," Melody replied curtly. Her one-word rude answer wounded Lyrical more than she could imagine would be possible.

"Fine. You want me to leave? I will do just that. But, not before I kill you," Lyrical barked. "Where the fuck have you been, huh? Do you have any idea how worried everybody was? Gisselle is pregnant for fuck's sake and you made her worried?"  Lyrical could feel her whole body shivering with anger and hatred. She did not know if it's even possible to hate someone so much, but every time  Melody argued with her, she drived out an intense emotional reaction from her.

"You know, Edwina came running as soon as she heard you were missing.  Damn it, Melody, you even lied to her? Why would you tell her and even to Joey that you are with me when you weren't?" Lyrical grimaced bitterly, tears were again on the verge of rolling down her pale skin.

"Because I wanted to-- to see you today. I told you to come to the office, but do you ever listen to me? Do you, huh?" Melody pulled Lyrical towards her, "Answer me, C'mon. Tell me?" she spat in anger.  Melody's grip on Lyrical' arms was so tight that she couldn't stop her tears anymore.

"Mel. You're hurting me." Her voice trembled.  Only then did Melody realize her grip was way too tight on the pale and fragile girl in front of her.

"S-sorry. I didn't mean to.." Melody immediately let go of her hand. They remain seated like this for some time, not looking at each other.  "I'll be back." Lyrical whispered, breaking the silence.

"Don't. Please. I'm s-sorry." Melody pleaded and held Lyrical's hand.  "I'm feeling thirsty and need a drink, Melody. Let me go and buy one."  Lyrical tried to control her anger, while she replied to her boss, who was apologizing to her right now after she wrongly accusing her and being rude to her.

When Melody released her hand, Lyrical scoffed. 'How convenient, is it. First, she pesters me and then apologizes?' Lyrical murmured to herself while she walked away.  Her throat was very dry, so Lyrical bought a beer can and drank it. By the time she returned with the bottle of water in her hand, she and her boss had calmed down.

Their anger had subsided and Melody had sobered up, just a little bit.

Lyrical gave one of the bottle to Melody and sat beside her. Her boss slid down to rest her head on Lyrical's shoulder.

Lyrical took a deep breath, letting go of her hatred, she wished her boss, "Happy Birthday!!" assuming Melody is too drunk and won't hear her, but to her surprise Melody replied and apologized on behalf of her friends who had troubled Lyrical.

Once again Lyrical rolled her eyes when she heard Melody apologize. But, when Melody said, ".. I didn't mean to make them worried," Lyrical decided she needed to know as to what made Melody behave irrationally. However, she ended up hitting Melody so hard that she had to pull Lyrical's hand together as it was hurting her very much.

But, Lyrical cribbed as well, "I was hurting too, Melody. I thought I would die if I don't find you."

Melody couldn't help but pull Lyrical in her arms and soothe her. That's exactly when everything started.

"Fuck!!!" Lyrical screamed at herself. "How - I mean why, oh, why? Why did you kiss her? How could you, Lyrical? Foolish woman." and pulled the sheet tightly over her head and dug herself inside the pillows.

Lyrical was so lost in her thought, that she had not heard the door open and Melody coming in. While Lyrical buried her face in the sheet and screamed at herself in muffled voice, Melody could still hear her.  Melody chuckled, looking at what her stupid assistant was doing.

"If you're done with-- whatever you are doing, come out for breakfast." Melody teased.

Lyrical did not dare come out of the sheet and show her face, as she was blushing hard. Both with embarrassment and butterflies flapping it's wings around inside her stomach.

Once she heard Melody's footsteps leaving the room, Lyrical peeked out of the sheet, slid down the bed, and collected all her clothes. She tiptoed to the bathroom, while Melody was not looking.  Lyrical had a warm water bath and could feel her body relax under the shower.

She was panicking and pondering all this time about how to face Melody. She quietly left the bathroom and moved towards the bedroom.  "Quit dawdling," she heard Melody's voice. Lyrical turned around and greeted Melody who stood in the kitchen waiting for her. "The food is getting cold. Come sit."

