Proposal

"I know you still love him. The way you did the first time you saw him. He was your light, Friya, until everything drastic happened. I can't change the fact that you promised yourself to love him forever," Louie's voice croaked up.

"Louie..."

"I can't say anymore." He walked past ahead of him, brushing his shoulders to hers in a feather light, and she maintained her balance. Friya heard the slam of the door, and she's left hanging. The rustle of the footsteps lost its faint sound by the hallway, and she swallowed.

How come their conversation felt all wrong?

Friya clasped both of her hands in her abdomen. She looked around the office and saw that the papers at the table stacked up with one another. Friya looked at how messy his table was. Knowing Louie, he wouldn't let his table as grimy as it was now. The papers scattered at the top, and he saw the computer's screen was still lit.
