Chapter One

Murata gives Yuuri a visit in the maoh's office for he is avoiding the privilege - if you can consider that one as indeed a privilege - to be the royal helper for the annual cleansing of the Shinou Temple. Only to find out that his Maoh friend is currently drowning - literally - in the pale of papers that were going to be signed.

They're starting to have a conversation when Murata notices a weird looking thing laying on the corner of the room. Anyone could easily notice it for its size and colour - Or shall he say colours? - in w/c in his own opinion - is peculiar. Not to mention its weird distorted shape.

"Say, Shibuya, what is that thing over there?"

Curious enough he pointed out the thing for Yuuri to see.

"ohh...that..."

Yuuri scratched his chin while looking somewhat scared at the thing.

Now, why would his friend be scared? From his point of view, the thing actually looks... cute?

Nuh. Not that sense of the word "cute". It's just the thing's appearance that really attracts attention. So it means somehow - in it's own twisted way - It looks cute.

'Well, cute things attract, aren't they?'

'yeah, right. What ever.'

He shifts back his attention to his still naive looking friend, who looks really uncomfortable at the 'thing' that lies quietly in the corner of the room.

"That's really one of Annisina's new inventions. She left it here demanding that she must be informed immediately about Gwendal's return."

The young king shivered at the thought of Annisina's devilish grin before leaving. Gwendal himself states that he'd rather be grateful to be sent to war alone without sword, than to deal with the red-haired invention no matter what the circumstances are.

"Seems like someone is missing her guinea pig, huh?"

"Yeah, you could say that."

Yuuri shakes his head at the thought.Now that he thinks about it,he's starting to wonder how Gwendal manages to survive w/ all this years -or shall we say decades- dealing with the mad scientist demon devices.

'The guy is very tough, indeed.'

"So, what does it do?"

"Uhm... I'm not sure. Maybe some travel stuff. You know how much thought she has, right?"

Not really paying attention to the young king's answer, the sage drew himself near the thing.

"Hey! What are you going to do there Murata?"

"Nothing. I just want to take a closer look."

"K. just don't touch anything, alright?"

Yuuri followed his friend to make sure he's not going to lay a hand on the device. Not that his friend is careless- in fact, he's over cautious about thing's most of the time- but, it is Murata's curiosity that he is most afraid of. Especially now that his friend seems to be absolutely bored. No one could tell what he is up to.

'Wait, did I just describe Murata as Shinou ?'

"We don't know how that thing works. I still value my life, you know." he continue

When Ken reached the device and took a good look, he saw that nothing is interesting about it anymore. He bent to take a much closer look. It's just a typical object with buttons on it, so with jumbled wires here and there, some weird looking bulbs in different colours and sizes.

'They look pretty awful. Should I introduce her to LED lights instead? They are more efficient and consume less energy.'

"Hmm... it really attracts attention from afar and yet, nothing unusual about it up close."

He straightened up again and readjusted his eyeglasses.

'Maybe I'm just bored. I really need to get something'

Murata sigh. He turned to Yuuri w/ a big smile on his face leaning his head a bit making the light reflect into his eye glasses hiding his eyes.

"Well then, I'm going to the royal kitchen now, Shibuya. How about tea? Wanna have some?"

"No, thanks. I've gotta get going with my paperwork, you see. Maybe I'll catch up with you later."

"Ok. See you around."

Murata makes his way out when suddenly Yuuri stumbles and bumps on Murata's back making the two fall. Luckily, Murata got a grip on something so he easily recovered his balance and supported Yuuri's weight enough to prevent him from falling.

"Wew! that was close!" the sage exclaimed.

"Uhm... What was that?" Yuuri asks.

"Is it me or I just hear something beeping?"

The double black sage agreed. He too could hear a weird beeping sound. Loud and clear, this time.

The two move to find where the sound is coming from but with Yuuri comfortably leaning on the sage's back the teen could not move.