They ate breakfast in silence. Both did not bring up the topic of what happened last night. If not Melody, at least Lyrical was thankful for it.

Lyrical kept stealing glances at Melody and realized, no matter how many times she denied it, the truth will not change, which was-- Lyrical felt herself getting drawn towards Melody each passing day. It was an indescribable feeling, so strong she couldn't resist and had no control over herself.

Whenever Melody was around, she felt happy. When she complimented, Lyrical felt good about herself and when Melody flirted, her heart trembled.  Lyrical wasn't lying yesterday when she said- she felt like she would die if she's unable to find Melody. This unknown 'attraction', as Lyrical would call it, had grown strong without her realizing it.

She wasn't in love with her, Lyrical was sure of that, however, she was ready to explore the possibility of being with Melody.

"Do you want to go to see Gisselle? I am planning to leave sometime next week." Melody asked, breaking into her thoughts.  "Wha-? Hmm. Yes. I want to." Lyrical replied. "But, right now I have to go to office first, I mean at Joey's." Lyrical chuckled.

"Wear my clothes or... you want me to drop you home?" Melody suggested.  "Can you drop me at Joey's? I'm sure he would want to see you today." Lyrical proposed and Melody nodded in agreement.

Lyrical went towards Melody's wardrobe and took out a casual tee which was more or less off-shoulder for her and wore it over her jeans.  Lyrical studied at herself in the mirror, "Contrary to your image, you dress really.."

"Casually?" Melody interjected.  "Weird actually. Annoying to be honest," Lyrical commented teasingly and scoffed.  Melody feigned anger, looped her arm around Lyrical, and dragged her towards herself. "Why do you find everything about me so annoying?", she asked.  Lyrical freed herself from Melody's arms and moved a bit far, her heartbeat and breathing intensified. "Uhm.."

Lyrical cleared her throat. "I- I don't know. It is what it is?" she scoffed and shrugged.

While riding in Melody's car, Lyrical' mind drifted to what happened last night. Although she was lightheaded, she couldn't forget the way Melody looked at her with adoration, got jealous of Kevin assuming they are dating. How Melody's little jealousy gave Lyrical butterflies in her stomach, made her feel wanted and her body craved for Melody's touch. The kiss they shared was so wonderful.

Even if Lyrical wouldn't have had the drink, she still would've felt dizzy, as the kiss was very intoxicating. Lyrical had never felt like this before, she had never been kissed like this before.  It was infuriating and amazing at the same time.

"What's wrong with you?" Melody's voice pulled her back to the present.  "What do you mean?" she asked with confusion.  "You- are play- Nothing. Forget it." Melody dismissed the topic and was driving silently, her eyes trained on the road. But Lyrical was adamant. "Will you complete the sentence? What were you trying to say just now?"

Melody shook her head, "Nothing."  Lyrical gave a very stern look and warned her, "Melody, I will kill you. You are ver-"

"Stop touching your lips, will you?" Melody interjected.

Both blushed, then went silent immediately after and did not chat until they reach Lyrical's house, where she again invited Melody but her boss refused to come in.  Melody noticed the door was unlocked and assumed that her uncle and aunt had returned, so she politely declined the invitation.

Lyrical rolled her eyes, went in to change into her clothes, and came back after thirty minutes and they headed to Joey's art gallery.

Joey was upset with Melody and refused to talk to her. Melody repeatedly apologized, but Joey was obstinate. It was only after Lyrical requested, did he forgave Melody.  "You both seemed to have teamed up against me." Melody kidded and Joey stuck out his tongue at her.

Joey and Melody spent most of the afternoon time discussing the art event that was coming up. Lyrical noticed, not only Melody was breathtakingly beautiful, but also had an aura around her, her friendly nature that took over everyone she met.

It was almost lunch time, when Melody found her way towards Lyrical, and whispered, "Feeling ignored?" Lyrical blushed so hard that her cheeks turned to beetroot red. "Why would I?" she lied. However, her heart was aching for Melody's attention.

