"Thea, please listen to me. You can barely walk on your own. Why do you want to go in 'the great manor'?" Rees did not understand why his wife suddenly wanted to go there.
Thea combed her hair, getting ready to go into the manor. "Rees I am tired of sitting in here. I want to go out. And Master and Lord Lester are not in Vincardine today. So I am thinking of spending some time with my friends."
"Then you can always ask them to come at our home." Rees suggested.
Thea shook her head before looking at him. "And what about Lady Elsie? How would it look if she comes here to spend time with us?"
Now that made sense. Rees knew that many people were already criticising Elsie for befriending her maids. She used to receive many invitations for tea parties and other such gatherings.
But since the news of her close bonding with Ruth, Ida and Thea had spread around, people had begun to avoid inviting her. Rees could not help but suspect Eloise in that matter.
"I understand!"