"Oi! Get the heck off my back now, Shibuya."

'what's up with my back'

Even Shinou have a weird habit of leaning his back and it pisses him off.

Yuuri moved but still not leaving his back.

"Come on, Shibuya!" he hissed.

Yuuri moves again.

"I- I can't."

"What do you mean 'you can't'?"

The double black sage turned his head to see his friend and darted him with a questioning look.

'Yeah, getting off my back is not something that is difficult to do.'

He straightens up his back and tries to turn to Yuuri when he notices that his hand was stock on the thing that he is holding to prevent him from falling.

"What the-"

"What?"

The Maoh's eye widened in horror when he realized that the sage's hand was pressing the button of Annisina's demon device. And now ...

"Wow! we're stock!"

"Murata! What the heck are you doing? Get your hand off there!"

Yuuri said as he grabbed his friend's hand trying to remove it from the button but he only found his own hand stock over the sage's hand too.

'Oh great!'

The young king looked more horrified that he began to panic.

"We're dead! We're so dead! What are we gonna do? Somebody! We need somebody to get out of here, now!"

"Relax Shibuya, we're just stock."

Murata said in a calm manner as if nothing is wrong going on. But he's cool act just makes Yuuri more uncomfortable. He can't believe it! How could his friend stay so cool about this? It's Annisina's invention they're dealing with! What worries him most is that the device where not yet tested for crying out loud.

"What do you mean we are just stock? You do realize what happened. You've pressed the button of t-that thing. If it activates that device, we're doomed!"

Yuuri is now forcing himself to remove his hand-their hand- on the machine before it'll turn on. But no he failed. They're really stock.

"Argh! Murata, think of something!"

"Hey, calm down Shibuya. This won't work without Maryuko, right?"

Murata flashed his carefree smile to lighten the atmosphere. The fact that Annisina is looking for Gwendal to test the thing, it may not work without maryuko.

'Or is it?'

As if to answer his question, the device's light indicator suddenly turns on.

"...Or maybe not? Hehe."

And the machine is now starting to work. Yuuri panicked once more. While the sage just stands there and prepares himself for what's about to come. Thinking that it's not as if they can do anything about it at the moment. The fact that the thing is on and they are stock, the most helpful thing to do is to wait and be prepared.

"You said, it does travel stuff, right, Shibuya? Now, I'm wondering where we are going. Time travel perhaps? Or just teleportation stuff? Hmm.. maybe if I think of a place I wanna visit, we'll end up there. I guess?"

Hearing this, Yuuri started to think if his friend had gone nuts or something.

"Now, now. I think I wanna go to ... Jurassic era. I've been dreaming all my life to see a real alive kicking dinosaur. And I think this is the chance. What do you think?"

"Shut it! I don't wanna go anywhere!" Yuuri hissed as he panicked.

"If I only have that wisdom of yours, I would definitely use it to find ways to get out of here and not waste my time thinking about Jurassic era and giant lizard stuff."

"It's dinosaurs. Besides with that power of yours we will be just fine. If I happen to have those, I won't miss this chance you know."

"K'so! I can't believe I'm talking to you!"

Murata just shrugged. "Yeah. me either."

After Yuuri realized that struggling has no use at all, he decided to just shut his eyes and gave in. The sound of the machine gives him creeps. If only possible he wants to shut his ears too.

Finally the big bulb on the top of the device started to blink then it turned on. The two double black were now preparing themselves for possible explosion,blow, time travel - in w/c excited murata- or that ever that may happen, when suddenly the machine stopped beeping.

"Are we dead yet now, Murata?" Yuuri asked. Still shutting his eyes not wanting to see anything.

'what if- if when I open my eyes, I'll see a hungry giant lizard in front of me? Or what if i'll grow scales or a tail or something? Or worse, what if we're already...' He shook his head.

'No! it can't be.'

"Well... " Murata's voice snapped his head back to reality.

