Porto de Paulo

A port of the Zao Clan, Porto Paulo was primarily home to the South Americans who had come along with the Zao Clan. They took hundreds of boats, left, then settled the area initially. While it wasn't the Capital of the Kingdom, It was fairly large. Building soared into the skyline, many of them had floors with open balconies for landing pads. It was very modern, upbeat and busy. Home to about a hundred and fifty thousand humans, it was one of the more central hubs for the transmigrated as they passed around that part of the world.

Shops lined the streets, objects from all over were being sold, devices, talismans, weapons and armor, creatures and food stands were everywhere to be seen. It was a regular bazaar, rows of shops and tables covered streets.

Errit could see the town from over the ridge, his cart made quick work of the trail. He decided to keep the Mask on his face rather than the Blackout Hat while he was shopping and searching. The Aura detection ability that it possessed saved a lot of time. Along the way, he saw a herd of sheep-like animals, their color looked closer to sharkskin but they were grazing on the grasses. All of them looked very healthy.

Using the Chains was out of the question, like the Root had originally done, the chain now stripped its intended targets and took them apart. Errit couldn't control them properly in that regard, so he tried a different method, but one that worked already. He waited for the chains to come out, focusing on their emergence and then wrapped the chains around the handle of the hardened spear.

Using it like a harpoon was a good idea, the hardened spear had made quick work out of the Korel'ssen near the Masked Village. Errit approached low and hid himself among the grass, the rising stalks helped cover his arrival and were especially inviting to the herd. The lush grasses were like a lure, bringing the shreep to his location.

When they got into range, he was already in position. He pulled back his arm and stabbed outward. It thrust through the neck of a female and blood sprayed into the grass. Errit jumped backward then pulled at the connecting chain. The Spear was retrieved and back into his hand, landing softly Errit could see the alpha male of the herd charge in his direction. Errit rolled and brought out the spellrifle. He put a tiny bit of energy into and then pulled the trigger.

A spray of water soaked the Shreeps path, it fell and broke its leg. Flopping around while it attempted to stand, its cries of pain were surreal. Errit walked up and put it out of its misery.

The herd had run off, scattered in the field. They were afraid but all eventually found each other again and started to run off into the distance.

Errit stored the shreep corpses away, he would find a butcher later. There had to be one, Grei couldn't possibly be the only person around with such a skill. Depending on the Chains to follow his command had really put a number on his confidence in them. Errit wondered what they were really for, they protected him sure. However, to Errit, the Chains were starting to become a curse.

"One of these please." Errit picked up a pot, he didn't have anything to hold water other than his hands, there were a bunch of common necessities that he needed.

The Ride up to the City was pleasant, people were interested in the Cart as he drove up but were soon disinterested when Errit refused to unmask. Feeling the pressure he immediately set out shopping.

That will be 750CP. Errit cringed. It was a bowl, a pitcher without a handle, closer to a vase. Rough on the outside, its inside was smooth and water tight. He paid and took it away.

"Is there anything you're looking for in particular?" One Merchant asked as he walked by.

"Appraiser offices, where are they?" Errit waited for an answer, when there wasn't one, he pulled out a stalk of some grass that had a heavy aura. "Tell me and I'll give you this."

The man salivated. "Three Shoots Death Grass." His friends nearby started mumbling.

"Down the street. Take a left at the statue and then a right at the fountain. Can't miss the area, signs are all over the place." The man quickly grabbed the grass at its base and disappeared with his buddies. They were gone from sight almost as soon as they had turned to leave.

The Appraiser district was exactly as they said it would be. Signs stood outside of storefronts and tents. People were standing around looking to appraise items, people would to anything to get themselves recognized. Knowledge was power and the knowledge was currency. Trading information and filling out forms, the majority of them had smiles on their faces. They would receive good payments for little work. All the risks were taken by the adventurers.

"What do you need Appraised?" He had been approached nearly a dozen times after taking a few steps. People were swarming his person.

Errit jumped and landed on a building's roof. There were more people. A sign for Appraisal was sitting out on the rooftop. "Can I appraise something for you? A soft voice came from under a tent.

Errit turned and looked, it was a dragon. Sort of. He walked up, the voice was pleasing to the ears, he wasn't at all bothered by her appearance, her wings covered the majority of her body while she enjoyed the afternoon air. "Something like that. I'd like to know where I can learn appraisal, maybe even get my own license." He rubbed his hands, he hated lying but he needed to learn and the faster, the better.

She opened her eyes wider and looked at his entire body. The gaze was distrubing, like he was being stripped from head to toe then given an examination. When she averted her eyes for a moment, he felt relief. The Dragons Eye was a powerful thing, seizing an object it was interested in with a magical force.

"Fine." she waved her claw and transformed. Her body shrank and her appendages changed to a more human like appearance. "By the way, I will charge for this. 200CP, since its not really work." She grabbed a robed and put it on tight. "Follow me."

Her tail swayed as she walked, Errit had a hard time not staring at her ass. The Wings gave her a sex appeal that he didn't expect to feel. She was very arousing in her humanoid form. "You don't have stare, but if you want to touch, you'll have to try harder than a soft gaze.. This way, don't fall behind or trip on that jaw." Her sass was fantastic to Errit's ears, he followed closer.

"Here we are. That's 200CP. If you find yourself on my roof again, make sure to come prepared and maybe show me something good while you're at it." She used her tail to brush against his chest as she turned to leave.

'Damn, that's intimidating and sexy as fuck.' Errits mind drifted for a second. When he came to, he looked at the sign on the door. "Appraisal Council of Porto Paulo."

"Hello?" A clerk sitting at a chair behind the counter greeted Errit as he walked in.

"Yes, I'd like to learn appraisal, where would I begin." His face was hidden, she didn't grasp the look of desperation on it.

"Appraisal never ends, you just have to learn the basics at first but absolutely nobody has learned what everything is. You find that guy, send him my way, I'll marry him." She didn't look like she was joking. "Here, take one of those books on the shelf, sit down, and read. If you understand everything in the book, you can get your license. There's even a test. I would strongly advise against it though, a lot of things are dangerous to handle. Make sure you can tell the difference in the common stuff." She pointed him toward the shelf and then went back to reading her book.

'Clerks' Errit shuddered, turned to grab the book and began reading. It was close to the one that he had seen at Kiwissel, The images flowed off the pages while he read. A lot of the book had previously written appraises on the plants themselves, observations and even uses. It was very interesting, he couldn't even bring himself to get up to eat. After a full day of sitting in one place, he got up to stretch. He put the book back on the shelf and went outside for air.

Eating one of the fruits from the Masked Village, he stood in a corner watching the streets and traffic as it teemed with life in front of him. The Mask showing him the auras of everything present. It was like living color, dancing in a storm.
