Chapter 5 : So Much Better

A black tinted limousine could be seen approaching an imposing manor, it stopped in the private parking near the entrance of the garden, which looked more like a forest than anything else.

The parking was surprisingly lit enough to see even during the night. Just then the car came to a stop, and the driver, Kunishe, got out to open his Madam's door.

"Here please, Madam." As always he maintained a polite tone.

"Thanks, you can go back now Kunishe." She dismissed her driver.

All the while petting the kitten in her bosom, who was lazily resting again. 'Dang woman, this house is so big! Ahahah! Jackpot!' The change of air seemed to wake him up, and left him flabbergasted in front of the sheer size of the manor.

A huge garden rested in front of the mansion, with the mansion itself being bigger than Victor had expected. The mansion was white mostly, with the pillars being golden in colours - and the door being bigger than the size of 2 humans standing above one another. Victor realised, this was it - he had hit the jackpot.

While it seemed pretty normal for the Yaoyorozus, for an average family, or even a well-off family, the manor was immense.

Mrs. Yaoyorozu entered through the main door, it would be better to say that she was welcomed by another man. He was quite tall too, with black hair and amber eyes. He had a moderate build, while he didn't seem to train excessively, his body looked fit enough for a young man.

Victor glanced at his body with a thoughtful look. 'Hm… decent I guess.' Victor nodded to himself. He could tell this man wasn't a guard, most likely the husband of this woman judging from his matching clothes and that smile.

"Miku, Darling! So it's the little guy Kunishe talked about? Oohhw it's so cute!" From his expression, Victor could tell he barely held himself back from jumping on him…

The man simply flinched from the woman's glare as he released a fake cough. "Ahem - Come inside first, Darling!"

"Indeed, let's go inside, Dear." Miku replied with a sweet smile.

The couple silently crossed their manor, until they reached the main room, near the kitchen. Even Victor could feel the rising tension from the man.

The man started talking again. "Here Darling, I prepared a place for him just like you asked, it's there in the kitchen, it'll be easier for us this way."

He nervously pointed toward the kitchen.

"Akio." Miku sternly called him.

"Yes!?" Akio turned back quickly and looked at his wife.

'Ouch is he whipped already? What a woman.' Sneered Victor, still resting, enjoying his stay in her bosom.

"First, let me say it clearly; I don't want to adopt him only as a pet but as a member of our family. This cute little guy was abandoned in the streets and he deserves all of our love. I also thought he'll be perfect for us and our recent situation. We just got married, isn't he a perfect test to see if we are fit to have children?" Miku maintained a strong gaze.

"Yes Darling!" Akio nodded quickly.

"And just like I said, a member of our family, so you shouldn't call him 'it'. It's offensive, and you might hurt him."

"A- ah, yes, sorry Darling!" Akio continued to nod fervently, as if to excuse his previous error.

Victor scoffed internally. 'Ah yes, even though I don't understand shit, he's clearly manhandled by this woman! Too funny!' If an image could represent Victor now, it would be the popcorn eating emoji.

"And lastly, I remember expressively telling our driver that I wanted you to prepare a room for him, not that thing in the kitchen! It's only proper for him to have his own room!"

"But Darling isn't a room too much for a little kitten?! That's why I settled for the kitchen..." Akio answered with a confident tone, which was quickly lost toward the end of his sentence under his wife's gaze.

"Don't we have plenty of empty rooms? I see nothing wrong."

"Anyway I'm done here if you want to sleep with me tonight prepare him a room!" Continued Miku, getting up and leaving toward the stairs to the 2nd floor.

She stopped midway and glanced at her husband. "Oh and by the way, I decided to call him Kurai. Don't forget it." And she resumed her steps.

"Yes Darling, it's a very fitting name for him!" Akio got up trying to elevate the mood, but his wife didn't even glance back. He knew that the only way for him to not sleep on the couch tonight was to prepare the new room.

'Anyway it's not like I wasn't agreeing with her, I was just careless with my words. The kitten is truly cute.' He thought while climbing the stairs after his wife, and going to another room to settle the new little guy.

