Everyone Desires Victory

Celestia's POV:

The sun was setting in the forest Island. All the Demonic warriors were gathered up in the woods. They were all suited up in their classic red armored suit. I noticed that only the female warriors wore long capes, and the male ones were wearing cloaks. Everyone was carrying different kinds of weapons in their hands.

Their hunger to cause destruction was evident in their Scarlet red eyes. Theo told me that since they had been trapped within the Door of the Damned for those many years, they are very much looking forward to spilling some blood on the battlefield.

This made me worry about my people. We are going to invade the Southern regions of the mage lowlands, and they are not mighty enough to withstand an attack from us.

I just don't want my people to get hurt! I was born to protect everyone in the Celestial Realm, and I don't want to be the reason for their downfall.

This is the first time I saw Theo in armor. His armor was not significantly different from the one which Ivory was wearing the other day. It had the same crescent moon symbol, but the color of his robe and suit was silver-white.

Theo was overviewing the crowd from a distance while Gorgo instructed something to his fellow warriors in Enochian language. I wish I could learn this language, as I feel left out sometimes being the only one here who doesn't know the demonic tongue.

Theo then let out a couple of his Silver Flames from his palms on the grassland and created a portal. I was confused! What is happening here? The sun has set now, and it is ethically wrong to invade a land when there is no sun.

"Everybody, listen," Theo shouted at the crowd. "A lot of you must be wondering why we are going to attack the Mage lowlands now as the sun has set. But if we ambush the mage warriors now, they might yield to us without putting up a fight."

This seems to be a good strategy! If the mage warriors surrender to us without a fight, then there will be no unnecessary bloodshed. Even though fighting after the sunset is immoral, if it saves my people from losing their lives, then it is worth breaking the rules.

But the Warriors didn't seem to appreciate Theo's strategy. Gorgo stepped forward, and he frowned at Theo.

"Silver Shadow, attacking a region when it's dark is what spineless entities do. We are the Demonic warriors. We bravely face our Foes and kill them in daylight. You can't make us commit this cowardly act," Gorgo shouted at Theo.

I expected this reaction from them because they are craving flesh and blood right now. Theo ignored Gorgo and then scanned back at the crowd.

"Warriors, tell me what we all really want from a war," he questioned them.

"Victory," they all shouted back in unison. To my surprise, even Gorgo was chanting along with the rest of them.

"Exactly," Theo shrieked and laughed out a little. "Victory is the most important thing to us. Nothing feels better than the sweet sound of hearing our victory bells. So if we need Victory, it is not always necessary to fight a battle and face our warriors. We can use our wit to win the war."

Even Gorgo seemed to agree with him. I breathed out in relief that my people are not going to be harmed.

"Now, come on, warriors. Let us go and conquer the southern regions of the Mage lands," Theo yelled out.

The crowd applauded Theo. And I was amazed by the way Theo was able to change their minds. I didn't know if he used his alluring power to convince them or not. But his statements were also very convincing. Everyone does desire victory more than anything else!

Theo was the first one to get through the portal, and I followed him. Behind us, the Demon warriors were marching out from the portal. The portal directly led us to the castle of Southern Mage Lord Arcadia. So we are going to sneak into the castle and ambush the Mage Lord. This is perfect! No lives will be lost.

The Southern Castle is a majestic monument built with white marble. Lord Arcadia is fond of Architecture, and he worships the buildings he designed like Gods. He has made this castle in a way that the shadows of the court don't fall on the ground even in the scorching afternoon sun.

I never understood the reason why Arcadia doesn't want his monument to cast a shadow on the ground. The castle guards who were standing on either side of the enormous gates got intimidated when they saw us.

"Silver Shadow is here! And he has bought a whole clan of Demonic Warriors. Alert the others!" one of the warriors shouted, and he ran back through the entrance of the white marbled castle. I felt like we have already won, even before the war.

The portal closed as soon as all the warriors reached here. Theo looked over his shoulder and shouted, "Warriors, surround the castle and attack them only if they attack you. The victory is ours!"

"The Victory is ours," the rest of them repeated, which made a loud noise that almost shook the whole land.

Theo and I got into the castle through the main door while the rest of them spread out and went in all directions to surround the court entirely. In the crescent moon sky, the white marbled castle was a dazzling sight.

I wasn't able to help myself, but I wondered at the intricate structures of designs that were on the enormous pillars that supported the monument. As we got into the castle, the interiors were even more incredible. The floral patterns on the wall never seemed to come to an end until we reached the courtroom.

I expected that many people would be here, but Lord Arcadia was the only one present. He was seated on his white throne that had the same design as that on the walls. This courtroom was decorated with expensive stones, and the perfectly crafted architecture gave it an elegant look.

"Silver Shadow," Lord Arcadia yelled and got up from his throne. "Why would you attack the weak ones like us first?"
