Chapter 8: Work In Palawan 1

It's only four-thirty in the morning but I've already taken a shower and got dressed. Mang Bert will pick me up here at home at four thirty, because our flight to El Nido Palawan was at exactly five o'clock.

Sunny was still sleeping soundly in our room next to Grace. Before I got up at three in the morning, I put Grace next to Sunny.

I just arranged the things I'm going to bring last night so I'm checking it again carefully today because I might have left something behind.

I was carrying a large brown suitcase. The suitcase was full of clothes I would need for work. I also brought my replacement when it was not work hours.

After I checked that my equipment was complete and I hadn't forgotten anything, I rearranged it.

I approached my sleeping daughter, I gently kissed her forehead and cheek. I didn't want to wake her up because I might suddenly change my mind and not continue to leave. But if I do that I will lose my job, for sure.

Time passed quickly. I just found out that mang Bert was already out of the house because of the horn of his car. I wiped away my tears again as I slowly left the room where Sunny was sleeping.

"Good morning miss Sydney! I'll help you there."

"Good morning to you too." I smiled greeting him back. Mang Bert took my large suitcase and put it in the back of the car.

After thirty minutes we also arrived at the airport. There they waited Andrew, Miss Michelle and architect Robles.

"Good morning everyone!" I greet the three of them.

"Good morning Sydney." Miss Michelle greeted me back.

"Good morning beautiful." Architect Robles greeted me back with a wink. I winced at what he did but I just didn't show it to him. I don't like men who are too showy... I hate them. I also don't like people calling me by any nickname ... I prefer them to call me by my name.

Because of what architect Robles did, I also saw a sudden change in Miss Michelle's mood. Andrew did not greet me back. He stared at me like there's wrong about me. The coldness of his gaze too. I don't know why his aura is like this again.

In the three days I've been able to work with him, each day he deals differently... and to be honest, I don't understand him. I'm not affected by what he's doing, because I just don't have it.

My only concern is that he is as hard to read. Tsk! He changed a lot. If I take away Drew's guilt from me ... I mean, if I forget for a moment his guilt of cheating on me, I actually prefer the way he used to be. The Andrew who is loving, thoughtful, sweet and caring.

I prefer the way he used to be—compared to now ... because now he's in trouble. I mean, yeah he looks matured now and responsible, especially when it comes to work. The only thing that ruins him is his chaotic personality. Just, hard to explain!

"I'm sorry about him. He's just lack of sleep!" I was surprised when miss Michelle suddenly approached me and clung to my arm. She seems like we're close to each other. Plus her sweet smile.

"Miss—"

"Opps. Just call me Michelle. We're not at work. Okay?" She said smiling. I just nodded.

"Good. Just think we'll just friends here, okay? Like, the four of us are just having a bonding!" She said like a child as she jumped up and down following Andrew who was in front of us.

I was amazed with her. I never thought she had this side.

I was stopped by Andrew walking straight on the red carpet that lay in our path.

"Miss—Michelle?" I shyly call her.

"Yes, Sydney my dear?"

"Is there a flight now? I mean, it's too early?" She just laughed at me before she answered.

"Of course. This airport is Claveria's Property. Besides, we're using Claveria's private chopper."

I was shocked. I don't think Drew's family has many properties. I just shrugged.

"Come here next to me Sydney." It was architect Robles. Andrew and I turned to him at once. Andrew's eyes were still cold. When I looked at him he quickly averted his gaze.

"Okay." I smiled in response to architect Robles then I walked towards his seat. I didn't even waste any more time to look at Andrew who I'm sure next to him in the seat is miss Michelle, who is his wife. When we were properly positioned, the pilot immediately launched the chopper.

Fortunately, architect Robles is not naughty now, so I was able to freely travel my mind to describe the three of them who are with me today.

Architect Gabriel Robles;

He has a charming look. His voice is also soft, it's not scary and even more so it's not deep. His aura is bright. His hair color is dark. He has a pinkish lips. In short, he's handsome ... yet playboy?

Well, I'm still not sure ... I'm just stating what I have observed about him since day one.

Miss Michelle Villafuerte Claveria;

She has a fair skin. Her hair's color is ash and its wavy. She has also a soft voice, and its sweet to hear. She's tall. Her eye color is light brown. She is very beautiful because of the color of her eyes. She's a Goddess!

I admit, six years ago I hated her especially when she made me think that the man I love was going to marry her. I thought she was the kind of woman who loves trouble, and hurting someone's feelings.

But that's the opposite of what I discovered in her today. She's sweet and she is very caring.

Michael Andrew Claveria;

He's ruthless, cold and serious. He has a baritone voice. His eye color is dark blue. He looks hot with his thin beard. He may look dangerous—yet attractive.

"We're here!" I immediately turned to miss Michelle who was so excited that we had arrived. She got up first to get off as soon as the chopper landed.

"Come on Sydney!" She quickly approached me as if we were really just friends.

"Since its our first day, no work okay? Let's just enjoy first!" She said excitedly as she said that.

"Psh!" Andrew who came down first. He just passed miss Michelle and me.

"Rascal!"

"Don't mind him, maybe he's just not in the mood." Architect Robles nodded as he said that to miss Michelle.

"I'm really sorry for your Boss's behavior, okay? Don't worry when he fights you, I'll take care of you. I'll beat him up!" She laughed before I was finally pulled down by the chopper. I just laughed too.

I was fascinated with the surroundings that welcomed me. Especially when the fresh, cool breeze touched my skin. It feels good and calm.

Once the beautiful scene erased the various imaginary content of my mind. It feels like I was problem free.

White sand, blue water, and evergreen forest trees were the first things I noticed in this area. It looks like a Paradise!

"Will you just stand there?" I turned to the source of the baritone voice. It's Andrew. He smirked and looked at me seriously.

I rolled my gaze to find out where architect Robles and miss Michelle were. My sight struck them far from where I was standing.

"Sorry." I said sparingly before starting to step forward.