*****

'Seems like everything is done now.' After Akio prepared the room, Miku finally stopped petting Victor, or Kurai as she called him. And she delicately put him in his new bed.

Clearly too big for a cat, but the woman didn't seem to mind at all. Well, even the room was too disproportionate for a cat: double bed, TV, dressing, bathroom and WC. It felt to him like Akio really went all out to please his wife.

Victor, or now Kurai, his new name, which he easily understood after Miku called him a few times while looking at him during the delay where Akio was preparing the room, confirmed his theory. Or at least he knew he was in a world more advanced than in his previous life. And this just by looking at the giant TV hanging on the wall. 'Damn they have 2 inches thick TVs now instead of those boxes.'

'Anyway I should be able to gather enough information now, and I need to get used to the culture and language here... Too bad I didn't learn Japanese before... Well, nah nevermind English, Spanish, French and Chinese are languages way more spoken.'

'Guess this cat 'quirk' really made me lazy huh? I feel like sleeping again, well it was a long day after all.' Kurai stretched his little body before meowing instinctively a last time, allowing sleepiness to take him to other realms.

*****

Darkness. Unlike how he expected, no light shone over his eyes. He woke up, but it wasn't morning yet. "Meaw…"

Shaking his body rapidly, Victo- Kurai yawned. 'It's just like I feared it.'

He blinked with his golden eyes as he looked at his cat-like paws. 'The feline quirk brought change to me, first my sleeping habits. I shouldn't have awoken so soon. Then my laziness shot through the roof. Or is this a side effect of the kitten body?'

*Sigh*

'Let me try to speak, now that I think about it, it didn't even cross my mind, maybe I'll be able to, like that Rat.'

"Test, one, two, one, tw—!?" A seductive feminine voice could be heard.

"Why the hell do I have a female voice now?!"

"Let's calm down— Raah I can't!" He tried to shout like a man, but only a suave voice came out.

'I should check Yoruichi's memories for everything related to her anyway.' He quickly reasoned, and avoided talking to hear his voice.

'Yoruichi's memories… Yoruichi's memories… Fighting...Nah… Ah! Here! Cat form! So— wait what? Why does such a beautiful woman sound like a chad when she's a cat?? I'm lost…'

'This must be why I have the opposite happening to me…'

*Sigh*

'I won't gain anything from whining about this, worst come worst I'll be a mute.' He thought before jumping out of the bed.

'Anyway, let's visit this house now that I'm awake.' Kurai walked around the house, but there wasn't much to see, well it was pretty big that he was sure. But a lot, if not all, of the rooms were empty.

'They must have moved in recently huh?'

He memorized a few rooms per his previous assassin habit, before deciding to go back. 'Oh? Was this light on when I passed by?'

The door was also opened a bit just enough for his head to see through.

*Thrash*

The sound of leather against skin was heard by Victor. He ran a bit and passed his head into the room. The scene he saw left him speechless.

*Thrash*

Mrs. Yaoyorozu was standing on her bed, behind her kneeling husband. Their current position was very close to doggystyle but she had a long whip on her right hand. Unfortunately, or fortunately for Mr. Yaoyorozu who seemed to enjoy this treatment, Miku's toys weren't there for decoration.

She actively whipped his buttock with a mad blush adorning her cheeks.

Akio too, was reacting quite fiercely, but the male version.

'...Dang so I was spot on, huh? He really is manhandled by his wife, bahahah! Look at his face while he's getting whipped like a dog! Ah shit, it's too funny!' Victor rolled on the ground holding his stomach with his paws.

*Thrash*

'Ah I can't, ahaha! I should really leave before it's too much!' He started going to his room, not without giving a last look and a stifled laugh.

He reached his room again and stopped before climbing the bed. 'Oh I forgot this mirror, I should take a good look before sleeping.'

In the dark, the only reflection Kurai could see on the mirror were a pair of gold jewels looking right back at him. 'Damn, they are beautiful and kind of scary, hah.'

'The fur is perfect for night camouflage though, I should maybe do a few nightly explorations someday.'

