Chapter 41 - Marriage Offer

The kid slowly woke up blinking his tired eyes at them.

"Maroko!! Oh my god," the fisherman hugged his son and wailed. Along with him, his wife and his little baby cried.

As the outsiders, Wren stood silently in the corner with an awkward look. "Little birdie, did I do well? I saved a life,"

"Chirp..." the bird unenthusiastically chirped at him. 'don't care,'

Qu Wren caressed its head. "Are you still sick? What's wrong?" he kissed his head softly.

The bird just rolled onto his back and kicked his face away with his little chicken feet.

"Okay, okay, I get that you are hungry." he sat down in the corner of the house and pulled out the small parcel of grubs. They were wiggling around with their fat, white bodies. The bird voluntary jumped from his hands and swallowed the worms.

"ahh! You have learned to eat on your own. That's great. What a hunter." he cupped the little bird close and kissed his little head again.

Feng Mian just blankly glanced up at him. 'You deceiver, how dare you kiss me, huh? I'm definitely going to seek my revenge.'

"Sir Monster, thank you... thank you so much," the fisherman suddenly went down on his knees.

"It's okay, you don't have to prostrate yourself." Wren pulled him up and smiled at him. "You helped me out, and I helped you. Isn't that our deal?"

"Sir~~ how can we ever repay your gracefulness, even my entire life is not worth your favour," he sobbed whist kowtowing again and again.

Wren, at this point, just felt very awkward. "It's okay... you... you are making me feel awkward," he whispered.

The pair stood up, suddenly wiping away their tears. "Sir, have you eaten anything? Martha is the food ready."

"I was just about to make porridge." His wife ran over to the small stove and started cooking.

Wren happily sat down and played with his little bird. But sadly, the birdie was not in the mood to play with him at all.

Feng Mian just moved away from his prodding fingers. 'Get lost you deceiver.'

Soon the fisherman's wife ran over with a streaming bowl of porridge. It was completely watered down, but Wren happily drank it.

"How is it, sir?"

"It's good thank you so much for letting me stay,"

"It's no problem at all. Please stay here. I have a bed outside I will guard the house."

The fisherman arranged some sleeping mats and went out. His wife as well went out with him leaving behind his two kids. One was a little baby who was sleeping soundly other was a little boy who they just saved.

Wren curiously glanced at the baby in particular. "They don't seem that bad, right birdie. Do you think child-raising is hard?"

Feng Mian just scoffed and slapped his head with his wing. 'Get lost how would I know about child care,'

Wren gently touched the child's soft hands.

The child snuggled against the pillow, gently holding onto his fingers.

"So cute."

He heard a small sound behind him.

Wren vigilantly moved back, keeping the child safe behind him.

The little boy had woken up and was peering at him curiously. "Sir, are you the one who saved my life?"

"hmmmm,"

Wren watched the kid climb down the small cot and walk unsteadily towards him. He generously gave him a hand.

The kid seriously glanced up at him. "Sir, how do I repay you?"

"Umm you don't have to." Wren helped him sit down on a depilated chair.

The kid suddenly gripped his hand. "Sir, I promise myself to you. When I grow up I shall marry you and dedicate my life to you."

Wren just blinked at him while Feng snapped up and looked at him in disbelief. 'marriage!!!! after marriage they will... they will copulate!!!'

"CHIRP!!! CHIRP! CHIPRCHIRP!!"

'How dare you? Do you want to steal my spirit essence as well? You bloody cheat how dare you try to steal what's mine!!'

Wren gently caught the flaying bird and plugged it into his shirt. But still the bird kept kicking and chirping loudly as if throwing a tantrum.

"What is wrong now, little one? Why are you crying?"

Feng Mian was enraged upon hearing this. He stood up and bit into everything he saw. But accidentally he bit his nipples.

Wren screamed. "ahhh!!! That is not worm that is not a worm!!!!"

The kid watched him fly around trying to get the bird out. "Mister, what do you say? Do you want to marry me?"

This time Feng Mian let go and jumped out. He directly glared at the kid. "Chirp!!!" He pointed his wing at him and continued chirping.

Wren by now understood that the little birdie was complaining to him about the kid. "What are you saying? Do you not like the idea of marriage?"

"Chirp!" 'Yes!!!!'