Melody's phone rang and Edwina's name was flashing on the screen. As soon as Melody answered the call, the first questioned that she asked was, "How did it go last night? Did you take her virginity?"

"What the hell are you talking about?" Melody pretended as if she had no idea about what Edwina was referring to.  "You don't lie to me girl. We've been friends for so long, that I can see the difference between your flings and her. I know you were dying to get into her pants last evening." Edwina jested and laughed.

"Shut up, Ed. Just tell me, will you be coming to see Gisselle? I plan to fly next week." Melody inquired.  "Is she coming too?? Your assistant?" Edwina irritated Melody with her questions.  "Well. I asked her today. And I think yes, she is coming too." Melody replied plainly.  "Cool. Count me in." Edwina replied. "But.. there's one problem you still need to sort," she added.  "Now what?" Melody was sure her friend is about to say something to tease her, instead what Edwina said made Melody worried.

"Monica is looking for you. She looks very dejected, Melody, you need to talk to her. You are being unfair to that girl." Edwina sternly reprimanded. "Yes. I will." Melody answered.

Melody turned around after she disconnected the call and found Lyrical staring at her. She wondered if Lyrical was able to see the blush on her face or did she hear the conversation.  Melody wanted to talk about what happened last night, especially to know what she felt about it. 'Will I ever be able to confess everything to her,' she murmured to herself.

Day went on, while Joey and Melody were busy with their discussion, Lyrical kept feeling left alone.  She went through her phone to check the message that she had received yesterday. It did not come as a surprise that she missed calls and messages from her brother, office gang, and Jennifer.  Just when she was going through the messages one by one, she received a call from Kevin.

"Hey!" Lyrical chirped on the phone.  "Happy Birthday!" Kevin sang on the other end. "Sorry for not calling yesterday. I thought I shouldn't be disturbing or keeping you busy on your special day." he teased.  "Oh, and why is that?" Lyrical asked.  "So, I can ask you out today," he replied frankly.

"Kev..." Lyrical drawled.

"Hey, this is not fair. I thought we are friends and, friends celebrate their birthdays together. Yesterday, I let you go, but today you have to come" Kevin argued. ".. and just so you know Jennifer will be there with us. She is upset that you did not answer her calls yesterday. I think you should come, if not for me then for her.

Lyrical felt guilty towards Jennifer, so she replied, "Kevin. I'll think about it and let you know. Please."

Melody heard the one-sided conversation and was feeling upset, so when Joey teased her for eve-dropping, she took him along with her and just disappeared, not return till evening.  Lyrical was left alone the rest of the day. She only received a text from Joey that she can leave once she is done with her work, but Lyrical chose not to leave.

Lyrical was angry because they both left her alone and Melody did not text or call her after that. She was also feeling a little uneasy because Melody took Joey along and not her. However, couldn't help but think about last night.

Without even trying, her shameless mind took her back to where she felt the tingles and butterflies on her body.  If Edwina wouldn't have interrupted, they would have made out at that place itself. Lyrical blushed and smiled. She went inside Joey's cabin and sat alone, smiling to herself.

As their lips met, Lyrical thought of the weird dream she had the previous night. She felt the touch of Melody's lips felt familiar as if they had kissed before.  "This is not the first time we kissed, right?" Lyrical whispered as they ended the kiss, her chest heaved as she tried to control her uneven breath.

Melody was so shocked by this question, she averted her eyes. Then slightly shook her head.  "So, what happened and when?" Lyrical had asked, nervously biting her lips. She somehow couldn't remember it, but, something happened between them, she was sure of that much.

"Do we need to talk about it? It was just a moment and--" Melody couldn't even complete her sentence when Lyrical interrupted, "How long was that moment, exactly?" Lyrical squinted her eyes.  "Whatever happened- just--can't we?" Melody tried her best to avoid answering but Lyrical shook her head adamantly.

Edwina came to her rescue when she brought them something to eat, but both Melody and Lyrical refused to eat.