Indeed without lights, his body mixed very well with the darkness of the night, it was as if the only thing people could ever see would be 2 hoovering golden orbs. 'I like it, and it's indeed just like Yoruichi's cat transformation.'

He walked before the mirror, did some poses, stretches, admiring his new body. 'I will test the physical improvements later, without anybody around, for now.'

*****

The next day, when Kurai woke up in the morning the sun was already high.

'Let's go in the kitchen and see what those humans are doing now, ahaha!'

He jumped out of the bed, and ran down the stairs at a moderate pace. When he reached the kitchen, he was unfortunately disappointed by the normalness of the scene. 'Duh, they're just eating?'

Akio could be seen reading the newspaper while twirling his coffee and Miku was making breakfast. When she heard his light footsteps her head did a sharp 180° turn in his direction.

"Mouuuhh! Kurai little baby, come here!" She kneeled down and patted her knees to show him the way. The upper side of her ample bosom showing fully to Kurai.

'Man, she has a killer body I swear. Anyway so Kurai huh? This confirms it. It feels good though. First time I hear someone giving me a name, well except myself.' He said before trotting toward Miku.

He climbed on her thighs where she picked him up and rubbed her cheeks on his. 'Aahh I could get used to this, sadly I've got things to do. And the first is to learn Japanese so I could finally know her name, heh'

Miku continued to rub her cheeks on his soft fur. "Who's Mama's little baby? Moouuh! You're shoo small and cute, Kurai!"

Akio let a small smile form on his lips before this heart-warming scene. He sipped his coffee and added from his seat. "You liked the room, didn't you Kurai?"

Kurai, the man, or the cat in question thought. 'I gotta humour the man, the room was nice after all'

"Meow." He let out a sound of 'acknowledgement'.

"Ooouuh, you see Akio, isn't he smart already! I told you. Come here cutie." She said, continuing to rub under his chin more excitedly.

Akio nodded too. "Yes he is, I'm sorry for treating you like that Kurai, starting from now you're a member of our family!" He clearly declared, received an 'hum' of agreement by his wife.

That's how the morning went by for Kurai, eating the breakfast on Miku thighs, until they both departed for their work; Akio to his company and Miku to her clothing store.

When he was alone in the manor, Kurai decided to do something productive instead of lazing around. He went to his room, settled comfortably on the bed, and pressed his little paw on the remote. After all, who said that he couldn't learn with TV?

This is how most of his day went by. He looked at Japanese TV shows, information channels or whatever was showing on the TV. That's how he saw for the first time what kind of world he was in.

Until now he underestimated what the Gods told him about those so called 'Heroes' but when he was looking at that Superman look-alike with punches so strong that can break the sound barrier and even create waves, he was shocked to the core.

'F*ck! How strong you gotta be to do that!?' He thought, looking at a clip of All Might saving people.

He sighed. '...Fortunately I was lucky on the wheel thing or else I don't know what I would've done in this world without powers...'

Miku came back first when Kurai was still looking at the TV. This day was truly an eye opener to his current world; real superheroes, building taller than the tallest skyscrapers he knew, and the list goes on...

"Kurai! Kurai! Where are you cutie?" Gently called Miku after entering the kitchen and dropping her stuff on the sofa.

He heard her call and stood up. 'I guess that's all for now, still damn... I'd have to learn the language urgently, because I'm sure society isn't all sunshine and rainbows as they showed it on the TV.'

He dropped down and walked to the kitchen, meowing to answer and tell Miku where he was. When she saw him, she let out a refreshing smile, showing him that he made her tiring day better. They settled together on the sofa, peacefully, where Miku turned on the TV as a background sound to pet the now sleeping kitten on her lap. Awaiting for her husband to come home.

That's how a few, very productive and peaceful, months went by for Kurai. For whom it was definitely a first time knowing such peacefulness in his daily life.

From his upbringing into a mercenary camp to his death, he never really felt at peace, and most importantly: he never had a place to come back with people waiting for him.

A place to call home, somewhere he could come back anytime.