" ...the thing stops working so I guess we are still ... alive?"

With that, the young king opened his eyes.

"Huh?"

True enough the beeping sound stopped and so the lights were off. Yeah, the device shut itself down.

"Wow! I can't believe it. It stopped."

"It doesn't make sense." Murata mumbled.

Hearing that, Yuuri glared at him.

'Was he serious about those giant lizards that he's disappointed that nothing happens?'

Seeing Yuuri glaring at him, he just let out a sigh.

'Well, It's not that I was really serious about it. It's just that...'

He can't believe nothing happened. Seeing Annisina's work for quite some time now, he knew that even if it was a failure at the first try, it always had some sort of side effect such as an explosion or so. He finds it odd that it ended up this peaceful.

While the two were still in daze about what had just happened, the door opened revealing the not so happy figure of Lord Wolfram Von Bielefield.

The blond slammed the door and his eyes landed at the two double black beside the door. He was angry at the wimp and now his anger roused ten folds as he saw the not so good sight in front of him.

'how could he? I can't believe him!'

The blond saw his fiance leaning on the sage back while his right arm was wrapping on the sage's waist, and at the same time, he's also holding the sage's hand. From the place where he is now, it looks like Yuuri is hugging Murata from behind. And that didn't make him feel good.

"Yuuri..."

The young king was startled when he heard the door shut loudly followed by the voice of his fiance. He turned to see the blond he quickly ran into him and flashed his very big smile. He hadn't seen the ex-prince for quite some time and he's sure the emerald eye is mad at him right now for not informing his arrival moments ago.

On his defense, he didn't get the chance to inform the ex-prince since Gwendal pushed him inside the office and demanded that he should start working upon his arrival. But regardless, the blond is darting him a very dangerous death glare. He can already smell the fireball in the air.

"Oh. Hi, Wolf! Wha- "

"Don't 'Hi' me there you unfaithful flirt!" the blond shut him up.

"First, you don't even bother to inform me - your fiance- that you are back from earth. And now, this? You're flirting again with another man behind my back. Let alone, the sage!"

"Hey, it's not what you think wolf. You see..."

Yuuri tried to explain what happened but due to his nervousness, only incomprehensible words came out of his mouth. Making the blond grow more furious than he was a while ago.

" ... yeah, so that's it. Nothing really happened. It's all- "

"Enough!" The brat raised his voice. His emerald eyes where blazing with fire.

" That's it wimp! I've had enough of you flirting around and you're not getting away with it this time!"

Yuuri literally jumped back when his fiance started to summon his element and started throwing fireballs on him.

"Wolf! C-calm down. You might burn out the office. Those papers are important doc- "

"Don't make those papers as an excuse, wimp! I'm sure Anuea has a spare copy of all those crap. So, I won't mind burning those with you on top of them!"

"B-but, Gwendal will be furious if - "

"I don't care! I swear, I'm gonna burn you alive, you wimp!"

Then he resumes chasing fireballs at the young king w/c is trying his best to hide in every safe place possible inside the office. Murata just chuckled and slowly made his way out of the room, leaving the couple inside. He is not worried about Shibuya at all. They're kinda used to this scene and it has become some sort of entertainment for him sometimes when he is bored.

On his way to the royal kitchen, he felt a presence. A very familiar one that sometimes pisses him off.

"And that exactly are you trying to do back there?"

He asked without even bothering to see the one whom he was talking to.

"My, my. Quite in a bad mood are we not, my sage?"

"And you're trying to pull a prank?" It's not a question really.

"You do want to play games, don't you? Not even thinking you might endanger the life of your chosen king."

The first king shamelessly shrugged his shoulder.

"Nothing happens. Besides, it was an accident. But if it's really making my sage angry, I deeply apologize."

Shinou even bows to him with a very apologetic tune though his facial expression shows otherwise. He even smirks at him not looking sorry at all.

"Shameless bastard!" the sage muttered under his breath.