Melody was still not much into her senses, hence Edwina requested her to fill up her stomach with food, or she would fall sick by the following morning. Melody shook her head and refused, therefore Edwina forcibly made both of them eat a little.  Later, they left in Edwina's jeep because Melody had not brought her car. Lyrical rested her head on Melody's shoulder and she held Lyrical tightly in her arms.

Edwina dropped them at Melody's apartment and left, but what happened next was not hard for her to guess. Edwina knew her friend and the look on her face when she saw Lyrical, also the affection in her eyes for her assistant was very much visible to Edwina.

The moment Edwina left, Lyrical found Melody's fingers encircling her forearm. "Don't leave." Melody muttered. "I mean, just stay here tonight" she rephrased.

"Then sleep with her me on the bed. I don't like it, that you have to sleep on the couch whenever I'm here," Lyrical replied, biting her lips, afraid of getting rejected. Melody stared at her, "I-I don't think that's a good idea. Last time--"  Lyrical moved forwards and hugged Melody's back, "Please", she pleaded.

As her hand snaked inside Melody's jacket, urging her to remove it and then inside her sleeves, Melody completely gave in.

"Oh, what the hell." Melody groaned and claimed her mouth in a kiss with was hungry and eager, and Lyrical responded to it with equal passion.

Once they broke the kiss, a wide smile spread across Lyrical's face and Melody massaged her shoulder affectionately. Lyrical could feel a tingling sensation all over her body. She felt overwhelmed with excitement so she drew Melody's face near, with her hand and crashed their lips together kissing and tugging it.

Melody breathed heavily, her eyes were full of lust and her mouth hungry for Lyrical, she pulled Lyrical closer kissing her neck, nibbling on it. This was sure to leave a mark, but neither of them cared. What mattered the most was, what was happening right now and how they felt.

The feel of what Melody was doing to her did not disgust Lyrical, as she thought it would. Truth be told, she was savoring every second of it. Beads of sweat formed on her forehead.

Melody pulled her to the bed and Lyrical climbed over her, not leaving her lips. She kissed Melody's neck, her collarbone, and returned to her lips, each time leaving a mark on her body.

"Oh Goodness! This is insane," Lyrical cried and Melody rolled them over.

She kissed her forehead lovingly, while her hands found it's way inside her clothes. Melody lifted her clothes and kissed the soft flesh on her stomach, while Lyrical closed her eyes and arched her back.

Melody lifted her clothes further and removed them over her head, showering kisses all over her body. Lyrical did not know what she should hold on to. She held Melody's shoulder and dug her nails, then she grabbed Melody's hair and pulled her down, towards her body.

Lyrical never had ever felt this excited in her life before. This feeling was unknown to her, but she wanted to explore more of it. She felt hot all over, gasped for breath. Her mind was filled with nervousness and excitement.

"Mel" Lyrical called her name, her voice was hoarse. When Melody did not stop showering kisses on her she called her name a little louder "Mel"

Melody traced her navel with her tongue "Shh-- Mel." Lyrical cussed, crying with excitement, and tapped Melody's shoulder.

"What? You ok, love? Melody enquired with concern. "Are you hurt or something happened?"

"Mel!" Lyrical whispered.  "Tell me what is it?" Melody urged.

"Get off Me," Lyrical replied between her teeth.  "Ok. But what is it?" Melody was worried now.

"I-I" Lyrical stuttered. "Fuck! I need to pee. Mel, get the hell off me," She screamed.

"Ow!" Lyrical could feel her bladder bursting, she stumbled whilst she rolled out of the bed and made her way to the bathroom.  "Are you alright?" Melody asked, but received no response.

"Aw-haw!" Lyrical could feel a warm liquid passing through her as she sat on the toilet seat. She sighed in relief once she was done. "Why is everything so hot?"  She came out and saw Melody on the couch, "You just had few sips of a fucking beer," Melody teased.

"So? Am I not allowed to pee?" Lyrical shrugged and bumped into something and staggered towards the bed.  "Need help?" Melody teased again. Lyrical wanted to cry out of anger and frustration but chose to go to sleep instead and thankfully Melody did not enter the bedroom again.
